Had to go through 2 receptions. Ate dinner at hotel as nothing nearby. Room ok. Breakfast fair. A lot of stairs at main entrance
Location great for us. Staff were very helpful even though English language not great.
Lock in bathroom dodgy and nearly got stuck in there.
The room was a bit cold.
The night in this Hotel was quiet, but the bed was hard and the pillows not very comfortable. They were not exchanged because the unfriendly receptionist did not understand our complaint. The size and the cleanliness of the room was in order but the sanitary installations in the bath room were not in good shape. The shower was practically not usable as the showerhead was hopelessly congested. We had dinner in the restaurant and the service was excellent, but unfortunately the quality of the food was not, as I sadly experienced during the night. So our memories of this place are definitely not the best.
The breakfast and the pool
Location on a busy main road..
Very loud music by the swimming pool.
Sehr gutes Hotel mit schönen Zimmern in ruhiger und guter Lage..
Quedamos sin agua en variats ocasiones,en ambas habitaciones
We stayed here for two nights on our tour of Uzbekistan. It’s a large hotel constructed in several blocks and we were across the courtyard and along a couple of paths with a number of steps and changes of level. There are steps up to the front of the hotel and we didn’t see a lift anywhere. The hotel placed white sheets over the carpet outside, presumably to catch the dirt from shoes but they were a trip hazard. There was some construction work going on and we heard drilling and clattering.
The gardens are nice and there is a swimming pool although we had no time to use it so we don’t know how warm it might be.
Our room was spacious and old fashioned but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom had been partially updated. We were provided with a fridge and kettle but nothing to make a drink until we asked for cups and tea/coffee the following day. We ate at the restaurant on our first night and were pretty much the only diners. The restaurant is quite fancy and there’s a lovely terrace for warmer days. The food was okay and alcohol is served.
Each block has a separate reception area where keys are given out. We were given a physical key whereas the other people in our group of six had key cards. When we returned to our room after dinner the key didn’t work (unlike the cards) and the receptionist was nowhere to be seen. We had to ring our guide for help and he tracked down the staff member who replaced the key with a keycard. A bit odd.
Breakfast was good, with a choice of cooked items, sweet and savoury, breads and cakes, some fruit and cereals although we had to ask for certain items that had run out to be replenished.
The hotel is centrally located within walking distance to shops (including a shop selling alcohol where we bought wine that we were allowed to take to a restaurant with a private area for such consumption), restaurants, banks and ATMs.
It was more than adequate for our needs in a busy itinerary, a “good” but not “very good”.
The hotel offer a high level of service, similar to any European mid level hotel (like Novotel or something on that range). We got our room upgraded, very spacious and clean with very comfy beds.
The windows have very good isolation even tough we stay on the first floor near to the corner of a busy road.
The location is also great in the middle of Fergana, where you can reach attractions, restaurants, supermarkets and so on all by foot.
The breakfast buffet had plenty of options and a great variety of dessert (which i enjoyed a lot) :)
The staff was really helpful and they also help us to do late check out at no extra cost.
I highly recommend this place for your stay in Fargana.
There is noting that we did not like during out stay.
This is the worst place I have ever stayed. Filthy, rude staff, horrible facilities.
The receptionist literally scammed us by forcing us to pay an additional $50 for a "registration fee" despite me already being registered in Uzbekistan. This was more money than what was shown when we booked. Beware of extra fees and scammer staff members. Avoid at all costs and stay somewhere else. Also, our room was filthy when we went in and it was a hassle to continue switching rooms.
The breakfast
It is November, but it was still cold in the room
Centrally located but peaceful hotel with nice garden and swimming pool. Room was clean and comfortable. Food in restaurant was good. Enjoyed sitting outside
I think the hotel is more set up for groups. When I arrived reception seemed surprised to see me and it took some time before they found my booking
Its a lovely old building that will probably get a big make over in the next few years. I was itching to re do the garden, throw out the soviet era art and fill it with all the beautiful things in Samarkand. The rooms are a good size with comfy beds and very clean. Breakfast was a highlight. Its in a good spot too and easy walking to everything you want to see. If you need a pool then the Movenpick over the road does a day rate at $35
A beer on the terrace was $5 which in Uzbekistan is a lot. Don't try the wine in the fridge it was off and warm. The staff were lovely and very helpful but it would be nice to have a little more service for example on the roof terrace for drinks or a way to really enjoy this lovely space. It will be done up and so I would suggest enjoy it now before the price rockets in future.
