La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Pontoon Beach

The picture is very old it is not a new hotel. Staff barely speak English not much knowledge how to take care of issues either. Checked in quick set us up on second floor I walked over to get a cart for our luggage the clerk stopped me said you cannot take cart to upper floors. Never heard that before?? So he moved us to first floor I went in room to check it over it only had one chair with no arms. Not a relaxing chair. So I went back to desk asking if he had any rooms with better chair. He said no all rooms the same you can upgrade to get sofa. But you must pay difference. I said ok. So then he goes to looking for a different room. Not on computer we just go up and down halls checking not knocking he uses master key to open an occupied room. Scared the poor people in room. Never knocked. I thought wow. So he then went and called someone for help he had no clue what to do. So they finally figured this out got us in a room on first floor with sofa. Very cold turned heater on 80 took two hours to warm up. Bed was horrible and sides of matress stained. I never looked under sheets to afraid. Then the tv would not come on. Went to front desk the clerk and worker guy came to room with different remote got it on. They left. The tv was set on mtv. You could not change channels. The volume worked off and on worked. Not a good night. I never asked them to come back to fix it. We have stayed in some very nice La Quinta inns this is not nice. Other hotels in area. Don’t choose this one.

The staff is very nice and friendly. The rooms are clean and refreshed daily. There was heavy snow and very cold. Parking was cleared quickly.

Very nice, hidden Gem
I have family and friends around so have stayed in a handful of hotels in the area, and this time I tried LaQuinta in Pontoon Beach hotel. It is upgraded and in good shape. Clean and comfortable. Hotel offers complimentary meeting room for birthdays, get togethers.

I was really satisfied with the room. This hotel is done up recently, so everything seems new and in working order. Breakfast included buffets with diverse hot and cold items, fresh local produce, made-to-order stations (like waffles), specialty breads, muffins, meats, and unique beverages. We have decided that this is a better option for our future stays.

This was a Budget hotel, so the price was right! The only few quibbles we had is that the Wi-Fi would not connect, and our T-Mobile cellular service was bad there. Also, they had a fancy coffee machine, which was out of order all three days we stayed. They also had a popcorn machine downstairs, but we never saw any popcorn in it.
Fairly central location, but not much immediately around. It is adjacent to a police station; we felt very safe!

Dogs peed in the floor while having breakfast. Bad odor all over hotel. Floor in room by the air was wet all the time.

The staff here was superb!

Breakfast food was not hot. Toilet didn't flush properly. Needed a plunger after each flysh. Even hotel staff stated this was a continuous problem. Bathroom could use more cleaning attention as its older.

AC worked just fine. Hotel was quiet. Road construction made it difficult to crossover the bridge but that's not the hotel fault and hopefully they'll be done soon.

Only because of the flushing problems I would have to think about staying there again.

I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The room was not properly cleaned upon arrival — the room had unpleasant odor. At my arrival staff was kind and responsive however at check-out, the same staff member requested that the his staff member complete a check of my room before I was provided receipt of from my day long stay. The front desk staff received a text of a picture of a small stain on the white sheet and stated he would have to charge my account for a stain on the sheet of the bed; I stated that I did not make the stain and he responded oh yes you did. Other guest who were checking out rooms were not checked during the check out process just MINE. I felt it was racially motivated. He refused to explain the rational for providing additional charge on my stay. Stating he would not argue with me dismissing me by not responding to any of my additional questions.For the price I paid, I expected at least basic cleanliness and decent customer service, but unfortunately, this hotel fell far short. I would not recommend staying here.

The access to Interstate Hwy nearby was closed making it
difficult to get to eating places. Not the hotel's fault, but it detracted from the experience.

I had a wonderful stay at La Quinta Inn & Suites in Pontoon Beach! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in—always ready with a smile and happy to help with anything I needed.
