Lovely grounds and old estate house as the main building.
Appreciated the full availability of services and the friendly, extremely competent staff.
Would be amazing for golf-lovers, located right next to course and club house with ample parking.
Room bathrooms were well appointed and cleaned with superb water pressure.
The bed and pillows were simply terrible and the main reason for a lukewarm review score. The bed sagged in the centre and at the foot (despite it being a slat bed) and was far too firm where it didn't sag; the pillows were ancient pancakes and well overdue for replacement.
The furniture and fitout of the room (in the annexe) was also extremely tired (worn carpet, curtains coming off rails, dirty cobwebby windows), not in keeping with the tariff/rating.
Some relatively easy fixes would go a long way.
Location 15 minutes of NEC. Some staff ok, restaurant staff very good.
Rooms tired, rooms are in a more modern building next to 17th century building. Not what I was expecting. Bar very slow, breakfast staff (lady) not the nicest,
Location great for us and very friendly sly staff - love the pool. Food better than last time even then it was good.
Nothing ok it’s a bit snappy chic but against the cost its excellent value .
Very quaint and peaceful place to stay. We loved the swimming pool despite it needing a bit of updating. The staffs were friendly and helpful when we needed a bit of help.
Nothing. But a bigger bed for a family of 3 (2 adults and 1 toddler) would have come handy.
It was a lovely place
It was all ok
Location
Pool area looked old and dirt
No shower mat when both bath and tiled floor slippery
Shower water went cold mid through, unable to control temperature
Bedside table draw broken
Beautiful property, extremely comfortable bed.
Staff friendly and helpful and breakfast was excellent
Bath a bit small and narrow
Nice big comfortable rooms, the bathrooms are in need of a touch up. Looks a bit worn out, same goes for the spa area. Spa is lovely but needs updating in the changing rooms, so cramped. Good Gym facilities.
For the price I paid I wasn't expecting spectacular so was happy with the service, room and facilities on offer.
Breakfast was chaotic, it was in the hallway, didn't think this was very hygienic. We weren't shown to a table and I had to ask for tea and coffee. Also wasn't told we could get porridge until I saw a menu on another table. Didn't give off 4* hotel to me. Room wasn't ready when we arrived and to have dinner there it is very expensive.
Vast, well maintained property and well decorated rooms. All facilities were as listed in the description
Had a good breakfast spread, however there was one person who was not ready to provide additional items while serving and was quite rude.
Comfortable room
Lovely hotel, great service
Rations at breakfast, only allowed one hash brown, although I didn't have other items - no sausage or beans. This doesn't seem to make sense
The pool was lovely and the grounds were really scenic
The noise from the pipes during the night
Entertainment
Good location and very friendly staff.
Swimming pool needs renovation
Another great stay in this super hotel
All good but breakfast not as good as it was before it became a buffet
Fantastic, good sized room with direct access to outside area..
Excellent breakfast; I've been before when it's been a served buffet but this time it was to individual order and so much better for it.
Nothing, all superb.
