Location
Unhelpful staff at front desk. Booked a twin room, arrived to a queen set up. They claimed they’d missed the request, then sent us to a DDA compliant room.
always stay there

Great hotel, great location.
Meals were expensive
Stylish, comfortable with good food available.
Bathroom door jammed slightly.
Expensive for what it is
A beautiful historic hotel filled with charm and character. Loved the Hunter Lab skincare range. Super quiet, spacious, and comfortable room. Easy walking distance to many places of interest, and bus stop close by to get into the CBD.
No need to improve on perfection.

Staff were not motivated enough.
Beds too small.
Fabulous history and ambience
Staff were a bit sloppy with communication
Great location for walking to National Gallery and Parliament house.
My room didn't smell good on arrival then I found a very full rubbish bin from the previous guest that hadn't been emptied.
The Kurrajong has a delightful "olde worlde" atmosphere where charm and history more than make up for the lack of every mod-con you'll find in a newer hotel. Staff are friendly and the service is prompt and personal. Frankly, given the convenience of the location and the charm of the setting, I don't stay anywhere else in Canberra.
On previous visits, I've had a struggle with the air-conditioning but not this time, which was just as well given the 40C temperatures outside! The time taken to serve breakfast was longer than ideal but at least I was warned beforehand. Perhaps staffing was short on the day.
Love the history of this building and superb location, easy walk to so many places of interest. A few good cafés and Barton Grocer store close by. Also, close to bus stops - handy and cheap for going into city and other suburbs rather than drive and pay for parking. Love the large bathroom mirror and the magnifying hand mirror was appreciated. The hotel certainly has an air of elegance, however, a few points of improvement ...
The pillows are far too soft, wish I'd brought my own. The chair and footstool in the room look very dated, rather grubby and material faded. The mini fridge was only just cool rather than cold No ice compartment. A complimentary bottle of water would be appreciated. After loving my stay here 18 months ago, I was quite disappointed this time. Long walk to my room - it's a maze of corridors, fortunately well 'signposted' to lobby! I did not eat in the lovely restaurant, too expensive. Some of the lights in the room were not working and I did mention that to Reception when I checked out. I am concerned that this elegant hotel is not being cared for as well as in previous years.
Everything was great. The receptionist was very helpful with local tips and places to explore.
The AC in the room wasn't very effective
