It was wonderful
I had everything I needed in my room was clean and I would stay there again
Very friendly staff , but disappointed that the restaurant was closed for renovation( not informed before hand ) and rooms need renovation (or painting at least ) .
I thought I was entering a 1970’s B&B. The entrance was extremely shabby and off putting. A bit creepy. No lift available. Staircase carpet very thread bare and shabby. Bath, toilet and sink were sparkling clean. Tiles round bath seemed new. Bedsheets we’re clean. Pillows had slight sweat stains on them when I looked under the pillow slip. Hence why I travel with my own pillow. Decor was really shabby. Stains on ceiling tiles, carpets and divan part of bed. Paint peeling off radiator. I get the feeling it’s a work in progress. Or I hope it’s a work in progress. It has potential. It’s suitable for a one night stay. I’d consider it again if I had no choices.
The receptionist could not find our room bookings even when I spoke to her over the phone and has promised to me that rooms were all sorted before arrival. As I gave her our booking id she couldn’t find the other two rooms. We were blessed that Craig was there to sort it all out for us and that we did not have to move rooms or worst to move to another hotel. The room was boiling hot when we went in there was no fan inside and as we open the windows we can smell car fumes coming from outside. Dirty curtains, dated furniture and carpet was dirty the bathroom was clean but the glass shield does not help the water going into the floor.
Property was nice and clean. The bathroom was a bit small and the room was warm with no working windows.
The room was clean, but very basic and needs redecorating. Shower was broke and had to improvise to get a shower. The cleaner/hotel know about this as it was propped up when we got there. When tried to shower, there was no shower gel.
Had a very poor nights sleep as could hear the traffic outside and the people next door decided it was funny to argue and play a game of guess the password to enter the room. When they did, they made lots of noise and argued. Woke kids up too.
Was not asked how my stay was at checkout. The guy who checked us in was really nice and could not do more for us!
Pro:
central location
Free parking
Friendly and helpful staff
Plenty of restaurants and food places within 15 minutes walk
Cons:
Car park is small
No customer lift
Friendly staff who were very helpful. Hotel location was very good. Hotel was good for the money I paid
Satisfactory as bed for night and early start without breakfast. Pleasant vegan cafe nearby. Hotel restaurant closed.
Room and bathroom were lovely and clean, the hotel could do with a refurb. Threadbare carpets on the stairs and the walls in the rooms could do with some tlc. Probably the worst sleep Iv had staying in a hotel as the mattress was just springs and clunked every time I rolled over. the staff on the desk were lovely and chatty.
Hotel had no hot water, i was asked to run the taps gor 10/15 mins, Room 215,
Following ngt nothing had changed so i spoke to reception they sugested going for a shower at their sister hotel the Imperial,
Not happy with this i complained agaig, and was given an upgrade to a dbl in the Imperial for no extra cost,
The staff where excellent !
and you get what you pay for with OYO
Church bells chime very frequent, seagulls noisy throughout the night and room could do with a fan or aircorn as it gets really warm, other than that room is alright and has what you need.
Really dated hotel mould on windows and curtains
Bathroom tidy which has helped to gihe a better review
Room was ok but hot.
No bar or restaurant open due to covid but offered room service.
Ordered breakfast but the chef didn't turn in so got continental.
Town hall bell goes off every 15 mins
The staff Emma, Alex and the breakfast ladies were very helpful and so friendly. Made the stay so much better. It’s a lovely building but a little tired and my mattress needed changing.
there has been some good improvement in the service and room facilities etc. Hope this continues. Excellent value for its location
Good clean hotel with excellent Italian restaurant. Only problem is the lift was broken during our stay. Would definately stay again.
Tidy, Clean and Staff Friendly
