Location
Needs repairs in places and maybe deep clean update , breakfast cold
A really lovely period property with pretty grounds, good food and friendly staff
The property could do with some maintenance and updating to bring it back to its former glory. The pool was lovely but a bit warn out. as were public areas and furniture.
Staff great nice breakfast
Very noisy people shouting outside from golf course at night and staffs radio and talking in corridor at 6am
Lovely location. Comfy rooms. Excellent breakfast
The restaurant Manager was very rude, argumentative and unprofessional, I haven't been spoken to how she spoke from someone in her position. She definitely needs retraining in customer services. We won't be going back.
Not enough plug sockets in the room.
The breakfast staff are warm and welcoming, that go above and beyond to provide a professional service.
The jacuzzi wasn't working.
Pretty hotel and grounds.Lovely and friendly and helpful staff
Great breakfast
Comfortable rooms
Good service
Excellent Sunday Roast
Good value for money
Nice pool and kids pool
Good menus and choice
A little tired decor in the rooms. Public areas are not very clean. In general it's missing a little bit of attention.
Handy for NEC
Lovely, quiet location. Comfortable room.
Good choice at breakfast.
Comfortable hotel with good facilities and friendly staff
Comfortable, clean, good breakfast, friendly staff.
Setting was lovely
Price of drinks excessive
The setting is lovely right out in the countryside and peaceful
It was very dated. Our room was ok, but the mirror in the bathroom was peeling off, the shower needed a deep clean as there was black on the rubber skirting around the shower screen. The TV was so old it was plugged into an aerial so no streaming services that we could find. We ordered room service and were charged £5 for a pint of Diet Pepsi because someone had to go to a specific bar to get it! Furthermore, the food was passable…the bread use for the sandwich was verging on stale and the batter on the fish was incredibly oily. It looks like a lot of money has been invested in the golf course with the hotel getting left behind.
Great find! Very nice presentable old manor style hotel. Friendly staff, special shout to Ian who worked at the leisure center. Nice spacious room (No 30). Large comfortable bed. No creaking floor noises when walking, which I found pleasantly unusual! Small but well equipped gym (perfect for 2-3 people at a time). Large swimming pool with water of pleasant temperature. Steam room and jacuzzi, all working! Breakfast is ok. Close drive to Hickory restaurant is a bonus.
This would be a solid 4.5 star review if not the access road. The condition of the road to parking is terrible with huge potholes and uneven surfaces. I have scratches underneath of my car few times even driving with a snail speed. Please fix the road! Also, nice to have an EV charger but EON rate of £0.75 per kWh is desperate.
seem to run out of most hot food, flustered staff
Room wasnt clean , eyelashes on the drink mat by the bed
