My husband and I loved the resort. Great location although too foggy to see the volcano, couldn’t be helped! Room was wonderful. Had a junior suite. Not top of the line but awesome for the value. Bed was super comfortable. Great feeling of a “bungalow” type room. Hot spring pools were inviting and clean. Great staff especially Jorge. 😀
We loved our stay at Montana de Fuego. From gorgeous views to great amenities, we would love to stay here again and would recommend it to anyone. Special shout out to Jorge and Carlos for making this an extra special stay!
Ugh! Poor start, reception gal was very snarky to the client in front of us. Place looked cute, but the noise from the road was extremely loud. Limited night time lights, couldn't see to get to our bungalow as motion light wasn't working. Lots thru out were the same way. Walk ways were uneven and lack of lights made it unsafe. Our shower tile had a hole opposite the drain and water poured out, I assume under the bungalow (scary wondering when snakes or other critters could get in). Thermal pools were barely warm and dirty. No one answers the phone (used what's app) so you can make dinner reservations or to complain about above issues or that the tv/wifi wouldn't work. Best thing about this property was the massage. Overall, definitely wouldn't recommend.
Amazing location, great amenities, and exceptional staff! Our room was spacious and well maintained. We especially loved the creative towel animal displays each day.
The pool area was relaxing and well-kept, and the hotel’s proximity to so many excursions made exploring so convenient. The views were absolutely spectacular and made our stay even more memorable.
A very special shoutout to Jorge! He was incredibly friendly and attentive, greeting us by name and always making us feel genuinely welcome. He also has an amazing eye for spotting sloths — he became our very own sloth-spotting expert on the hotel grounds! His warmth and enthusiasm made all the difference in our experience.
We joined the free night walk with Brandon, and even though it was pouring with rain, it didn’t bother him at all. His enthusiasm was incredible — he spotted so many animals and even took the time to help us take great pictures.
We didn’t walk very far, but we saw an amazing amount of wildlife. The complimentary night walk will remain a wonderful and memorable experience for us. Thank you, Brandon!
Our travel agent selected Montana de Fuego so we were pleasantly surprised. It was a great location, secluded but near restaurants and a great coffe shope (Britt). Kenny greeted us when we arrived and did a great job making us comfortable and checking on us. The grounds were beautiful and serene, the hot springs were surrounded with foliage and flowers that force you to appreciate the beauty. We were able to get massages and treatments at the PALMA mud spa on site and that topped the whole experience off. Amanda, Martha, and Maritca were so accommodating. This was the perfect start to our girls trip celebration entering into our 50s!
The best all inclusive in La Fortuna, Very good restaurant and many options in cocktails and other drinks, Very nice rooms and great views
My massage was wonderful with Gabticla at the spa today. The staff in the whole resort was wonderful. The mineral baths were awesome also
We are from Canada and traveled to La Fortuna and stayed at Montana De Fuego for 3 nights.
The hotel had beautiful grounds, with many things to explore. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The staff were amazing and very accommodating. The breakfast buffet was good lots of variety. They had 3 mineral pools that were very nice to relax in.
We got to see a Toucan, a sloth, colourful frogs and many other beautiful birds during our stay.
We did the free night tour around the property with Brandon and was amazing we seen some cool things.
The view of the volcano was stunning from our room. In all this is an excellent place to stay and would recommend 100%
We had a fantastic stay. Beautiful volcano views. Highly recommend night tour with Jorge. Service was very friendly and prompt. Hot springs were nice, though one most “hot”/warm. Did a lot of adventuring outside of the hotel but enjoy some “downtime” at the springs.
The best option in La Fortuna for quality , views and all inclusive plan, We had a very nice room with excellent view and very nice beds
We got the all inclusive plan, which was for as the best plan, As we wanted to explore the most and no time waiting finding a place to eat, The resort offers every meal and more, Very nice and great rooms
Very nice hotel and amazing rooms, wonder spa service and nice restaurant, in one word perfect resort for a great vacation in la fortuna
The staff here were incredible! Brandon and Roxana at the front desk so were so helpful and extremely warm and welcoming. We had such a great experience there! The beds and pillows were SOOOOOO comfortable! I love the feel and the view of the volcano was like a dream!
Wonderful hotel with amazing rooms, Very large room and very clean , We had a very nice meal at the rocca grill restaurant, too bad we didn't get the all inclusive plan.
Nice resort with very nice spa service, We had a big room facing the arenal volcano, Very quite place and good restaurant.
Wonderful hotel and I think is the only one in la fortuna with all inclusive plan, So there is not worry about looking for a place to eat, We did a lot of activities in the area, La fortuna has much to offer.
To continue my review from last evening, tonight we went on a night nature walk with Jorge. He was extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and entertaining. He made sure everyone in his group got to see and photograph the animals we came across. I was very impressed how well he spoke english. The hotel is very fortunate to have an employee like him.
I feel like I was completely lied to by the reviews and the photos the hotel markets itself with. My family of five is squeezed into a tiny dilapidated room where basic things like lights and the room safe don’t work (yay carrying around five passports!). And the restaurant is terrible — the thought of eating there everyday is making me genuinely upset. We saved up for years for this vacation and booking this hotel is my biggest regret. I feel taken advantage of and am considering demanding a refund and switching hotels.
Checking was easy. Stsff very friendly. Property is big with activities. A little farther from town tha. I would have liked. All in all very good
