Please note, the property offers valet parking only and it costs £30 per day. Guests must not park their own car unless using Clifford's car park opposite, which is run by the council. Please be aware that the Clifford's Tower is undertaking some vital conservation works to protect the tower and make improvements for visitors - this will restrict your view of the tower slightly from some of the rooms, but everything will be back to normal later this year. Sorry for the inconvenience

High bar prices
From our arrival to leaving we couldn’t fault the hotel, staff very polite, room spotless, comfy bed. Perfect breakfast. And in an excellent position for exploring York. I could imagine it gets very busy at peak times so booking is recommended .
Just returned from a 2 night stay. To celebrate my wife’s birthday I booked an upgraded to a King Suite and we were not disappointed. The hot water to the shower took a while to run through but we were made aware of that with a notice in the bathroom. We had a meal in the hotel on the first night which was very enjoyable but a special shout out to the restaurant staff who went that extra mile to incorporate my wife’s celebrations. Breakfast excellent and all the staff were very friendly throughout
The food, the welcome, the speed of check in, the efficiency of the staff, the friendliness of the staff, the bed - huge!
A choice of pillows would have been nice as they were feather and a little hard?? Also the room was cold and the fan heater was noisy at night, this also turns itself if when there us no movement in the room so woke up cold.

Unfortunately the coffee and milk weren’t replenished even though we were staying for a few days - cleaners made bed and took some dirty cups (but left used glasses we had brought up from bar). There was also a very disgusting chunk of something (possibly food) on the spout of the kettle from a previous guest. Towels were replaced after a single use even though we had hung them up in line with the signage to say we were happy to use them again - not great for the environment
Front desk staff were exceptional, listening to our requirements.
Breakfast was lovely with eggs cooked to order.

I had a fantastic stay. From check‑in to checkout, everything was absolutely flawless. The room was spotless, cosy, and offered a stunning view overlooking Clifford’s Tower.
Our conference space was excellent, and the food was outstanding—both in the restaurant and throughout our event. Every member of staff was incredibly helpful, friendly, and kind.
Thank you for a truly lovely experience. We will definitely be back!
