I stayed here for a week in November and I had a fantastic time. The hotel is amazing the staff is nice and it’s just outside the city making it the perfect spot to unwind after a busy of traveling and work. Just be aware that half the hotels rooms are close to the rails, so request a room away from the rails!
The breakfast in the morning wasn’t amazing but it wasn’t terrible. It was nice to have a hot meal every morning when waking up before work. Sometimes they were out of what I wanted in the morning but overall it was fine. 9/10
The staff is what stands out at this location. The front desk staff is in top of their game. Everyone is really friendly and helpful, especially the Front Desk Agent in the evening. Anish was a pleasure to talk to after a long day of work. Everyday I came back he greeted me with a smile and a welcoming attitude. He made sure my room was perfect. My room was initially facing the rails but He set me up in a quiet room away from the trains right as I mentioned it! His customer service was amazing, every request was met with a “Can do” attitude! He knew all the best spots to eat around the city and all the places to avoid. 15/10
The pool was nice and clean but the jacuzzi was out of order, that was a little bummer. 7/10
Overall a great place to stay, outside of the city and perfectly quiet away from hustle and bustle of LA. Wonderful staff and location. 5/5 would love to sat here again!!
I stayed at this hotel this past week, and I want to highlight the outstanding service provided by the receptionist, Jeah.
My girlfriend spent more time at the hotel while I was away, and Jeah went above and beyond to support her during the stay.
My Girlfriend can be a little hyper and particular when it comes to where she stays, and Jeah handled everything with so much patience and understanding. She not only helped resolve a few issues my girlfriend encountered while dealing with, but she also took the time to find a room that made her feel completely comfortable. Something that mattered a lot to us, especially since we've stayed at this property several times before.
What stood out most was how my girlfriend kept telling me, in detail, how positive her interactions with Jeah. It's rare for someone at the front desk to not only provide excellent service but to leave girlfriend a reassuring and memorable impression for my girl. The way she made sure my girlfriend felt at ease showed real care and professionalism makes the difference.
Thanks to Jeah, our stay felt personal and thoughtfully handled. She represents the very best of what great hospitality should look like. Thank you again form the both of us!
Staff
all great and handy location for sure
Good breakfast and convenient location for my trip.
Good
Wonderful stay
A great value in a convenient location.
Room was clean, amenities good, friendly staff. Easy access. Paulina at the front desk was great she was friendly and detailed and kind. Would stay again!
Great service and attentive staff! Rooms exceptionally clean and comfortable.
Excellent all around. Nice room, delicious food, decent pool and great staff. Shout outs to Anish and Tiffany!
Was there on family business. Room was booked by family member who had a Marriott membership, and ideal location.
Room was excellent, Typical, yet nice breakfast. Friendly staff.
Hotel was good.
Pool was not 100% as the jacuzzi wasn’t available during our 2 night stay. And it looks like it hasn’t been for a while.
The breakfast needs improvement.
The pool towels were really old and rough. Needs replacement.
They need to add more hand-soap in each room. There should be one hand-soap per sink.
The staff and housekeepers are nice, no problem on that.
Location is good too.
My review is based on a three week stay during which I changed rooms four times by request, to experience the overall hotel.
Management/Employees:
The management and employees at Springhill's Suites were all professional, prompt to assist during any inconveniences and by the second week addressed me by my last name anytime we engaged in conversation.
Front desk employees were generally polite and patient while engaging me during a transaction or conversation despite obvious superficiality or apprehensions when my engagement delayed their task at hand.
The hotel employees a diverse team culturally and ethnically.
All of the employees I encountered spoke clear American English, in addition to any other languages spoken.
BREAKFAST:
The breakfast always included Scrambled eggs, waffles, oatmeal with various toppings, one or two kinds of fruits, some bagels, cream cheese, jelly, peanut butter, fruit juices and milk.
Breakfast Hours: Weekdays 6 AM until 9AM. Weekends 7AM to 10AM.
BONUS TIP: Key hot foods ran out by 9:00 AM or earlier during the weekends due to different people running the breakfast area.
BONUS TIP: Put Bacon or breakfast meats on your plate as soon as you get to the breakfast area, especially on Saturdays which are the busiest. They run out fast.
BONUS TIP: You can get a coffee cup with lid from the water area near the front desk to take milk from the gallon milk container. During the weekends individual containers are not available.
Some mornings, there were yogurt and pastries available.
Rooms and Views
I stayed in four different rooms, all of the beds were comfortable.
BONUS TIP: The rooms have a hotel managed Alarm Clock. It will go off at 6AM the first morning, unless you turn it off in advance. This alarm unit has two AC power sockets and two standard USB sockets. (These are the only USB power ports in the room)
Each KING suite room has same setup. Rooms near the elevator which is the center of the hotel, have a slightly different layout.
Rooms have a mini-kitchen counter with a small sink, microwave, some storage space underneath and a very small mini-refrigerator that has no freeze section.
BONUS TIP: The mini-fridges have an auto defrost feature. You may encounter wet food and less cooler internal temperatures. Make sure the mini-fridge door and seal are closing good, leave it closed and it should chill-up again in a few hours.
The desk had two built-in AC sockets and a land-line internet network cable socket (No cable provided) No USB ports. A very bright desk lamp perfect for work. In one room the desk AC sockets didn't work, causing me Laptop battery to drain and shutdown while I was working. I recommend testing the sockets in advance.
The artwork on the walls are large and pleasant.
The lighting in the room was adequate, and the desk light was exceptional for working under.
There was a large couch with a pull-out bed. The main bed had a roll out bed also. The couch wasn't the most comfortable to sit on without a pillow to lean against.
The TV had limited channels, mainly movie, motel, Pandora, several major news channels, YouTube or Netflix if you have an account. No local TV or News channels.
WI-FI Non-Secured Internet was included. The included versions was faster than any other hotel chain I've stayed in. A faster higher bandwidth tier for gaming and intense streaming is available for an additional fee.
The restroom sink and counter was separate from the toilet and shower.
There was a very small closet. One of the smallest of any hotel I've encountered.
The shower was oddly shaped and had a built-in plastic foot stool which felt awkward initially. Water pressure was decent, and hot ware was plentiful.
This location has two primary views. A partial view of the San Gabriel Mountains (North side).
A City view facing the Metro A-Line Electric Train. (South Side)
The windows in the room open three inches on either side, and offer plenty of sound protection when closed, plenty of natural light. The roll down blinds kept the room very dark for late sleeping when required.
While this is a "Pet-Friendly" hotel, I didn't see or hear any pets during my three week stay.
No fleas or bugs in the rooms of any variety.
All of the rooms I stayed in smelled clean, no strong cleaning chemicals within the building which is great for people with allergies and raspatory issues, no strange smells in the rooms.
The air conditioner/heaters are controlled via a wall thermostat. In my first room, it was hidden behind the TV.
Hotel Amenities:
Housekeeping was available every other day. Every day by request, and required every seven days.
The hotel has a mini-market closet with Candy, Chips and drinks.
A big perk if you are a Silver or Gold Marriot/Bonvoy member is later check out times upon request.
I had several visitors, and we were allowed to use the boardroom to play some board games one evening.
The pool is decent sized. I stayed here in August and I only saw people using it a few times, so bring swim shorts.
There is a workout room with two industrial treadmills and several machines.
The second floor has a laundry room with two large washer and dryer machines. They cost $250+ to wash or dry.
Noise:
The hallways on the second floor was always loud, with lots of people talking from inside their rooms.
Rooms closer to the elevator and center of the building have a small hallway between the room door and the main hallway, these tooms had less noise from the hallway, but also had more noise from neighboring rooms.
The rooms I stayed in on the third floor had considerable noise from people walking on the fourth floor.
I stayed in one room that has a connecting door to a neighboring suite. This was a very loud room, especially with the neighbors arguing all day into the evening.
The south facing rooms: A night club is near-by that has live music.
The A-line Train Tracks are next to the parking lot (South facing rooms). Trains pass every 10 to 20 minutes. These are electic trains and only make a Whooshing sound. You can barely hear it with the windows closed and the ac/heater fan blowing.
Safety:
Though I never felt threatened in the parking area or around the hotel, nor while walking the local streets to visit businesses, I recommend keeping alert and aware of your surroundings. This area has a lot of foot traffic due to being near a train station.
PRIVACY:
The doors are very thin and the room shape helps amplify sound into the hallway. Anyone in the hallway can hear what is being said, very clearly.
I observed a guest standing off to the side of a room recording audio with his phone, of a conversation occurring in the room.
If you need to make private phone calls, especially if discussing credit card numbers, birthday, social security numbers or other confidential topics, the restroom has the greatest sound proofing.
EASY TRAIN ACCESS:
If you are traveling by metro-line train in LA County, or want easy transport to several key tourist spots, this hotel is a 6 minute walk to the Arcadia A-Line.
The A-line has several stations of possible Interest, including Pasadena for the Rose Parade or Pasadena City College, Azusa Pacific University and Citrus College.
A-line also connects to Union Station in downtown Los Angeles, where you can transfer to trains for Olivera Street, Universal Studios, The Long Beach Aquarium.
City of Arcadia Sights:
Local sights a short Lyft/Uber ride from the hotel include, Santa Anita Race Track, Westfield Shopping Mall that has a movie theater, outdoor dinning, a Dave and Busters. The Los Angeles Arboretum is a great place to walk around, view exotic plants, a lake, a waterfall and Peacocks.
Near The Hotel:
6 minute walk to REI Sporting Goods.
6 minute walk to Acuity Eye Center.
10 minute walk to IN-IN-OUT burger.
10 minute walk to the local post office.
Check in was easy no hassle. Check out was even better good interaction with the front desk staff
Beds were a bit lumpy/soft. No housekeeping even though I had requested it in the online check-in.
It was unfortunate that the hot tub seemed permanently out of commission. Also, we were there for 5 days and no one cleaned our room.
Good stay
Loved the stay awesome service
