The staff was very nice. But the sheets were stained— looks like shoe prints (but appeared to be freshly washed), the bathroom smelled of old pipes and there’s a window between the bathroom and the room so no privacy. The bathroom floor and the terrace were SO slippery when wet. The stairs leading into the room were narrow & uneven. Not a bad view from the room though and breakfast (in another building a block and a half away) was the highlight on a beautiful, quaint veranda. I did appreciate the centralized location while just enough away from the crowds, but be cautious walking on the narrow cobbled roads as cars don’t slow down for pedestrians. Id stay again cuz of the location, price, & breakfast, but just lower my expectations the next time. Its practical and does the job, though certainly not a romantic getaway.

Live like a local! It was great. Nice house, very nice hosts. Room was cozy and comfy. Beautiful view to the sea and over the City. And everything you want to see or experience is very close. You only have to walk a few minutes. We can highly recommend The Local!!! We will be back!
Perfect location and close to everything you want to see in Istanbul. It’s definitely a budget hostel and the rooms reflect that but the free breakfast was good plenty full and the area was safe. Staff were very friendly and the Roman were comfortable if not a little rough around the edges. Would recommend for a budget stay for a few days.

Une équipe sympathique et à l'ecoute des clients. Tout est fait pour que nous nous sentions à l'aise.
Le seul bémol est la faible insonorisation : on entend monter/descendre les escaliers, nous etions à coté de la porte d'entrée donc la porte claquait régulièrement ce qui nous dérangeait.
"The Local" is a beautiful and cozy guesthouse near all the beautiful sites in Istanbul! We walked to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia in a few minutes and also other things like the grand bazar aren't much further. Even though we only stayed one night we had a great time!
The hotel very old and many things you can't find it. But the located is very nice
One of the coolest hostel. Seaview dorm room with balcony is fantastic. Centrally located still on a quite neighborhood. free wi-fi and abundant breakfast spread. Excellent
