The one saving grace of this hotel was the breakfast team and the breakfast itself, which was outstanding.
In particular, I believe the lady’s name was Anisa, who was wearing a white top in the breakfast area. She approached our daughter, was incredibly warm, friendly and welcoming, and even apologised for the disruption caused by the fire alarm overnight. Her professionalism, kindness and genuine concern for guests were a complete contrast to the dismissive attitude we experienced from management.
The entire breakfast team were excellent. They were smiling, attentive and couldn’t do enough to help. They made us feel genuinely welcome and looked after.
If I am giving this hotel any stars at all, it is because of Anisa, the breakfast team, and the quality of the breakfast.
We have stayed in many Hilton hotels across the UK and abroad and have never experienced service, attitudes, and conditions anywhere near as bad as this.
We checked in and immediately discovered the air conditioning/cooling system in our room was not working. Reception initially told me the hotel “doesn’t have air conditioning” and offered to send up a fan instead. However, when the engineer arrived with the fan, he openly admitted the hotel does have cooling systems, they already knew ours was broken, and it would not be fixed during our stay.
When I called front desk back, the staff member was rude and argumentative, continuing to insist there was “no such thing” as air conditioning in the hotel. I was told a supervisor would call me back “when available” with no timeframe given, while we sat in a boiling hot room with two distressed young children.
Eventually, after giving up waiting and taking the children to the pool to cool down, we spoke to another receptionist in person who was actually helpful and moved us to another room. He was the only member of reception staff who showed genuine care and professionalism. However, when supervisor Aden arrived, he couldn’t have cared less he simply asked if I had the name of the lady I spoke to on front desk and when I replied no he simply laughed and walked off. He was dismissive, uninterested, and appeared desperate to get away from the conversation as quickly as possible. Other guests nearby even witnessed his attitude. It was honestly shocking to see someone in a management position show so little compassion or accountability. We felt humiliated.
The swimming pool area itself was another disaster. The changing rooms were completely flooded and dangerously slippery before you even entered the pool area. The amount of standing water was honestly comparable to the pool itself. There were no paper cups available for drinking water, despite the pool being surrounded by glass and becoming unbearably hot.
Clean and welcoming

Ideal location, room was large and I loved the small balcony, facilities were nice
Spa area was doing children’s swimming lessons so couldn’t really use it to relax walking was a shame. Very pricey for what it is.
The bed was big! Bar food was good.
Tired room. Poor maintenance! Shower tray and sink emptied very slowly. Flashing bulb and toilet seat had to be fixed by handyman. Cobwebs in bathroom! Drinking water left only on 1st day but not the rest.
Great location for NEC
Very expensive for the rooms and also food and drinks.
Well located for NEC
The room was freezing and the bathroom smelt strongly of smoke. The staff made very little effort to sort any of this out.
The photo shows my hand to show how cold the room was. The AC was noisy and did nothing to heat the room.
In fact - it hardly looked like they’d tidied the room
Location, convenience to attend NEC
Outdated, uncomfortable mattresses, needs alot of renovation, parking lacks EV charging for a massive hotel with massive parking lots.
Easy to commute to NEC
Single room- very cramped. Room was very cold, inbuilt heating did not work. Stand alone heater worked but was broken.
Food, gym and pool was very good.
Short walk from the train station and close to the NEC.
Green space outdoor close by.
This is just my personal preference a usb in plug wall charger would have been a benefit. I didn’t take my plug as most hotels have in wall usb chargers. To have this would be great.
The staff kindly charged my phone.
The hotel is absolutely amazing.
Staff were super helpful from the concierge to Luke in the Arbor (breakfast). Food was good and choices were wide catering for all diets/palates.
Cannot fault the staff; all super friendly, helpful and went the extra mile (shout out to Luke in breakfast who offered me a clean knife seconds after mine fell on the floor)
The bed was really comfortable.
The room itself was awful. It felt like I'd been shoved in a shoebox. Given the cost of the two night stay I expected at least a bathroom door!
I have never stayed in a hotel where you open your room door and face a toilet. So this is a single room but why on earth would you not put a door to the bathroom. Not only does one fear people in the corridor can hear you on the loo but anyone knocking the door would have a full view of the loo.
It does feel like Hilton are creating these tiny rooms to pack more people in but I will not book another 'luxury single' room with them again. I think I would have found it wholly depressing if I had stayed more than two nights. Thankfully I was attending a conference so I was out all day. Cannot fault the bed and bedlinen though.
To name but a few things in my room;
1 - telephone didn't work
2- a/c room heating didn't work. There was a small radiator under the desk that I had to stretch the cable to plug in but given the small size of the room having this on was a bit of a hazard.
3 - view out of the window was really depressing - just a view of a corrugated roof.
4 - the wardrobe was so shallow I was barely able to hang up my clothes for two days without it being able to shut
5 - no drawer space at all for smaller items of clothing/underwear
6 - the shower door handle pinched my hand several times getting in and out of the shower, water leaked all over the floor from the gap in the glass door
7 - the kettle was stuck to the bottom of a drawer and the power lead was strained when I tried to plug it in. Absolute hazard having to boil a kettle pretty much on the floor of the drawer
Convenient for the NEC although not well signed . Lots of places to get food at reasonable price in the evening. Really excellent choice of cooked breakfast. Swimming pool, although I didn’t know about this before arriving .
Helpful staff at breakfast .
Grim view out of my room ( flat roof and back of hotel ). Window didn’t fit properly and was cold and draughty .
Very big hotel and very busy at check in . Only two lifts so long wait for a lift and I couldn’t see a staircase .
Comfortable - nice gym - good night's sleep
Too big - long queue to check in and lots of waiting for lifts
Ok
The bar food had little choice. The main restaurant was booked. Reception did know so we walked all the way to find we couldn't eat there. We were stuck with the bar food
