An utter disgrace
Pros:

e have an utterly disappointing experience.

I would give zero star if I could.

We planned months ago to go to Koh Lipe through Langkawi. I knew there was one ferry daily during low season and two ferries daily during high season. There was never any news about ferries being closed starting June on the ferry’s website. It wasn’t until we arrived in Langkawi when we found out the ferry was closed starting June due to the war in Middle East and rising oil costs. This is practically force majeure.

We tried for two days to find return ferry tickets but failed. And we don’t want to spend the whole time in Koh Lipe worrying about how to get back to Langkawi. We explained the unfortunate situation to Ananya Lipe with proof of the ferry being closed and they rejected our cancellation right away saying it was the policy. Our full payment will be confiscated.

Ananya provided the WhatsApp contact of a Thai travel agency, who wasn’t much help because they never replied to my messages.

Yes, we will try to go to Koh Lipe again in the future. And no, we will not stay in Ananya because they took HKD 6,000+ from us for nothing. Talk about an easy way to make money!

Yes, ferry service was part of the reason. And yet, it was Ananya’s cold reply that was most disappointing and frustrating to us.

To fellow travellers - if you are going to stay in Ananya in low season, don’t go through Langkawi and don’t make full payment until you get there. They don’t really care about how you feel once they get paid.

5 star stay! Don’t miss out on this resort!
Pros:

This resort is just beautiful. We walked off the boat and a few steps on the white sand into this resort. The porters were there to meet us and carry our luggage to our room. The rooms were huge and beautifully decorated and they have everything within them and more that you will need. There is also a fully stocked minibar and coffee maker within the room and great air conditioning. The hotel surprised us with a lovely decoration of towels, flowers and petals on our bed for our wedding anniversary also. Our room had a lovely balcony with cuddlechair and pool view also. The pool area has comfortable sun loungers with cushions and the beach area has lots of beanbags and tables to sit and enjoy the beach or have food and drinks. This hotel has literally thought of everything and will not disappoint, we extended our stay a few more nights as we enjoyed it so much. Lovely resort.

Cons:

There was some room renovations going on at the hotel during our stay which could get a little noisy from time to time but did not affect our stay at all.

Excellent
Pros:

The location was everything and the room was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Chris the bartender who was very personable and very proficient in guest relations. He gave us many great recommendations for restaurants and spots to visit and things to do, checked up on us whenever we bumped into him at the resort. He added that personal touch which really made our stay much more memorable.

Cons:

The fact that the spa and massage area was out in the open and there wasn’t much privacy to change or get a massage without people being able to peer into the area

Cons:

Ok, small pool in room is dangerous struggled to get in and out no rail. Decking is loose and sticking up, needs attention. Let the experience down 8 and not a 10 but still a great stay.

Entspricht nicht der Beschreibung – kein separates Schlafzimmer und eingeschränkte Ausstattung.
Pros:

Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut und die Anlage ist grundsätzlich schön gestaltet. Das Personal war freundlich und bemüht.

Cons:

Die Unterkunft entspricht nicht der Beschreibung auf Booking. Wir haben eine Suite mit separatem Schlafzimmer und Wohnzimmer gebucht, tatsächlich handelte es sich jedoch nur um einen offenen Raum ohne jegliche Trennung.

Zusätzlich war das Fitnessstudio nicht nutzbar, da die zentrale Krafttrainingsmaschine defekt war. Dies wurde vorab nicht kommuniziert, obwohl es ein wichtiges Kriterium für unsere Buchung war.

Insgesamt entspricht die Ausstattung und Qualität nicht dem, was man von einem 5-Sterne-Hotel erwarten würde.
