Disappointing for a Diamond Elite member. Rooms are quite below the price value with no upgrade

Check-in was disappointing. Staff did not recognise my Diamond status and insisted I had Gold status and did not want to give me a free breakfast. Initially, I was given a very stinky standard room with no upgrade. I complained, and another staff member gave me another room. It was still a standard room with no upgrade.
At checkout, I noticed that my credit card for the refund was changed to another one. It took about one hour to fix this issue.

Hotel was nice, staff friendly. and gym equipment was well equipped.

Cons:

filtered water dispenser in the gym was putting out hot water which was a bit grim
While the hotel can't do anything about it, the general area around the hotel is less desirable, its not unsafe but walking to public transport was miserable.
car parking in the area is expensive, but that's city parking, the valet parking next door is recommended by the hotel but is quite expensive and poorly reviewed.

Beautiful hotel, near many points of interest.
Pros:

Anna was a dream!! She was sooo helpful with us coordinating for our son swimming ALCATRAZ!! We were in town to support him. Hotel Spero was absolutely manageable for us to enjoy this experience. We even spent time in Chinatown, which was absolutely lovely.

Cons:

The parking situation was confusing. Would have like to know more about how parking works in the city and especially that it is not affiliated with hotel.

Horrible. Don’t stay here!
Pros:

We were there for 4 nights. In that time we were moved 3 time. First night we had bug bites! Second night/move was because the room was under the heating and air equipment. The room was so loud we couldn’t sleep plus we were so itchy from the bug bites (the manager insisted we didn’t get the bites there) the 3rd room was bigger- but the view was walls and equipment. It had a rain shower faucet (didn’t work) so I had to use the hand held shower head. A huge part of that faucet fell off and hit my head. It about knocked me unconscious. I asked to fill out an accident report. They don’t have any. Worst stay ever. Homeless everywhere. To top it off the housekeeping staff was on strike. The bullhorns they were yelling in were incredibly loud! Don’t stay here!

Cons:

Horrible bites I got and the huge goose egg I got on my head from the shower head breaking and hitting my in the head. Noises and homeless was awful!!!

colazione davvero scarsa in un locale adiacente servita al tavolo con 3 opzooni 2 salate 1 dolce .... stanza piccola bagno minuscolo .. il parcheggio non c è in struttura contrariamente a quanto indicato pero in zona ce ne sono parecchi costo $ 40/50

Posizione ottima pulito e belle camere.

Cons:

Il ristorante non era attivo e non siamo stati avvisati. La colazione che avevamo pagato extra consisteva in una busta da asporto con muffin succo frutta e yogurt. La camera aveva un problema con aria condizionata che a dicembre emetteva aria fredda invece che calda. Lo staff non è riuscito a risolvere se non facendovela spegnere e dandoci una stufetta. Non abbiamo riscontrato alcuna attitudine a risolvere il problema ed il manager era assente e non aveva lasciato al suo posto nessuno con potere di delega.
