Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel

Smoke smell upon entering. As a non-smoker that’s a big turn off and it’s hard to feel clean, the smell is in all the fabrics. Had to buy febreez and air fresheners. WiFi is terrible, cuts off frequently.

Price was ridiculous for a hotel without air-conditioned rooms in mid-summer. When we complained, we were told that ‘AC wasn’t usually provided in Scottish hotels’ (we live here and that is completely false). We were eventually provided with a fan, which didn’t work. Phone in room didn’t work, so we couldn’t call reception / housekeeping. All in all, not a good experience, particularly as hotel had apparently just been ‘renovated’.

It's expensive for what it is. Past its best, probably needs some investment. We paid £550 for 2 nights in a double room which had a broken sink and very dusty skirting boards. Couldn't get BBC1 or BBC2 on the TV, only STV. No Netflix, no Sky, no football. Staff were all nice, but we will stay somewhere else next time. Was just too expensive for what it was.

Rooms were generally comfortable. Pillows were too hard but I couldn’t get them changed. The cooking during breakfast was hit and miss sometimes having to wait for 10 minutes for eggs to be ready - chef not keeping an eye on flow of food. However the quality of the food was good

Quite basic for the price paid. Walls paper thin so can be noisy

Our room number 235 had a toilet which would not fill or flush properly.
This was reported to reception on the first evening, Thursday.
This became more problematic and on Saturday morning was reported again, before we left for the day. We were by this time using the plastic bucket from the bathroom with tap water to flush.
We returned around 9pm to find that the toilet was still faulty and, to cap it all, the room had not even been serviced.
Had we not been out and about most of the time, a different room would have been requested. We were not offered that option at any time.

Decor extremely outdated. Carpet on walls of the lift. Television didnt work in bedroom. Bedroom window view awful. Chairs and furniture worn. Hotel not what you expect when you see online photos

Breakfast…Poor fruit selection, only melon and bananas
Eggs.. covered in cress and pepper. Bacon etc overdone… obviously cooked a long time before.
Size of glasses in the room and staff unwilling to give us others. This was rescued by a man on reception.

Apart from breakfast and no fridge in room was ok

mało urozmaicone śniadania. Na niedzielne śniadanie zszedłem pół godziny po oficjalnym terminie otwarcia hotelowej restauracji. Większości personelu nie było w pracy, podobnie niedostępne były śniadaniowe dania.
Przy zameldowaniu się znalazłem pobieżnie sprzątnięty pokój, z resztkami śmieci.

Side of hotel we were located on overlooked Waitrose and its loading bay. Woken to delivery trucks at 5:30am, banging pallets/cages and workers talking loudly amongst themselves.

Wasn’t a restful nights sleep, disappointingly!

No air con in room which made it uncomfortable

£160 per night and No fridge in the room.

Small room basic room. Disappointing as I picked this over other local hotels as it was rated as 4 stars but the room didn’t match up to that.

Lifts were very slow and only one working when we arrived car park stressful found car park eventually we were told the top of the car park we did see signs for private parking so parked accordingly still got a notice on window to move or it would be removed
