The hotel facility was so nice but improvements can be made to staff customer service.
Pros:

Property is clean and spacious and the was great although hard to figure at first.

Cons:

The property is a bit of a walk to Kyoto station. At one point we thought you had to cross to the bridge to get to the property so we had to carry all our baggage on top and over the bridge until you found a pedestrian lane a bit further away. The staff is hit or miss. There are some that are nice and helpful but there are some that are not there’s a noticeable shortage in staff in front desk and when one is busy you really have to wait. We went overtime with our checkout 10:07 am and was told that if we extended for another few minutes with the paid overtime penalties for late checkout which really really didn’t sit well with me. They could’ve asked us first after knocking on the door they were checking out already instead of telling their face that would be paying more if we spent a few more minutes.

Pros:

Value for money stay not too far from kyoto station. Many eateries along the walk from hotel to station.

Cons:

No staff almost all the time. If there are staff, they cannot speak English though.

Good price/location. Unaware of the additional cost of just staying in Kyoto so we had to pay more upon arrival.
Pros:

The room was small but bigger than previous rooms we’ve been in. It was super easy to get to the bus and train stations. Password entrance was easier than keys.

Cons:

The laundry room has those duo wash/dry machines and they suck at drying. We paid for 2 additional drys and had to hang our laundry in the room to finish drying.

We also were double checking out packing and at 10:06 we had a knock on a door to get us out. I’ve never stayed at a place that comes to get out and doesn’t give you 5-10 min grace to get to the lobby to check out

I liked the location a lot, about 7-8 minute walk to station- appreciated the amenities provided

Cons:

The area was a bit small, but it’s just somewhere for us to sleep after sight seeing and what not so it wasn’t too bad, we only had two backpacks with us at the time.
