Super friendly staff who were always very welcoming and happy to help with any requests. We had a good experience at breakfast and dinner albeit the restaurant was quiet so the team weren’t under pressure. Loved the Elephant Bar and great cocktails.
Nothing. You wouldn’t get to stay at such a beautiful property in many places elsewhere in the world at that room rate, I’ve paid more in the US for a crappy Days Inn!!
Staying at Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh is a masterclass in heritage luxury. From the moment you enter, you feel yourself in the 1920th.
The staff is incredibly thoughtful and attentive. They are going beyond to ensure you feel at home. I would like to mention Fiona, Muhamed, Vin Chanseng, Monorealh and all the others. You can feel the good relations among the international team, and it is due to a good management. Dagmar is the master.
The outdoor pools offering a serene escape from the city's bustle after your tours in the city and outside the city.
The A La Carte breakfast in unique and the chef is doing his best to match your requests.
And I would like to mention the 70th birthday of my wife and the big surprise of the hotel.
We stayed 7 days at the hotel, 5 days and 2 days. We recommend the hotel.
We were group of 6 ,travelling on a river boat from Vietnam to Cambodia.Whilst visiting phnom phen,a wonderful city,we wanted to to visit Raffles, have a cocktail in elephant Bar.We’d done same year earlier in Singapore.Arrived at 12 .00,only to be told that the bar shut till 14 00.Our fault not checking,we were disappointed would miss seeing this iconic bar. Then we met Lin!She warmly welcomed us in to hotel, gave us an impromptu tour ,telling us all about the history of hotel. The elephant bar was opened to let us have good look around.Iconic, and beautiful. We then were taken to conservatory where we ordered cocktails. Thanks to lin,we were so happy to have learned and seen more than if we’d just come for a drink. What an asset and ambassador for Raffles! Thanks you so much Lin!
L accueil des personnels et le cadre formidable. Juste un petite remarque, peut-être mettre à la disposition des clients des journaux (en langue française et anglaise). Merci pour tout et aux personnels qui ont permis un séjour agréable. Bien cordialement. M Thierry PAULME
Wonderful hotel in fantastic location. Staff are friendly and attentive - always happy to help with restaurant suggestions or find you a Tuk Tuk; Elephant Bar staff always friendly with great advice for cocktails; The pools are beautiful; The hotel feels steeped in history
We were not keen on the breakfast system. The food is great but if you are in a hurry, it is very frustrating having to wait for the trolley to come round to you - we would have preferred a buffet option
The bedroom at night was a little light. The lights in the corridor are on full throughout the night and you get quite a bit coming into the bedroom around the door.
Stijl en gevoel van het gebouw. Attent personeel
A touch of elegance and old school class, impeccable staff who can’t do enough for you.
We have just enjoyed a lovely stay at Raffles Hotel Le Royal. The staff here is superb, attentive, and very friendly. The guest's relation manager and Head Butler (French team member) were incredible in ensuring that we had the most pleasant stay; nothing was too much trouble, and their desire to ensure our stay was memorable was very touching, service from the heart! We enjoyed the Gin Bar where the staff here are very knowledgeable about the Gins, friendly, good fun, and there is a selection of about 220! We really enjoyed our evening in the Restaurant Le Royal, the service was exceptional, and the food was absolutely amazing, such a treat! Le Phnom 1929 was a great place for breakfast, the staff were all very helpful, friendly, and wished to please. We ate here on arrival in the evening, and we were looked after by a team member called 'Monday' (name Saakaan?) who was absolutely wonderful, full of positive energy, and such an ambassador for the hotel. The receptionists were always smiling, attentive, professional, immaculately dressed in their uniforms, happy to help, warm, and friendly. The housekeeping team at the hotel is fantastic, so clean, and they pay great attention to detail. The tuk-tuk service was much appreciated and enjoyed. Thank you from Simon & John, 22nd February 2026.
Great atmosphere, old and magnificent frangipani trees and flower beds. Elegant Elefant Bar both modern and in the 30’ spirit
Rooms by the pool very nicely decorated
Just one suggestion for improvement, we had too much lights during the night. Bedroom door should be better framed or have an inside curtain
Slightly too noisy as well in the early hours, gardening and cleaning of the pool area starting 6 am.
After a room change on an arrival due to an event by the pool we were upgraded to a suite that met our expectations. Excellent staff, service and location. The pool was superb.
Beautiful building, really well maintained. Our bedroom was very comfortable with a lovely display of fresh flowers. All members of the staff are well trained and very attentive. Breakfast was a delight with a trolley of fresh fruit, yoghurts and cereal brought to the table.
Nothing
Beautiful, full of character
we had such a lovely stay for 5 days with my gf. location is really good. large space of the hotel is big bonus. it was build over 90 years ago so space wasnt an issue then :) room a bit small but managable. not enough space to 2 open luggage and not enough storage space but its ok. atmosphere in hotel was spot on. everyone is super nice. Pool area is a paradise. 2 pools. One adults only other is for kids. There is enough sunshine during the day. After sun goes slee mosquito comes so spray yourself. Breakfast is top quality level. There is menu with about 25 options and you can order anything as many as you like. Definitely worth to have food there. With tried almost everything and it’s all delicious. There is a cool little gym. Also jacuzzi, little sauna for few people as well as steam room. I used it daily :) honestly it’s very hard to find something wrong with this hotel. Paid 320$ per night with breakfast and for such a money and quality it’s a fair price even in country like Cambodia as everything is top level. In other parts of the world for such a place you would pay at least 3 times more money. So if budget allows it’s for sure great place to experience.
The hotel was lovely. Felt like a resort. Staff was all charming. Breakfast from menu, more western than I like in Southeast Asia. Free Tuktuk to restaurants (no pickup). Beautiful pool. Good gym.
