The property over all is nice but the pool was closed and was not informed before booking
A little rustic. Ample size rooms on separate cabanas. Some are on the ocean. Some construction in progress. Very welcoming and friendly. Good breakfast. Only instant coffee.
The parking lot was too far from our room.
Food was exceptional the restaurant was my favorite part of my experience.
The staff are not friendly or problematic
Very quiet. Need more flexibility to leverage the facility amenities like tennis court.
It’s a lovely resort especially with the ocean view rooms. You wake up to the sound of ocean waves. Really nice.
Service is however appalling. You are given 2 small bottles of water daily but not allowed to bring in any drinks purchase in reputable shops including water. But they don’t have a 24 hour bar you can buy from. It’s scandalous really. This is a very warm tropical climate.
They have indoor table tennis and pool table. But the air conditioning is off. They promised to put the AC on but this never happened for 2 days in a row so we stopped using that facility.
This is a fantastic resort but not suitable if you want freedom to bring in your own food, and drinks including water.
The Kayake experience was very good and sensibly priced.
It’s quite a distance from Cotonou 45 to 60 mins so bear this in mind.
Overall what would have been an excellent stay was spoiled with unreasonable rules.
Ouidah is my favorite place in the whole world and this hotel offers a peaceful getaway that I would choose over and over again. I recommend the sea view rooms, though the lakeview are nice as well. I just personally like being beachfront. The staff go above and beyond here. Food and drinks are delicious and decently priced for a resort. There are not a ton of activities, but the staff will organize games of water polo in the pool and you can canoe or paddle board on the lake. It's also quite close to Ouidah town where you can enjoy restaurants and cultural and historic sites.
There are no restaurants nearby, so you can only eat at the resort. There is no wifi in the room. The staff's attitude is average and the efficiency is very low! There is nothing to do every day. The sea here is not very clean, and the waves are very big, which is not suitable for snorkeling and swimming. Pay attention to the big waves and safety. It costs 50,000 to call a taxi to Cotonou Hotel, but it only costs 20,000 to find a car yourself. You can consider it yourself, and the hotel staff will stop you from negotiating the price and car yourself.
I love having a relaxing getaway weekend at Casa del Papa. Lingering over brunch with a view of the ocean is lovely.
A beautiful, safe resort with excellent food and drink options at the restaurant. The breeze off of the ocean was amazing. All staff were helpful and friendly. Off the beaten path! Good A/C in the room and a nice hot water shower. It's a bit odd that the resort doesn't allow you to bring in much of your own food or bottled water. I understand that this is to encourage guests to dine on-site, but I have a severe food allergy and therefore always make sure to have my own safe foods. Regardless, this was probably the best property we stayed at during our West Africa trip! Try to stay on the week days for a very peaceful experience.
Nadie sabia lo que era el VIP ACCESS. Las habitaciones no cuentan con WIFI.
The beach is nice so are the swimming pools. Pricing for a coca-cola can (0,33 L) is 8-10 x the pricing along the road.
Don’t belive the 4.8 star rating. This is not a luxury resort. It is extremely basic.
Beautiful property with amazing reviews. Excellent AC and comfortable bed. Dining experience was great .
Nice decor and architecture.
And that’s about it.
Room was like being in jail.
Internet not working at all.
Food large choice but all same taste
Seaside area better than the laguna, but yet far from our 4-star standards.
Its a beautiful place for everyone to be,but i think they should have more of outdoor games because the town is far and not everyone might want to go out to explore..
What a magnificent place! I have no idea how this has any bad reviews. The location is the best you will find anywhere in the region, the property is super well kept, the staff is fantastic and the service excellent. Even the food was far beyond expectation at very reasonable prices. Definitely returning.
My stay was amazing. Friendly and cautious staff.
Intéressant !!
C’est permet de décrocher et ça fait du bien !
