Suburban Studios at the University

STAY AWAY!!! Place was absolutely disgusting. Reeked of cigarettes. Burn holes in blankets, urine stained sheets, black substance on pillow cases. Burn marks on tub, floors were dirty, bathtub wasn’t cleaned. I requested a smoke free room btw….Literally stayed for 15 minutes and my skin was crawling so I decided to leave. Now they won’t refund me for what was supposed to be a 3 night stay. Even though the manager said I would get a refund. The photos are entirely deceptive, and I’m pretty sure they are not from this specific motel. I’d say that’s fraudulent advertising. I was in MB to say goodbye to my grandmother who came home on hospice. Reporting to the BBB.

Nice staff, cozy beds. Lots of things broken like ice maker, lights. It’s low budget for sure.

When checking in, I was on crutches. The staff, Forrest, was very nice and polite. He accommodated me and put us on the first floor. He shared details of the property and made sure we didn't need anything else.

The staff was nice. Place was run down. Smelled of mold and sewer. Everything was leaking. Not the greatest accomodations.

The room was absolutely disgusting I should’ve demanded a refund this is where meth heads live I’m not sure why this place is still open the shower pressure wasn’t even enough to wash a new born baby, there were spiders in the room old blood on the sheets the bed feels like 1000 people have hunched in it, we slept in the car it was that bad. Everybody leaving good reviews must be on drugs too. Save your money, save your everything he’ll do not spend your money at this place run away as fast as you can if you see it.

Our stay was not what we expected, was not portrait as advertised, although the reception was really nice, was quite disappointed,
And while checking in was told we were to get a king smoking.
When i specifically asked for 2 queens.
The advertisement never mentioned that it was a econo lodge i would never have booked as i prefer a hampton or Hilton garden.
The gravy at breakfast was ice cold. And hard boiked eggs were old.anyway i will be more careful in my selection of a hitel,and will never go through hotel.com they also pre charge the room before we got there,with no warning. I did not want it on that particular card that never happened to me.all in all bad experience. Except for carmeli

My reservations could not be honored, because no room was available.
Also, the motel could not be easily identified, because the reservations were for Suburban Studios at the University, and the name on the hotel was Comfort Innn, with no visible address.

The air conditioner in the room has a good inch of filth where the air comes out. I wipe things down with sanitizer when I stay places. Some places were filthy. Then, someone tried to enter the room when I was asleep. She was from housekeeping. When she was confronted, she blamed us because we did not have out the Do Not Disturb sign. She had knocked twice, but did not announce that she was from housekeeping. It scared me.

Room had a funny smell, the bath mat had all kinds of dirt & red stains on it, there was hair in the shower & on the toilet seat & the bathroom sink was dirty

Good soild place. I always like to stay here when coming down to Myrtle Beach.

This was the perfect location for my family to stay. First floor made it especially easy to take care of our pet. great accommodations and close to our daughter who lives off campus. reasonable prices and great breakfast too!

It was very creepy to stay there as a woman and I was charged for something I don't even know what for on top of my initial charge. I also was left with dirty folded bath towels with pubic hair rolled up in all the towels. There were also spiders all around my door and inside the hotel all around the door and mirrors. It felt spooky during my stay. This place is also crawling with men everywhere and all they do is stare; it's very creepy for a woman.

The staff was very nice and friendly. It was a nice day.

Booked the hotel after being involved in a minor traffic accident involving hitting a deer and needing a place to stay for the night. The night manger was disrespectful and had an attitude with other customers waiting in line. The following morning we were awoken by the room above our room making excessively loud noise. We left the room at 9:30 to go eat breakfast which was horrible. The milk was room temperature, hot bar was empty, and flies in the pastry container. All that aside, went back to the room to wait for the transportation to find the maid had already stripped our beds and started cleaning the room. It was evident we were still occupying the room because our belongings were still in the room. I went to the front desk and told the clerk that we apparently were being forced to check out because our room was no longer available. Had to sit outside and wait for our ride that was coming from 3 hours away since our car was no longer drivable. By far the worst hotel experience I have ever had and will never stay at this hotel or recommend it.
