Very clean and staff are super!
Bar and restaurant not great
Location was good
Did not have a restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Would have liked a sit down restaurant
Very comfortable and spacious room. Well kept property that is close to the historic district but probably not a walk for most people. .
Onsite parking is expensive ($45/night) but there are less expensive options available, including street parking.
Pleasant and helpful staff. On site restaurant is convenient but relatively expensive. Numerous restrictions nearby within walking e.
Overall a good place to stay. Staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Great location and clean rooms. During a three night stay, the fire alarm went off two times during the night causing everyone to evacuate. The front desk was nice to provide a refund of one of the nights, when asked.
Very friendly and very clean. Location was great!
Wish there had been a microwave in the room.
Very friendly and accommodating front desk staff, and cleaners! I accidentally left a watch and some jewelry in the room, and it was turned in and returned to me shortly thereafter.
This is not just your hotel....but I really miss a 24 hour coffee/water station.
Front desk is extremely rude and unprofessional. Paid $45 valet parking and was not accommodated for it. Had out keys confiscated and would not return them. Man at the front desk told me he was “waiting on my next move” as if he was threatening me. Definitely will no be staying here in the future and recommended everyone who can to stay away if possible. Management needs major work.
Clean, staff nice and location
Water main break caused no water to hotel. The hotel had no contingency plan. I have a special needs child and could not wait until the issue was resolved. I had to move hotels. No offer or compensation made by hotel. Very disappointing that such a hitel had no backup plan, nor did they offer any solutions or accommodation for guests.
We needed to be close to MUSC for medical reasons so the location was important. The free shuttle was SO convenient taking us there and back as well as to town so we could enjoy the sites and dinning.
Meanwhile the view, brightness coaziness of the large airy lobby, bar and restaurant is amazing. A beautiful terrace over looking the sparkling pool even in February, the river and the Marina brought joy to my heart not to mention the sunset.
The room was very clean of good size and comfortable. Bathroom and shower are sparkling.
No, this is ́not a 4 star. The restaurant has a limited menu
Personally it was convenient at on the night I was not well enough. Otherwise in a city with so many fabulous restaurants, why not take the shuttle and enjoy getting out.
Excellent location!
Nothing to complain about.
We stayed at this Marriott in April when we came for college orientation. It was acceptable. I am not sure what happened to the rooms but…the suite we were given had trash near the sofa - rust in the bathtub - not even a shower cap or soap. Since we arrived late we stayed. We asked to move the next day - they didn’t even offer to comp us a bottle of water. We will NEVER stay at this nasty place again. Our suggestion - refresh the rooms, or at least, clean them so they look like you made an effort.
Location is good
I travel to Charleston quite often for business. As a Titanium Elite member, I choose Marriott properties and have been extremely satisfied with the majority of their hotels with the exception of the Courtyard by Marriott Charleston Historic District. Other than their ideal location the hotel and their customer service lacked southern hospitality that the area is known for. Their rigidity left me extremely disappointing. Beware: check your bill before departing, do not take the representatives word for anything, and ensure that a current bill is emailed to you after. This hotel is only interested in short term profits rather than maintaining a high standard for continued customers.
FYI: If you want an exceptional hotel with excellent customer service and superb management support choose the Courtyard Mount Pleasant (owned by the Hotel Bennett) instead and uber/drive in to downtown. Also, the price point is much, much better.

My experience this stay caused me as a life-time gold member to give away my remaining points (nearly 350,000) because I will never stay at a Marriott again. The staff and corporate know the details, and I am sure yet another form response will follow this review.) But this is my feedback as a customer. I don't expect to keep arguing about MY feedback.
Can't Speak highly how accommodating they were from how seamless it was to check in. Meals were fantastic and always on time. If we ever come to Charleston again we will definitely being staying here again.
