Amazing location — just a 3-minute walk to streets full of cafés, restaurants, shops, and more. The room was cozy and clean, with a comfortable bed and a small desk suitable for working on a laptop. The housekeeper was very kind and helpful. Considering the price, this room was an excellent choice.
A nice old hotel. The oldness could be considered a selling point, but some things were simply broken (like a leaky shower or holes in the bed linens). Overall, the staff was very friendly, it was fairly clean, close to the main attractions, and there were plenty of cafes nearby. It's perfectly fine for a few days' stay :)
It's worth repairing the plumbing, updating the bed linen, towels, and other consumables, and leaving new soap or toilet paper in the room without reminders.
Very good value for money👍. The communication with owner was OK, he tried his best to help me in my request 🙏
Πολύ όμορφο παραδοσιακό ξενοδοχείο με όμορφο δωμάτιο και πολύ οικονομικό, ο οικοδεσπότης ήταν εξαιρετικός, πολύ βοηθητικός και φιλικός.

Our flight was delayed and we still had two hours of travel before reaching the hotel. We had confirmed that we would be arriving in the evening.
When we arrived in Turkey, our mobile data didn’t work: we couldn’t connect to the internet or reply to messages immediately. So we hurried to get there as quickly as possible.
We arrived in front of the property at 10:26 p.m., which was 26 minutes after the end of the check-in time: the door was locked, and there was no answer to the doorbell, phone calls, or messages. We stayed 45 minutes in front of the door, helped by two locals who even shared their mobile internet data with us and tried calling the hotel themselves, without success.
Yet we had already paid for the three nights.
It was only thanks to the internet connection shared by the locals that we discovered the property had sent us a message at 9:30 p.m. (30 minutes before check-in ended), and then nothing after that.
So we were left on the street late at night with no solution. We had to book another hotel urgently.
The next morning, still no response from April Hotel, neither by phone nor by message. We even went personally to the hotel, and nobody was there. Even Booking couldn’t reach them.
We also found out that the hotel had cancelled our reservation without informing us beforehand — which normally does not comply with Booking’s rules.
When we finally met the manager in the afternoon, he gave several contradictory explanations, refused any responsibility, and claimed he couldn’t approve the refund, even though Booking had confirmed to us that it depended solely on him. The discussion became tense, and he ended up calling the police.
The Istanbul tourism police themselves told us that the manager’s behaviour was not normal and that he was “not a good person”. After several interventions from Booking and a lot of pressure, the hotel finally agreed to the refund — on the condition that we did not file a complaint with the police.
This was a basic, small hotel. The beds were comfortable and it was in a quiet location. The staff was friendly but we only saw them on check in/out. There was a small kitchen like area in the room with a kettle. You couldn’t cook there but it was convenient to have. We had breakfast each morning at the Costera Hotel rooftop restaurant, just around the corner from the April. (See picture)
Location was just ok. We never felt unsafe and we came back several evenings after dark. The small bath was a wet bath/ no enclosed shower and everything was wet after use!
Property management was exceptional, super polite and attentive staff! Cok tesekkurler 🙏
Great value for money, great location and great staff.
Tiny bathroom.
Many mosquitoes enter the room if you sleep with windows open to let fresh air in.
The AC was not working, but since it was October, it was not a big issue.
The hotel is centrally located yet tucked away on a quiet side road, so there’s virtually no street noise. My room was charming and tastefully decorated. The staff were friendly and always happy to answer questions or offer helpful tips. Aside from the downside mentioned below, I definitely recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again if I return to Istanbul.
The only downside is that, since the building is mostly made of wood, noise from the room above can be quite noticeable and might bother light sleepers. I personally use earplugs, which helped a lot. I was also lucky that the guests upstairs went to sleep earlier and woke up later than I did, so their movements didn’t disturb me much. If you’re sensitive to noise, I’d recommend trying to book a room on the top floor.
Struttura in stile ottomano, zona silenziosa, camera pulita e Ali fantastico ci ha aiutato sempre. Vicino a tutte le attrazioni.
Unico appunto il bagno un po’ piccolo
A perfect little hotel close to everything. The staff was super polite and helpful. We really liked staying here
