I've been staying at the Stratford since late 1990s I know it has had several different owners but this recent version of the Stratford is the best so far

It was very good, convenient, close to my conference site, and a very nice, quiet room to relax in
Pros:

I especially liked the cafe area which was open to guests all the time, and I could sit and work on my laptop there It was a very inspiring space!

Cons:

A comfortable chair in the room would have been nice to have

Nice location, comfortable, easy to reach and at the nice part of the center of San Francisco.
Pros:

The location of the hotel is convenient especiallly if you have to be close to union square and moscone center. From there, touristic places around San Francisco can be reached easily.

Cons:

The hotel does not allow to store the bags on the last day, so it is very inconvenient especially if you have some hours to spend and you want to do it light.
Drip coffee next door is included in the morning, but the staff of the cafe are a bit unfriendly when asked for the "free" coffee.

Great value for money.
Pros:

The location was great, as well as the price for it. All the furniture was new and clean, as well as functional. The room was comfortable. The staff were good. Overall, great value for money. The room definitely appears to have been designed with functionality in mind.

Cons:

The room did not have air conditioning. While that is not a must in San Francisco as the city has mild weather year-round, it would have been nice. Also, the sink was not in the bathroom but in the sleeping quarters, which at times made it weird to wash my hands as a minor problem.

Pros:

The location was close to Union square and had lots of options for activities and food. The room itself was small, but tidy.

Cons:

Our main issue was the hallway to our room reeked and there was a large bag of trash left in front of our door. The room across from us (802) looked like there was a long term resident living there since it was the only room with a swipe card entry and had old flyers/signs on the outside. Most importantly it seemed to be the source of odor which then started coming into our room making it unpleasant for sleep or spending time in our room.

Nice clean accommodation. Modern lobby and area to hang out and grab a drink/bite

Thin walls, sometimes noise from inconsiderate guests, but I brought ear plugs

It was convenient and not too expensive.
Pros:

It was clean and well presented. Great location.

Cons:

I feel like if it was not in such a good location we would not have wanted to stay there.
The room layout was a bit odd, useful things such as towel rails could be installed on the vacant wall in the bathroom instead of two hooks over the toilet!!??
Staff were not very welcoming or openly friendly.
