A fitting end to a Memorial Service for an old Friend.
Pros:

I was part of a larger party attending for tea and sandwiches and refreshments following a memorial service. This was an excellent end to what could have been a sad day. The food was excellent, the ambience actually set by the family and guests was enabled by the room the event was held in so conviviality was what was wanted and what we got. Space to chat without fally over each other and a varied mix of sandwiches and cakes a really good "English Tea".
Will go again if in the area.

An must try hotel
Pros:

Beautiful historic building steeped in history, rooms comfortable and spa a great addition.

Cons:

Hot tub wasn’t working.
Large fireplace in bar was too Smokey couldn’t sit and enjoy the bar due to coughing, probably needs a chimney flush that’s all.
A few hic cups at breakfast, it would of been nice if the staff had suggested a good will gesture rather than waiting for a complaint, the attitude seemed to be, we resolved it eventually so that should of been enough, every manager runs their hotel differently. Other than that it was a great stay and we would return.

Birthday treat
Pros:

We booked to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We were given an upgrade to the Courtyard Suite, such a beautiful room and some champagne. The hotel is a stunning historic building. The food was delicious and service was excellent. Our room was immaculate and so comfortable. We booked the Sunday lunch special offer which we felt was very good value. I would recommend a stay here especially for the warm and efficient service given by all the staff.

Annual 24 hours of calm and relaxation
Pros:

We stay at this hotel every year for 24 hours of calm relaxation.
We are always welcomed back by Sarah and Horace who look after us exceptionally.
The hotel is always clean, the bedrooms are quirky and charming.
All staff are pleasant and professional. The food is outstanding.
Our annual trip is one of the highlights of my year. Equally as lovely in summer and winter.

Best cream tea I’ve ever had!
Pros:

Booked for afternoon tea for a belated Christmas present for my mum.

We sat in the bar and it was just gorgeous. Huge fire place, dark beams, twinkly windows, squishy sofas… uneven floors, a building steeped in history.

Just wonderful!

We all ordered cream tea. Possibly the best cream tea I’ve ever had in my life. I have done a lot of research….
The scones were warm, the cream was delicious and the jam was out of this world. Nothing beats homemade scones and jam.

A super afternoon with 3 generations from 1 family.

Thank you

Lovely staff and a very old hotel full of history
Pros:

Very old and full of history

Cons:

Nothing really, it takes a while to adjust to how old it is, once you except that you’ll enjoy the hotel more.

Not worth the money
Pros:

Not really anything to shout about. Bed was comfy, staff in the spa were friendly

Cons:

Spa was really basic, wouldn’t recommend at all. Day staff on hotel reception weren’t very friendly. Hotel rooms very basic & really need updating. Breakfast also needs updating. Everything very old school
