Very old and full of history
Nothing really, it takes a while to adjust to how old it is, once you except that you’ll enjoy the hotel more.
Not really anything to shout about. Bed was comfy, staff in the spa were friendly
Spa was really basic, wouldn’t recommend at all. Day staff on hotel reception weren’t very friendly. Hotel rooms very basic & really need updating. Breakfast also needs updating. Everything very old school
Really enjoyed the breakfast. All the attention to details. The room was lovely. The location of the hotel is good situated just off the main street but on a quiet road. The spa was very nice too.
I gave my daughter an overnight spa experience at The Spread Eagle Hotel & Spa for her Christmas present. We had such a lovely & memorable time before she flew back to Australia. I had had the hotel recommended to me by a friend and it certainly didn’t disappoint. We loved its old fashioned quirkiness with the open fires etc. Our room was great, comfortable and very individual which we loved. We enjoyed the spa area (swimming pool, sauna & steam room and jacuzzi). We both had very an enjoyable spa treatment. The staff were kind & attentive, the food delicious and the ambience great. The hotel itself is situated in the heart of Midhurst so great for a wander and good walks too. Am hoping to bring my husband & parents here sometime soon as I’m sure they would love it too. Highly recommend whether it’s for a spa break or just an overnight stay.
My friend and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at The Spread Eagle hotel. A warm welcome, upgraded room, wonderful spa treatments and delicious food!
As repeat guests at The Spread Eagle we were delighted to find that everything was as good as it has ever been.
Our room was clean and quirky-in the old building- with a brand new bathroom.
We had treatments at the Spa-my husband claimed the best back massage he had ever had.
We stayed for 2 nights and ate wonderfully on both nights, would especially recommend the Specials.
Service throughout was warm, welcoming and efficient.
Our warm winter hug of a hotel.
We will be back!
£9.50 for biscuits we didn't order.
£17 for a few chestnuts and a little rice. Still hungry.
Argumentative Polish waiter.
12% service.
No thanks.
My daughter and I had a morning session in the spa followed by lunch in the hotel restaurant. We usually go to Bailifscourt, but decided to try the Spread Eagle. Unfortunately the spa was a let down. We hadn’t been before and the three staff members at the spa desk were far too busy chatting to welcome us or tell us where to go. The changing room is cramped and chilly. 3 TINY showers, 1 toilet. The spa looked like an average leisure centre. Chairs very close to each other around the pool. I’m sure the treatments were good; sadly there was no availability on our day when I booked a couple of weeks earlier. On a positive note, the restaurant staff were super friendly and lunch was really good.
The staff were all really friendly and helpful.
Lovely food and service and very comfortable bedroom and bed.
staff were friendly, food was excellent, spa treatment was so relaxing, room was comfy and clean
room was hot, water dribbled out of taps, hot tub pump was broken so couldn't use it (maybe 2 hot tubs are needed?)Bit odd having to walk through restaurant in your robes to get to spa especially when its packed full of people.
Everything! Stylish yet cosy, love the conservatory area, comfortable and attractive rooms, beautiful old building, beautiful swimming pool, amazing food, wonderful walks nearby, good range of independent shops, friendly and helpful staff.
Nothing
Very good stay and close to Goodwood
The location and the age of the building.
I just felt that there should be loungers in the spa as we could not sit down.
Lovely room. Clean and very comfortable. Relaxed atmosphere throughout the hotel
