Comfortabele kamers, Spa en zwembad , zeer goed « continental breakfast »
Wat duur voor de kwaliteit van eten, English breakfast viel wat tegen,
Zwembad/ spa was niet helemaal proper
I know people in the Village, so they Recomended this place, and I have stayed before.
Nothing !
It is expensive, but everything reflects that !
Fabulous staff, very helpful.
Room a bit hot
Great location , lovely interiors and excellent staff - dinner was very tasty
Spa a bit small for the numbers using and breakfast was just ok , the cold buffet was average
Beautiful building, friendly and helpful staff and good value for a special stay away
Historic and cozy. The hotel facilities were really nice and welcoming. The staff were exceptionally friendly, polite and very helpful.
From our room you had to walk through the hotel restaurant to get to the main reception, the spa and out of the hotel
Charming, cozy and well appointed. Our room was clean, comfortable and looked to have been recently renovated. We ate breakfast lunch and dinner at the hotel and all were excellent, with a great selection of reasonably priced wines and some from local vineyards. All the staff were excellent, friendly and attentive. Will definitely come again.
This was my second visit to the Spread Eagle Hotel for a spa day, and at this rate I’m basically one more booking away from asking them to forward my post there. It was a bit busier this time, but still spotless — even the reception area looked so clean and cosy I briefly considered moving in. The whole building is packed with character and history, the kind of place where you half expect a portrait on the wall to wink at you.
The pool and sauna were brilliant, and the gym — while not the size of Wembley — had more than enough equipment to convince me I’d earned my dinner. And what a dinner. The haddock was enormous, practically a national landmark on a plate. The extra bread and butter with my fish and chips went down an absolute treat too. Small detail, huge joy.
It was a birthday treat for my girlfriend, and she loved every minute of it. The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, and the whole place has such a lovely setting. It’s not the biggest venue in the world, but that’s part of the charm — intimate, warm, and the kind of spot you find yourself wanting to return to again and again.
Which is exactly why I’m already plotting visit number three. At this point, they might as well embroider my name on a robe.
I had a lovely stay at the Spread Eagle Hotel in Midhurst. The building itself is full of character, with its historic charm and cozy atmosphere making it feel really special from the moment you walk in. The rooms were comfortable and well-kept, blending traditional style with everything you need for a relaxing stay.
The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made a big difference throughout the visit. I especially enjoyed the spa facilities—perfect for unwinding—and the food was excellent, with a good variety and high quality across meals.
Overall, it’s a great choice if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway in a picturesque setting, with a touch of luxury and history. I’d definitely consider returning.
Historic hotel in beautiful Midhurst with a great spa and good restaurant
Breakfast was quite basic
Wonderful warm and relaxing old world place to stay. Everything from the staff ,food, spa and accommodation is fabulous. Relax in an armchair by the fireside, or Splash out in the pool and spa. Then enjoy a delicious dinner, attended by the impeccable Maitre D', Horace.
I have just enjoyed the most glorious weekend at the Spread Eagle in Midhurst. It was booked as a last minute escape as I wanted to treat my daughter - who has been training for the London Marathon - to a bit of pampering, and we couldn’t have wished for a more restorative stay. We were looked after brilliantly by a team of welcoming and thoughtful staff (a special thank you to Sarah). The room was gorgeous and full of enormous character, the food was sensational (both dinner and breakfast) and the spa was divine – we were even able to stay to enjoy the facilities a couple of hours after check-out. It really was everything we could have wished for and more and made for a proper reset. Simply wonderful!
Superb spa. Quality restaurant service for evening meal The whole building exudes period charm
Perhaps offering a la carte options for dining for those with smaller appetites would be helpful
A really great stay, from booking with friendly, helpful reception team, through to the warm welcome on arrival.
Room was clean and comfortable, top class housekeeping with toiletries, coffee etc replenished without having to request them.
Spa, pool area comfortable, if a little crowded. The therapists we had, Ellie and Laiya were first class. My massage was perfect and the Nest area for relaxing after treatments is absolutely perfect.
The hotel is beautifully positioned in the little town of Midhurst with plenty going on.
Car parking is ample (with points for electric vehicles)
Food is good and plenty of staff to ensure service, without being intrusive.
A great place for a short break to rest and relax.
Lovely rooms. A fabulous meal in the restaurant to celebrate a birthday. Considerate and friendly staff.
Nothing.
Delightful.
