We stayed 3 nights in a lovely large room with views across the valley to the Castelo which is lit-up at night. Check-in and parking right outside couldn’t have been easier. The room was spacious with enough room for a couple of lounge chairs as well as the balcony with more seating. Best part was the bed and bedding which felt luxurious. Bathroom a decent size and spotlessly clean. A good spread for breakfast with attentive service for hot drinks. If walking, the old town is about 15 minutes away including a long staircase or 20 minutes around the road. The Castelo is a further 15 minute walk up a fairly steep incline. Beware of GPS directions as ours sent us via some very narrow old town streets which was unnecessary. We later saw signposts via main roads which would have been much easier.
A beautiful hotel enjoying wonderful views to the castle. The Michelin Star G restaurant was absolutely outstanding.
The dishes were so beautifully presented with intense flavours & interesting combinations, & the accompanying wines first rate. The staff were wonderful.
As well as the 4 courses we were treated to 4 different amuse-Bouche, the whole meal lasted nearly 3 hours.
For a really special occasion and an incredible experience I encourage you to dine here, you will not find better!
This is a fantastic hotel. The rooms are large, comfortable and ell appointed with balconies overlooking the town and castle. The staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant has one Michelin Star and, in my view, is worth two, while the restaurant service is the best I have ever had, anywhere. The breakfast, served in a light and airy restaurant with good views, is fully up to the best Parador standards..
In our 3 week visit, stayed at 5* hotels except this 3* and it was The Best. Room = huge; bathroom = huge with walk-in shower, good pressure; good AC; clean and comfortable; private balcony overlooking pool and the Castle. Good typical buffet breakfast with tables set with linens and has a tree growing right out of it. We enjoyed our very expensive dinner at G.
We stayed for 3 nights at this lovely place. The staff at the front desk could not be better. Helpful, always there to please you, The room was spacious, clean, clear and had a balcony with a beautiful view which allowed us to see the castle of Bragança along with aspects of the pool area. The hotel is pet friendly, which is of great value for us. Socks was delighted with all the attention he had during our stay. As for the breakfast, the fruits were amazing, the cheese of Trás os Montes is something! And they have the "marmelada" to eat with the cheese. What is that? The woman that makes it deserves all the happiness she could have. We were very satisfied with our stay. We intended to rest after a 15 day trip in Spain and we can say that we accomplished our purpose.
We stayed 3 nights at the Pousada for our wedding anniversary. If you like to be in a quiet, cosy place with an amazing view, this is the spot for you.
Quite large room, very comfortable bed, good a/c (and we needed it, as it was cold during our stay).
The breakfast room has the same amazing view over Bragança's castle, self-service with plenty of choices, very efficient service.
The Michelin-star G Pousada restaurant is amazing.
They offered us a smaal surprise for our wedding anniversary, which was quite nice.
The only thing preventing me from rating the overall stay as "Excellent" is the bathroom, it surely news renewing, feels old and lacks some amenities you would expect in such a wonderful place.
Lovely hotel in a lovely city. My wife was travelling on business and we decided to do an overnight trip as we had a 6 hour drive each way.
The check-in process was quick and simple and they offered us an upgrade on our room without us asking. The room was exactly like the pictures and had an amazing view of the castle. We have an electric car and they have free charging which fortunately was available all the time we needed as the hotel was not particularly busy.
The breakfast buffet was good and the breakfast room itself is very interesting with a tree growing from the stone floor and then to the outside through a window that has been glazed around it!
We didn't get to use the pool as it was out of season and far too cold, but it looked like it would be worth a visit in the summer with the kids.
The Pousada is lovely, the rooms spacious & well appointed. The breakfast is disappointing. Instant coffee…yuck. Asked for cappuccino, got hot chocolate … yuck. A nice selection of fresh fruit & good breads. We dined 2x at Restaurant G. The service was excellent … but somehow the dishes, though beautifully presented … all seemed to taste the same? Second night cheese board was exceptional! Order that if you can.
It was cold weather when we arrived in the afternoon, and so was our room! Fortunately we wanted to go out for a walk to see the sights so we heated up the room while outside. Pool was closed, no other spa or other activities. Breakfast good. The restaurant is supposed to be Michelin, but quite expensive and we chose to go elsewhere. Beautiful views from the hotel. Quiet.
Very nice stay with top restaurant.(Michelin Star)
très bien confortable , une vue sans pareille ,mais service un peu leger pour une pousada mais impecable au restaurant très agréable picine
Nossa estadia foi espetacular!! Lugar maravilhoso. Recomendo
