Small room at troon takes away from great stay
Pros:

Staff very friendly and professional....restaurant and bar areas very nice...pleasant atmosphere in the hotel...dinner and breakfast delicious...beautiful views and surroundings. .. swimming pool and spa amenities very good.

Room very small and cramped...small double bed....bedside tables very small...furniture ie. sideboard and table.... to big for such a small room....no light in wardrobe...bathroom small...

Staff were friendly attentive and nothing was a problem. Meals were excellent from breakfast to dinner .spa was great really enjoyed it

Cons:

The bed was a bit hard no good for a bad back .No handrail in the shower .The tv was large but took up the only space in the room could not put tea tray on top so would have to boil kettle and make tea on the floor. A mirror on top of draws would help the lady's for makeup .A shelf also in the bathroom would let you have your toiletries put out rather than kept in a bag .The telly on the wall would free up a lot of space .Only minor problems but should not take anything away from really good hotel and special staff will definitely go back again .

Pros:

Pool was amazing, dessert drinks and breakfast all so good and tasty, room so nice comfy bed and very clean good size bathroom. Views are outstanding from outside hotel and Troon beach and toon really nice along the road

Für einen kurzen Golf-Aufenthalt durchaus zu empfehlen
Pros:

Die Lounge war gemütlich und ansprechend eingerichtet, die Bedienung dort flott und freundlich, das Essen schmackhaft. Auch waren wir froh über den Aufzug, zumal unsere Zimmer im 3. Stock lagen. Für Golfspieler, die in wenigen Tagen einige anspruchsvolle Golfplätze spielen wollen, eine sehr gute Ausgangslage - vorausgesetzt, man verfügt über ein gutes Handicap, das nötige Kleingeld und hat das Glück, an einem der für Besucher buchbaren Tage noch eine Tee-Time zu ergattern.
Unser Hund hat sich jedenfalls wohl gefühlt - an den Randzeiten konnte er sich ohne Leine herrlich austoben.

Cons:

Die Einrichtung der sog. "Junior Suite" war für ein 5-Sterne-Haus in vielen Punkten unbefriedigend. Kein Spiegel über dem Waschbecken, keine Sitzmöglichkeit bzw. Abstellflächen im Bad, eine spartanische Dusche, eine winzige, in eine Zimmerecke gequetschte separate Toilette ohne eigenes Waschbecken. Kleine Fenster, der schöne Blick über Golfplatz und Meer durch Vorhänge verborgen, das Mobiliar schäbig, der Zimmerschrank lächerlich klein. Die Fotos, die auf der Webpage zu dieser Zimmerkategorie zu sehen sind, entsprechen nicht unbedingt den Tatsachen.
Das Essen im Hauptrestaurant war in Ordnung, aber qualitativ nicht wirklich hochwertig: Angebrannter Toast, zu dick geschnittener Lachs.

Lovely old school hotel which gives an authentic feel. Cannot fault the staff who were absolutely brilliant

Great view across the water.

Cons:

Having to order drinks at the bar before finding a table, with card facilities you should have been able to sit at the outside tables once they became free and have someone come and take your order.
I couldn’t keep the outside table due to this.

Beautiful hotel and location. Staff were extremely.attentive.

Cons:

Our room was very small. Couldnt open the wardrobe door properly or move round the bed easily due to size of the room. Shower was tepid both morning and evening.

Well worth it
