Room was dirty & dilapidated, would not recommend. Staff were friendly though.
Fantastic hotel with a great location. We stayed in the hotel for our wedding weekend and the staff couldn't have been more helpful
It's got a great location and walkable to lots of perfect West End highlights
Peter the front desk manager was a real asset to the hotel.
Pay rise needed!
Convenient location. Uber drivers have to meet you sometimes near the back and side alleys that are not well lit and so feel sketchy with rough sidewalks or no sidewalk. Probably an issue with their navigation as the front and north side of hotel is nice. Front reception driveway seemed to be for private arrivals and taxis. Just FYI.
Staff helpful and friendly except the breakfast staff need to be a little more welcoming and should greet first, briefly explin process, then a simple line like, "Good Morning. Have a seat and do you mind if I get your room number?" Instead of "Can I get your room number" with no greeting or direction. This might have been the staff onhand that day. The food was professionally arranged and organised and wad good, however.
The plusses were excellent University and Botanical location. Clean rooms and reception area. Away from super busy streets but within walking to shops and subway.
Very helpful and friendly staff, nice, large rooms with good furnishings. Great location
the once elegant grosvenor is def. showing its age. cracked sink, spilled coffee in drapes. noisy, ineffective bathroom fan. shabby shabby, not so chic.
Great location but really tired in parts. Bedrooms were in need of a good clean and updating, and bathroom was in desperate need of replacement. The sink was covered in cracks/damage that had been filled in, and we had an issue with the toilet not flushing (and then it wouldn’t stop flushing), which wasn’t overly convenient.
The hotel breakfast was sadly dreadful and not worth paying any extra for. It was a very basic buffet with low quality ingredients/cooking that you would expect from a budget hotel. Such a shame, as this restaurant used to be really nice and they could do a lot more to make a great breakfast experience.
Too expensive for what you get. Rooms are too hot and bedrooms have single pane glass which means you can hear the very loud road that passes by the hotel. The rooms didn't feel very clean. But the staff were very friendly.
Fantastic location and beautiful building. The hotel held parties and receptions most nights we were there, however, and the noise levels meant we couldn’t sleep.
This hotel is in a good location but is very tired. The whole hotel smelled of stale smoke and it desperately needs new carpets and a deep clean.
Very good hotel in all respects
Best hotel in the best location in west Glasgow. Will stay there again for sure. Loved it.
We were only here for 1 night but enjoyed the friendly service and a quiet drink in the bar.
Lovely room and great location but service let down our stay. Check in took ages as member of staff couldn’t seen to understand I had booked two rooms and didn’t let us know we needed to give car registration for parking. Bar was shut at 10:30 and told we could order drinks in lounge. This took over half an hour and member of staff seemed disinterested and rather rude. They then insisted on taking every room number rather than letting us put drinks on one room!
Lovely hotel and plenty of choices where to eat or drink as onsite restaurant and a gin bar which makes the best espresso Martini
This hotel is fine but quite dated. It used to be owned by the Hilton but no longer is, although some of the old Hilton signage still remains. The pictures online make it appear more opulent than the reality. The staff members are friendly and the location is excellent. Buffet breakfast is good.
Hotel is a little frayed around the edges (some mould in the bathroom grout, chipped furniture etc) but, otherwise, generally ok. It is in a perfect location if looking to attend an event at the university or west end more generally but, if not, there are nicer hotels closer to the city centre. Would I stay again? Yes, but only if I had a reason to like on this recent stay (to attend a university graduation) ceremony).
My husband and I booked the large family room through Expedia. Two days before our stay, the hotel contacted us to inform us that there had been a flood, and unfortunately, our room was affected. They offered to move us to a smaller room with a partial refund. Given the short notice, we had no choice but to accept, even though we were disappointed to be downgraded—especially as this trip to Glasgow was for a special occasion.
However, more than a week after our trip, we have still not received the promised refund. The hotel has also stopped responding to our messages and inquiries. We are extremely disappointed with this unacceptable treatment and lack of customer service.
The Hotel is "tired"
The staff on the front desk was unwelcoming and totally disinterested in their job.
We had a great stay. Perfect location in middle of West End of Glasgow with super restaurants etc close by. The staff were lovely. In particular,Michelle at reception was a star. We shall be back.
