We stayed at the Bussaco Palace for two nights to celebrate my 60th birthday--what an incredible experience. The palace and the grounds are beautiful--the flowers were in full bloom. The breakfast and dinner were delicious. All the employees at the palace were kind, friendly, helpful, and very professional! The price was highly reasonable--I expected to pay more for a stay at a palace as beautiful as the Bussaco.

No WiFi in the rooms, no plugs, no minibar. The facilities are not those of a 5 star hotels . They are stuck in the 70s'. The restaurant is overpriced and the food is mediocre.

Para Hotel 5 estrelas, os donos estão a viver um conto de fadas, como descrevem no panfleto.
Televisão só com 5 canais, Wi-Fi não se ligava, as casa de banhos ultrapassadas, portas dos quartos com fecho de segurança do tempo dos meus avós as janelas com folgas e passava o frio, etc...
É pena, podia ser um hotel considerado um dos melhores do mundo, pelo edifício e local. Mas os senhores que o estão a gerir, nem devem ter noção do potencial que tem nas mãos.

Great setting, poor hospitality services: no WiFi in rooms, no plugs in the room, overpriced restaurant with very mediocre fare. People are very nice, the settings are sumptuous but everything else is stuck in the 60's.
The hotel itself is beautiful and located in the middle of an amazing forest, which creates a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The interiors are elegant and full of character, with many historical photographs that give the place a special charm and sense of history. The breakfast was good, and we also really enjoyed the dinner in the restaurant. There is a museum nearby, and guests can even climb the old bell tower.
Since this is an old building, the sound insulation is extremely poor — you can hear absolutely everything happening in neighboring rooms and corridors. It became very noisy at night, and sadly the staff did not seem to ensure that guests respected the quiet hours after 11 PM. Falling asleep was almost impossible, and it was also very difficult to reach the reception desk by phone to ask for assistance. This significantly affected our overall experience and rest.
Another inconvenience is that after 3 PM it becomes almost impossible to have a proper meal at the hotel. The restaurant closes at 2:30 PM, and the bar only serves toast and very limited snacks. Considering that the hotel is located in the middle of a forest, this feels quite strange and inconvenient. Fortunately, there is a small café outside where you can at least get pizza.
Het restaurant was voortreffelijk, zowel voor het diner als het ontbijt.

O hotel em si é muito bonito e a sua localização é fantastica
Os funcionarios eram simpaticos.
O quarto estava muito quente tendo sido necessario chamar alguem a meia noite porque não dava para desligar por nós mesmo já que o quarto tinha o aquecimento avariado.
Achei que o pequeno almoco podia ter mais variedade
Las instalaciones son espectaculares. La comodidad de la habitación es buena, aunque no es espaciosa y la atención del personal increíble. Sin duda, lo mejor son los exteriores.
A destacar que para ser un 5* no hay minibar (frigorífico) en la habitación, el secador lleva colgado allí más de 30 años y a la mampara de la ducha le faltaba la silicona por lo que sin querer se anegaba el cuarto de baño.

A simpatia de todos os funcionários tornou a estadia ainda mais especial. Adorei também a envolvência histórica do hotel, cheia de charme e personalidade, bem como a floresta que o rodeia, criando um ambiente único e tranquilo.
Nota-se alguma degradação nas instalações. É um espaço maravilhoso e com enorme potencial, mas que beneficiaria bastante de uma renovação/reforma para voltar a ter o brilho que merece.
