Clean, friendly staff, great location. Pillow menu is not something I expected, it was nice to see. The bathtub was huge really great for a nice soak after a long day of walking.
The hotel staff were nice, BUT the hotel itself was a problem for me. The beds are very, very soft - the kind you completely sink into, and the kind that are really bad for backs. I slept on the floor all the nights I was there, as good sleeping posture was impossible in those beds. I asked if I could change rooms, but was told all beds were the same. Those beds need changed, or boards need to be added between the box spring and mattress.
Nice hotel in a good location. Room clean and comfortable bed. Free snacks and hot drinks readily available in the reception area. No restaurant but good breakfast in the cafe diner next door. Limited opening hours / days of bar. Needs some TLC as decor is a bit tired.
I'm so glad I chose to stay at Chancellor; it truly exceeded my expectations. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The location is unbeatable: convenient, safe, and close to everything I needed.
The room was cozy, comfortable, and equipped with everything necessary for a pleasant stay. I was also pleasantly surprised by how quiet the hotel was. Even though it's located on a very busy street, the windows blocked out most of the noise, allowing me to sleep through the entire night without any issues. I never heard noise from other guests on the same floor, either, which made the stay even more relaxing.
The hotel had a warm and inviting atmosphere. I often saw people enjoying the bar area, which added to the feeling of security and comfort. Unfortunately, I had plans every day and didn't get a chance to check it out myself, but it looked like a great spot to unwind.
Another highlight was the value for money. The price was very reasonable, and the quality of the accommodations and service made it feel like an excellent deal. Housekeeping cleaned our room every day, and the hotel was consistently spotless throughout our stay.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!
It was a pleasure to stay at the Chancellor Hotel on Union Square, a family run hotel with character and historic origins from 1914. The staff are helpful and accommodating and do everything they can to make for a comfortable stay. My room rate was very reasonable, making this always my hotel of choice in San Francisco. Great location, near good restaurants, easy walking distance to so much. For me, always a good experience!
This is an older hotel but it’s still got it! The decor is charming. The rooms are clean. They have cookies, fruit, coffee, water, and tea available in the lobby. The daily happy hour was nice as well. The cable car stop is across the street on the corner, making it easy to get around. It’s right in Union Square which makes it perfect for shopping, dining, and meeting up for tours. There’s a Walgreens a few steps away too! There’s no AC but it wasn’t an issue. The temperature was fine and there is a ceiling fan. The only thing I could complain about was that the water in the shower would stop periodically and I’d have to keep turning it back on. That was weird but I’d still stay here again. I highly recommend.
I have a soft spot for old, classic constructions, but I often find myself in such buildings, annoyed by things big and small that don’t work.
That is NOT the case here.
This hotel is absolutely faithful to San Francisco history, yet every little detail is fully functional and properly maintained.
It’s refreshing to find such an authentic piece of history alive, well and in full health!
It's ok. Although building is really and would be better if they update it. Walls are thin, you can hear everything next door. Staff were nice. Location is at union squre
Stayed here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The staff were polite and attentive, the room was spotless and spacious, and the bed was really comfortable.
Close to everything, I would definitely recommend it.
Perfect location and friendly staff
Nothing negative to say
Tolle Lage, Kaffee und Cookies kostenlos erhältlich. Freundliches Personal. Blitz sauber. Das Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, dafür hat es tolle Betten. Wir würden wieder dort buchen.
Great location, always love staying here!
Top ligging, heerlijke bedden en super stil.
Het is wat gedateerd, maar dat weegt niet op tegen de voordelen van het hotel.
