Good location. Nice people. Updated clean rooms.
My room on street and it is so Super Loud! You hear everything anyone is saying.
Charming Hotel, Everything fine.
Nothing
Everything. Location. Nostalgia. Courtyard. Bar. Courtesy. Clean. Old time charm
Location, quiet, large room, comfy beds and linens, pretty.
Weak water pressure. Very loud AC!
Second time staying at Provincial, it's excellent. 5 stars all around. The line cation is top notch, very close to Decatur and all it's temptations. Close to French Market.
Very private hotel area, Bar on site and near the French market.
it is a walk if going to canal, however you can always catch an Uber/Lyft to the end and then walk back. Bring walking shoes. It is also only a few blocks from Frenchmen street. Hotel is pay to park with concierge, however parking around the area can be expensive.
The location and vibe
The bathroom was a bit little
Location, comfortable beds, great staff
Cold pool
Really good location Right in the heart of the French Quarter
Coffee machine in the bathroom, I feel this is unhygienic, we didn’t use.
Towels frequently had marks on them and didn’t appear clean.
the $240 ‘hold’ on card was a bit excessive(which was actually a debit from the card to be refunded)! I understand swiping a card in case it’s needed. But not actually taking $240 (this was in case we charged anything to the room which I found slightly odd and excessive)
Centrally located right in the French Quarter

Hotel Provincial is located in historic buildings on the edge of the French Quarter. It is independently run, not a chain hotel. These are the two primary reasons for staying at this hotel.
We had requested a quiet room away from the street and were assigned a first floor room close to the outdoor swimming pool. Being on the first floor meant there was regular foot traffic outside the room as well as hearing voices at all hours. This was disappointing.
The king room was fine. It was clean and the fridge was very quiet, not disturbing us. We prefer firm mattresses and this is what we had in our room so we were happy. Train lines must be somewhat close to the hotel as some early mornings (possibly all mornings?), we heard three trains tooting their horns repeatedly.
Housekeeping did a generally OK job but we used a lot of the plastic cups for hot drinks and had to call to get them replaced but were provided with coffee instead. The coffee provided is Community Coffee, an LA based company.
We also dined at French Toast one morning. This was a mediocre breakfast as the biscuit was just a regular store bought biscuit. Tip: If you're staying at the hotel, you can walk to French Toast via the parking lot at the back of the hotel.
Also, there is considerable construction on Decateur Street behind the hotel so it's difficult to walk from there to the French Market close by.
Staff are friendly and professional. The bar person at Ice House wasn't particularly friendly but I enjoyed the cocktail he made.
Would I stay here again? No but if you like historic buildings and have a good tolerance for noise, you'll be fine. The location is great because it's near Frenchman's Street, the French Market and Jackson Square.
Overall: eight out of ten.
Well maintained. Great location. Comfortable bed. Great bar. Having French Toast across the parking lot was very nice since no restaurant onsite.
Would have been nice to have a small food pantry onsite.
Molly was a gem at the front desk.
No microwave...should put at least one per floor.
