It was near the rail; one stop from the Space Needle. Perfect location.
The hotel restaurant was very expensive and the food was just okay.
We had a local staycation at the Westin over Memorial Day weekend. Despite showing up around 1pm, a room was ready for us. We booked city view but had nice partial water views including a glimpse of the Great Wheel. The hotel was very busy with cruise ship passengers, but staff maintained composure and service despite the crowds. Room was spacious enough, beds were doubles which is less ideal than aueens but we made it work. Location is unbeatable, steps to the Westlake light rail and monorail station and near anything you could need downtown. Only real negative is the “destination fee” of approx $27. They give you $22 back in dining credit if you use it, but food is quite expensive ($40 for breakfast buffet, cocktails nearly $20) and we ate off site. The bike rentals or Argosy tour is only for 2 and we had a party of 4. I’d prefer if the cost of doing business was just included in the room rate.
The hotel itself has an excellent downtown location and is very convenient for exploring Seattle. The property has a beautiful lobby and bar area, an indoor heated pool, and beautiful twin towers that give the hotel a grand tall presence and a distinct character.
Our stay at the hotel had a few issues initially, and things did not start exactly as we had hoped. However, what really stood out was how the hotel team handled the situation once the issues were shared.
The team made sincere efforts to improve things, and those efforts were noticed and appreciated. We were also upgraded to an accommodation with beautiful views, which made the remainder of our Seattle stay much more enjoyable.
Chelsea, Senior Rooms Operations Manager, was professional, responsive and genuinely helpful throughout. We also appreciated that Reagen, Operations Director, personally reached out, which showed that guest experience and satisfaction were being taken seriously.
A special mention as well to Mr. Juneja, General Manager, under whose supervision the team demonstrated professionalism and commitment towards guest experience.
No hotel stay is perfect, but what matters is how concerns are handled, and in that regard the leadership team showed professionalism and a willingness to make things right.
Thank you to Chelsea, Reagen, Mr. Juneja and the wider team at The Westin Seattle for making our family trip a memorable one.
Easy to find from Link Rail, easy walk to Pike's Market. Good location. Felt safe walking around, but you do need to always be aware. A little out-dated rooms, but comfy bed, good views of city. Room on smaller side. I would stay there again, good prices.
We got charged for parking even though we didn't have a car and told the check in reception that---so double check your bill. The staff corrected the error once I noticed it---but I almost didn't notice.
Nice rooms
The mixup on our room..twice.
Breakfast was the best, plenty of options all tasty! Its pricy but convenient..
Nothing
Very disappointed with our experience at The Westin Seattle.
We arrived early and fully understood that check-in would only be available at 4PM. That was completely fine with us. We were advised to leave our backpacks at the luggage area while waiting.
However, the service we received from one of the older gentlemen handling the luggage was shockingly rude and unprofessional. After serving the family before us, he looked at us and responded with a very hostile “What!” the moment we approached him. His tone and attitude were extremely disrespectful and unwelcoming.
It honestly made us wonder whether this was racism towards Chinese guests or simply poor behaviour from certain staff members, because the treatment was completely unacceptable for a hotel carrying the Westin name and reputation.
A hotel of this standard should ensure their staff are polite, respectful, welcoming, and properly trained in customer service — especially towards international guests. First impressions matter, and sadly this was one of the worst welcomes we’ve experienced.
We travelled all the way here expecting hospitality and professionalism, not arrogance and disrespect. Very disappointing start to our stay.
Me encantó toda las instalaciones. El cuarto excelente muy cómodo.
Tremendous hotel. As good as ever. Nice staff, well appointed, *quiet* rooms. The best location. Been staying here for almost 40 years and the price (accounting for inflation) is exactly the same. Services in the lobby aren’t as plentiful but overall great hotel. Breakfasts aren’t cheap but perfect, waitstaff (Amy!) are very nice.
Location
Wi-Fi didn’t work, phone in room didn’t work/hold a charge so we could not communicate with the front desk about the WiFi. Front desk hung up on us twice after transferring our call and not having a “ticket number” for the WiFi issue. Wi-Fi issue never resolved and neither was the room’s phone. They lost our luggage and we missed our ferry as no one was in much of a hurry to help us find our luggage. We’re Marriott Envoy members and recognize that our experience is unusual- but we had two rooms for our daughter’s college grad and some of these amenities mattered when we were on an already tight schedule.
