The lobby looks nice
There was no air ventilation unless you opened a window. I was a solo woman traveller and if I opened the window it led out to a fire escape. So I was sleeping with no ventilation. I ended up booking another hotel the next day.
it was in a really good location. Very close to Union Square. There are so many forms of public transportation right outside of the hotel. It was very easy to navigate the muni bus system and the cable cars both of which had stopped right outside of the hotel.
Our biggest problem going into the hotel was there was no staff anywhere or on site. They were extremely hard to get a hold of even via phone. we arrived at 1:30 AM at the sister property. When we walked over to our room, we were puzzled to find out that we were given a room with a shared bathroom (we did not book nor an option on booking). Thankfully, the staff walked us over new keys and guided us to the correct room but at this point it was 2:15 in the morning. The fire alarm was set off one morning at 6 AM and there was no staff or front desk to alert so the fire department showed up just as confused as we were for evacuating. The next day the alarm system was going off in the lobby and I called the hotel and walked over to the sister hotel but nothing was done to turn it off. Just like every major city, you will have the homeless. Right outside our hotel for the most part were some lingering homeless people, but the police and security did a good job of shagging them away.
La ubicación , limpieza
The location is very central and accessible to transportation.
Very good location
Location and price.
Room was warm. No ac, but the hallway ac helped.
Everything
Nothing
Not much.
Bedroom and bathroom were dirty, covered in hair, and window was mouldy. Tv had no signal, there was no bedside light, plug sockets were exposed at wall, and the radiator leaked causing my electricals to be in a puddle of water when I woke up. Plus there was no one on reception, which I had expected travelling as a female on my own. And a guest was running up and down the stairs all night. I had to be moved to the Stratford.
I visit San Francisco at least twice a year, staying at different hotels each time. This was a great stay, and met all my expectations. I will be recommending the Herbert Hotel to all my friends/family.
excellent location, very, close to powell bart station and to the Moscone center
There is no room service, not even the added toilet paper and coffee. To get them, you need to go to Stratford hotel, it is not far but it would be better to have a room service if not every day, at least every three days.
