Everything, the facilities had all you would want from a hotel and more! Even had an orchid garden, it was a stunning place! Indoor and outdoor pool was great, the gardens were just amazing :) The breakfast was tasty as well. Staff were very nice :)

What a lovely 9 night stay at the Suite Hotel Eden Mar to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. We were so happy with the suite provided
(1141) it was very spacious and comfortable and the flowers and bubbly left in the room on the day was a lovely surprise. Our board was bed and breakfast which is ideal for us because we like to eat out at night.
The breakfast was so good. Lots to choose from and the staff were so helpful and friendly. This is our 3rd stay at this complex and quite frankly we wouldn't think of staying any where else. The whole vibe of the place makes you feel welcomed and the hotel and gardens are kept in such good condition. Would highly recommend the PortoBay complex.

We stayed at Suite Hotel Eden Mar, part of the PortoBay group, for three nights in mid-March and honestly couldn’t fault the experience.

Our room was incredibly spacious and very well equipped. It was great to have a fridge, microwave and even a small hob, giving the option to prepare your own food if you wanted to. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was slightly dated, but this didn’t affect our stay at all. From the balcony we had a lovely view overlooking the pool area, which was a really nice bonus.

We were visiting to celebrate a friend’s birthday and must have left the birthday card out in the room. When we returned later, the hotel had kindly left us a bottle of Prosecco, which was such a thoughtful touch and really made the celebration feel special.

The reception staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We went to reception quite a few times with questions about things to do and places to visit, and every time they were patient, informative and happy to suggest plenty of options.

One particular highlight was when they arranged a private taxi tour for us around the island for seven hours. Our driver was incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable. We simply told him the main places we hoped to see and he quickly planned a route that included so many additional viewpoints and spots along the way that we wouldn’t have discovered otherwise.

The hotel’s location in relation to Funchal was also really convenient. If you’re happy to walk, it’s essentially one straight road into the centre and takes just under 30 minutes. Alternatively, Bolt was very easy to use in the area if you preferred a quick ride.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would absolutely recommend Suite Hotel Eden Mar to anyone visiting Madeira.

Location good. Rooms had everything needed. Staff helpful and breakfast full and varied. This hotel was excellent in many respects with beautiful gardens and lovely spa.

We stayed at 2 previous Hotels before we found Eden Mar. Now we would never stay anywhere else. It is amazing how many people we met who have returned to Eden Mar for many years. The gardens are amazing, and there is lots of space for everyone. Indoor pools as well as outdoor are excellent. I took advantage of the Aquaerobic sessions twice a week. We like to be able to have a kitchenette so Eden Mar is ideal for us, though there are good eating places nearby as well as in the Hotel and its sister Hotel in the same gardens, Porto Mare.

Third time at Portobay Resort, first time at the Eden Mar self-catering hotel. Great stay, helped by fine weather throughout. Comfortable room, great breakfast, four pools, indoor (heated) and outdoor, and glorious gardens overlooking sea, which, even in busy periods, never seem crowded. Staff friendly and helpful as ever.
