I would rate this hotel as a two-three star hotel. It is quite old. The lobby area has been renovated somewhat, so is presentable, but unfortunately the rooms and room levels are less desirable. Old and dirty carpet throughout with a musty smell. Dead cockroaches in the stairwell. Beds were ok but on the soft side. Our room did not even have a proper closet - it came with a makeshift clothing rack. On the plus side, the location is convenient to Cambridge, the staff were very nice, and everything in the room worked. Nice amenities in the bathroom. Nevertheless, overall less than I would have expected for a Hilton branded hotel. Should have stayed at a Marriott.
We had a very good stay at the Freepoint Hotel Cambridge, especially for the front desk team! Kayla was just wonderful always smiling and even keeping for us our favorite candy! Raven, Angel, David, with Kayla were very friendly and professional! They all did a great job and we are thankful for that! The hotel is well located, not in downtown Cambridge, but its quite and with some shopping and a Whole Foods and a Traders Joe very close by. There is a hotel restaurant which we tried only for breakfast. We needed decaf coffee and they dont serve it, but there is a Starbucks inside the hotel and they do serve decaf, so that was our breakfast place every day, service is good and their employees were kind and professional. Housekeeping did also a good job, you need to place the Service green card to have service every day. Isabel was very nice and friendly. The Freepoint needs a little update on some of the areas, and on the bathroom floors, but everything looks very clean. Don’t forget to try their afternoon cookies, just baked and still warm, they were delicious! Will stay again at the Freepoint Hotel Cambridge for sure!
Had a great stay at the Freepoint Hotel in Cambridge! Easy walk to the Red Line, Starbucks attached to hotel and Dunkin across the street, plus a CVS, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods right there.
Wanted to shout out a thank you to Tim, Lea, and Kayla! I left my nice coat in the lobby after dinner and the next morning they tirelessly worked to find it for me! It was cold and I needed it! Thank you for a great stay and for all of your help!!
Location was convenient.
Disappointing stay overall. The staff were consistently rude, unhelpful, and lacked basic customer service from check-in to checkout. Simple questions were met with dismissive responses, and there was no sense of hospitality at all.
The hotel itself is decent and fairly clean, but the beds were uncomfortable, which made it hard to get a good night’s rest. While the property has potential, the overall experience fell well below what I expect from Hilton standards.
Unfortunately, I would not stay here again.
-The location was good
-There was a nice walking path nearby
-The heater did not work and blew cold air only
-The view was awful-1st floor parking lot outside
-Our room was not cleaned despite asking three different staff members
-My car was damaged in the parking lot during the night by someone that swiped into it
This was my first time staying at this hotel and will unfortunately be the last when I travel to the area. First of all the service was great, for the most part. The women at the front desk who worked both in the morning and evening were very nice and helpful. I had to check rooms due a cleanliness issue with the sheets and couch, however after bringing it to the attention of the front desk, they handle it quickly and provided me with a nice clean room to move into. Another lady who work the breakfast one morning was also fantastic and had great service and energy. However, upon check out, the man who worked the overnight shift was quite rude and unhelpful. I came to the desk to check out and review my final bill before leaving. When asked if I could receive a printed receipt, the man refused and said my bill is not final. I told him I would be checking out today and will not charge anything else to the room. The man became snarky and said we cannot print a receipt because we don’t know what could be charged to the room after checking out. I stated that it didn’t make sense since I am checking out now, and only once I told him the front desk workers yesterday were able to email me a receipt no problem, he finally decided to print one for me. Before handing me the receipt, he wrote multiple times all over the paper “Not Final”. I did have a few questions about the bill, but because of how snarky and unhelpful the man was, I decided to leave since we had a flight to catch and didn’t have time to deal with him. Other guests came to the front desk with similar requests and I saw him treat them with the same attitude as well. Overall, the stay and service from everyone else was great, all issues were handled quickly and efficiently, it just the poor customer service from that man left a bad taste in my mouth.
Stained couch, pillows and carpets. Dirty q-tip on floor in the bathroom and hair in the shower. Also $25 to park your car
Well mannered staff, Kyrone and Caesar were very hospitable when it came to accommodations. Definitely will be back.
