A friendly restful stay in a historic property near beautiful parks and museums.
Pros:

The breakfast was good. Tasty scones. The food was pretty average but the setting is lovely.

Cons:

My only (small) disappointment was the old under the window HVAC unit. It always amazes me that so many American hotels use these things when Mitsubishi splits are quieter and more efficient. I would have thought a historic property would have a better ventilation system. But the room was spacious, comfy and well appointed.

Wonderful play to stay, great place to empress guests with pretty and delight
Pros:

Wine at the bar till 11pm, breakfast was good. Love the staff everywhere, the concierge was amazing, the staff in the dinning room were so sweet.

Cons:

The rooms were no different then a Quality Inn, other than additional $90 on a Sunday night
Would have liked a small info booklet on the Mansion, like a 5x7 20 page history account. the Mansion was beautiful

Pros:

I spoke to Tom the GM before I went and he was so kind and helpful, he even had gifts for us since it was my mom’s birthday while we were there. It was the perfect location for us. James was the first person we met walking into this beautiful quaint English style bed-and-breakfast. James was warmhearted, attentive helpful and just a delight to speak to. The pillows were perfect and breakfast was delicious with options. Having cocktails in the lobby bar in the evening was fun as well. Bravo Glidden House!!

Best location in Cleveland!
Pros:

Charming old building with modern updates. Convenient to so many great attractions!

Cons:

Uncomfortable pillows. Decent breakfast compared to a Holiday Inn, but not up to the standards of a really special hotel.

Wonderful stay but need ear plugs and eye mask!
Pros:

With few exceptions this property was far superior to what I was expecting. It had beautiful and spacious public rooms including a bar and a breakfast room. An all day coffee, tea and water set up and an included breakfast. The breakfast had eggs, sausage and waffles--with a variety of toppings from salsa to the eggs to chocolate chips for the waffles. Fruit, yogurt, granola and oatmeal, pastries, coffee, tea and juices. The art lining the hallways was beautiful and interesting. I would have liked a guide to the art! And we arrived at 10:45 in the morning for an 11:00 tour at the nearby museum and just wanted to park at the hotel, but they were all ready to check us in, even that early. Very welcoming. Room was spacious and well appointed with a large bench that was perfect for luggage, a seating chair, a desk, lamps and usb ports. You could walk to all the museums, a coffee shop just behind the hotel and a very nice French restaurant about a block away.

Cons:

The bed was perhaps the softest I've ever tried to sleep on. The walls are so thin, I could literally hear the man in the next room snoring, and there is really no "room darkening" blinds, so the room is never really dark.

Charm and history don't make up for an inferior hotel experience
Pros:

Perfect location in many ways, especially for the great museums...the cma, moca cleveland, the new natural history museum, a few very good restaurants and a good walking neighborhood. The staff is very responsive. The breakfast is a highlight.

Cons:

One wants to love this place for its history, charm and very idea of it but the standard hotel experience is inferior and not competitive, either to nearby hotels and especially other historic hotels in the US. It might have been 25 years ago, but it's not now. The wear is noticeable everywhere. Natural woodwork is great, but not when it's been heavily nicked up from years of (dis)use. The elevator is dingy. The beds and linens are way beneath most modern budget hotels and this place is not a budget hotel. The lighting is uneven...from perfect to garish. The bathroom was clean but appeared dated to the 80s. My suite was seemingly very clean and the furniture comfortable, but after a lot of use the allergens just can't be vacuumed away. I woke to bad allergies and cut my visit short. The final indignity was being charged $15 for surface lot parking.
