Staff was generally friendly and accomodating. Common areas have a nice ambience in general.
Facilities were much more run down that indicated in the pictures or description. The sheets were not clean (there was a very obvious armpit smell on the edges, I ended up flipping it around bc couldn't be bothered to alert the staff) and the sheets had that weird sticky residue feeling. Room wasn't set up for a mosquito net (but I saw that most other rooms were) -- it had the hook, but no headboard but I jerry rigged something, and there were definitely mosquitos.
Very nice and cozy
Nothing
The only good thing was the location — a decent part of Kileleshwa. The property itself is spacious, though the way they use the space is, to put it mildly, unimpressive.
Tiny rooms, old furniture, terrible food, no electricity — which meant no hot water and no internet. We couldn’t even charge our phones. The Booking app said that a baby cot for a 10-month-old was provided free of charge, but on arrival they asked us to pay 10,000 shillings for it 🤯 We refused. The cot was still in the room by default 🤡 and in absolutely ruined condition 🫠 The rooms smelled strongly of marijuana. We checked out a day early. They refused to refund us. A disgusting place.
The bar was professional, well stocked and priced. Bar staff was professional and helpful. Walk-able to National Arboretum. Close enough to Uber to everything you might want or need.
Different WiFi points all over the property. Signs posted with passwords were incorrect - you had to go find help to get the correct logins.
Mattress not comfortable, but found that it was a pretty standard phenomenon throughout Kenya stays. Similar issue with towels and bedding - scratchy.
Bathroom poorly lighted.
Room could have used a fan.
I didn't stay there
It should be ok for some people
But staff was nice and polite
It has a lovely sitting area under cover, but in the fresh air. So the bar is very good. The location is ok, a couple of minutes drive from a Mall. Room was ok, certainly large. But they did some really basic things poorly. No receptionist and he was really not bothered. I think i saw him on reception once out of 20 times i went past. There was no soap, 1 small towel between 2, not shown round facilities, just to the room, no water in the room, Cleaner didnt knock when coming in, security guard unhelpful. All such tiny things, but so easy to get right. They have a nice building, so looks great in the photos. But i had better service in an unmanned air bnb.
La posizione era tranquilla e facile da raggiungere
We arrived at 3 PM, and there was no one at reception. When we finally spoke to someone, we were told the rooms weren't ready yet. We waited, only to then enter the rooms and not find the correct number of towels. The shower in my room was broken and fixed with tape; the water jet was crooked and flooded the bathroom every time. When checking out, they didn't accept VISA or Mastercard; we had to find an alternative method, which wasted even more time. We needed to leave the next morning, but there was no one to open the gate for us. We also discovered that breakfast wasn't included in the price. Whenever we needed something at the bar (like a bottle of water), there was never anyone there. A friend of mine found the sheets dirty and had to have them changed. I'm sure I forgot something, but I think that's enough.
Turns out that the cost did not include a complimentary breakfast, so I ended up not having breakfast at the property
