Sfeervol startpunt voor boswandelingen
Pros:

Top attractie voor wandelaars in deze streek. Zeer klassieke inrichting met ruime badkamer in sanatorium stijl. Prachtig versierde trappen en zalen. Goed ontbijtbuffet in geweldige zaal en terras. Parkeren voor de deur. De externe bar heeft een goed aanbod tegen zeer redelijke prijzen voor zo’n top lokatie. Uiterst rustige ligging zo geïsoleerd in de bossen.

Cons:

De buitenkant is al zo’n 30 jaar niet meer geschilderd en houtwerk oogt zeer haveloos. Het - fors geprijsde - diner start pas vanaf 20:00 uur, voor ons te laat, maar we vonden in de externe bar( tot 19:00 uur open) een zeer acceptabele vervanger. Helaas geen zwembad.

Do que gosto menos, é da falta de uma certa modernidade, apenas nas instalações dos quartos.
A falta de um frigobar e de ar condicionado, por exemplo..
Justifica se a instalação, dos mesmos, assim como a opção de uma base de duche, apesar de manter a banheira.

El exterior y el entorno, así como las zonas comunes

Cons:

Me cambiaron de habitacion a otra " mejor" porque la ventana del baño no abria.
Las habitaciones no se corresponden a 5* ni con mucho, y los baños son viejos,
descuidados, viejos y con total falta de mantenimiento. Las puertas cierran mal, entra viento y luz por todas ellas.
La TV puesta encima de la única mesa con lo que no hay sitio para dejar nada. MUY MAL !!!

Slightly disappointing only because of the room. All the rest was as nice as ever.
Pros:

We were returning after 41 years as we had stayed g here on honeymoon.

Cons:

Much busier now as the land around is more of a tourist location.
We asked to move room as the one we were given on arrival had dirty carpets frayed at the doors and very tired paintwork on windows. A huge TV took up all of the dressing table. We were moved to a better room the next day by a very efficient concierge.

This is a truly special place. It is a historic hotel which honestly felt like a taste of a world gone by. The property is an absolutely gorgeous time capsule with some exceptional art (some of the best we saw in Portugal), views, and memorable moments.

The rooms are historical as well (it felt like experiencing a hotel from the old days), so it was a little bit hot but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Make sure to book a time for dinner in advance as the hotel restaurant may book out

Абсолютно ужасный отель и сервис. С самого начала пытались заселить в более дешевую категорию. Заселили в итоге только в 6 вечера. Номер в ужасном состоянии, везде пыль и грязь, принесли порванный халат, чуть позже оказалось что туалет не работает, 50 минут они его делали. Слышимость в номерах дикая, дали номер на рестораном, музыка играла настолько громко что было впечатление что я лежу не на кровати, а рядом с роялем. Персонал отдельная история, менеджер девушка шутила в стиле « а зачем вам одна кровать, вы точно хотите спать с женой». Главный менеджер не удосужилась даже встретиться и извиниться за такой сервис. в телефонном разговоре она сообщила что этт замок и ей все равно на сервис. Поэтому не советую оставаться там, максимум приехать сделать фото.

Pros:

Adorámos a experiência de ficar num hotel tão antigo e cheio de história, com aquele ambiente de palácio e todo o requinte associado. É precisamente esse carácter histórico que torna o espaço tão especial. Limpo e staff prestável.

Cons:

Os quartos podiam beneficiar de uma actualização da decoração sobretudo as casas de banho e, em particular, os ladrilhos. Seria perfeitamente possível modernizar alguns destes elementos sem retirar o charme, a elegância e a identidade histórica do local. Hoje em dia existem peças vintage e de inspiração clássica, que conseguem manter essa sensação de requinte e história sem fazer com que o espaço pareça parado no tempo. Acho que uma renovação nesse sentido poderia tornar os quartos ainda mais especiais e confortáveis.

Nice palace - just put the five stars back in place

The palace is spectacular and the location

Cons:

No air conditioning. Not enough air in the room during the night . Very uncomfortable beds in all the three rooms we used. Should not have five stars. Of course it is an old building and that has to be respected. But the quality and service in the restaurant is not five stars. Prices are five stars but quality not .
