Staff and comfort of bed
Bathroom smelt of cigarette smoke
Hotellet ligger bra, nära Holland Park tunnelbanestation. Området är trevligt och tryggt. Frukosten var jättebra!
Rummen var helt ok, engelsk standard. AC och kylskåp fanns men fyllde knappt sin funktion.
Trafalgar tour base - easy access for coaches
some staff were quite surly but reception staff were great
It is the team from GM on down that makes the stay great. Many years returning to the property and the feel of family greets you upon your return. Hilton PLEASE give ££ to show much needed love to the property.
Our stay at the Hilton London Kensington Hotel on Holland Park Avenue was extremely disappointing and far below what we expected from a hotel that Hilton considers a 4-star property. We stayed for 15 nights, booked 4 rooms, and paid approximately $15,600. Unfortunately, the experience was more comparable to a budget motel than a luxury hotel.
The service was consistently poor. Whenever we requested towels or other basic amenities, they would only arrive after several reminders, often taking half a day. Housekeeping was equally disappointing. The rooms were never properly vacuumed, the bedsheets and pillowcases were never changed during our stay, and it appeared that staff simply ironed the comforter to make the bed look fresh. Cups and glasses in the room were never washed, so we had to clean them ourselves. Even the coffee mug in the room was cracked and was never replaced despite remaining there throughout our stay. The bathroom mats were also never replaced.
The rooms were very small, and the air conditioning barely worked. The rooms felt like furnaces, and we had to request table fans just to make them somewhat bearable. The toilet flush would only work once, after which we had to wait about 10 minutes before it could be used again.
The bed quality was also terrible. Every time we moved, the beds creaked loudly, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. We woke up every morning with body aches due to the poor-quality mattresses. As a couple, we intentionally booked a room with two single beds because it appeared slightly larger than the room with one queen bed. However, the beds constantly slid apart because the wheel locks did not work properly, making the sleeping arrangement even more uncomfortable.
The overall cleanliness of the hotel was poor. The hallways had a persistent unpleasant odor, and balls of lint remained on the carpet for days, indicating they were rarely vacuumed.
Breakfast was another disappointment. The menu was virtually identical every day with no variety. The pre-made fried eggs were rubbery and cold, so we had to order freshly cooked eggs each morning and wait a considerable amount of time for them. Although there were croissants, bread, and pastries, they were exactly the same every day with no effort to offer any variety.
Overall, this hotel does not provide the level of service, cleanliness, comfort, or maintenance expected of a 4-star property. Considering the premium rates charged, our stay was a major disappointment, and I would not recommend the Hilton London Kensington Hotel to anyone expecting Hilton's usual standards. Hilton should seriously reconsider classifying this property as a 4-star hotel until significant improvements are made.
I didn’t like the property
property was so old so dirty smelling really bad definitely not worth the price at all
The breakfast
The room very tiny and overpriced for the price old decoration
Breakfast was OK but not great
Bathroom was far too big and extended into bedroom area making it smaller.
Asked for my room to be serviced twice and it wasn't done at all.
Wardrobe was far too small and had to take ironing board and robes out to make room for clothes.
A very disappointing stay for how much it cost.
Considering the price I paid I didn't expect such a drab and undecorated room on arrival with ceiling tiles skew whiff above my head in the bathroom which was 50% clean and the bathtub did not tempt me in apart from taking a shower. No paperwork or brochure for information purposes. The worst however was discovering that the bottom fitted sheet was torn in 2 places on opening the duvet cover to get into bed. Not a great way to start the night!
Location was good
Although the location was very good, there was an unpleasant odor throughout the hotel, and the air conditioning in the room was quite inadequate. In addition, the telephone in the room was not working properly. Unfortunately, the staff did not take any action to resolve these issues.
Room clean and comfortable with all that is needed.
Bathroom a bit shabby but adequate apart from sink basin plug sticking in hole so could not drain. This was on our last
day so not really an issue.
Breakfast, location, friendly staff
Shower was very poor, shower head had abit of running water through it which varied between warm and cold, shower out dated and needs replacing, considering a Hilton brand you would expect a lovely shower facility but instead was out dated and hasn’t been updated since year 2000. Housekeeping didn’t replace new tea/coffee and left the used one and didn’t replace these facilities even though we had a two night stay
