Winchelsea Motel

We got room 5 and as soon as we walked in it smelt soooo bad of damp. We knew we were getting a cheap room but damp is always a concern. Staff acknowledged and apologised but that’s where their concern ended. I’d rate this one if the poorer stays across regional Victoria in recent times. Wouldn’t stay here again and was very surprised re reading the reviews and rating for this hotel. It was really poor and didn’t meet our expectations at all. No smoke detector, door wasn’t secure, bathroom is an open area into your room without a roof. Traffic noise is also a concern. Do yourself a favour and stay in Geelong.

Practical sized room for an overnight stay. Bathroom shower water wet a larger area than I’d like, hot water was excellent. We dined at the same venue, simple well proportioned meals at very good value and taste.
We would stay again for sure.

Is a lovely place to stay. Ordered dinner from the pub, went across to pick it up and wasn’t ready, was then delivered to our room, really wasn’t expecting that. The food was amazing and generous portions. Lovely service and clean room. Not all the lights were working properly in the room but still enough light to do things. Bathroom and shower layout not really good, water from shower went everywhere and had to use a towel to dam the overflow. But all in all a very nice place to stay, thank you for having us :)

Convenient location, friendly staff must mention Aaron who made us a very nice tropical cocktail and excellent food (large portions). Very clean nice rooms, we enjoyed the stay a lot.

It was an absolute relaxing stay. I got away from the business to study and the room and environment was just perfect to focus on my assignments 😊. Lovely room and grear new shower! Very comfy bed and pillows. Thank you! 🙏

We checked in very late. Rang ahead to let them know and they turned the heater on for us. Great country hospitality.

Didn’t know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. Was on Sunday night and there were food trucks and music. Room was nice and clean and cheap. Bar staff were a little overwhelmed with the amount of people and would have been nice to light the wood fire

Basic motel in good condition. Meal at the pub was tasy and fairly priced.

Cute little place to stay, but could have been cleaner. Lots of cobwebs and dead flies in the windows.Towels and linen were all clean and fresh, and the staff were very friendly also.

Carpet must have been last cleaned in the last century, most light globes missing or broken, shower when switched to handheld sprayed water out of broken pipe and not head
