Pros:

Lots of character in the hotel

Not many staff during the day
All the rooms (we were told ) had baths only None suitable for disabled. We got the option of going down in the lift to use swimming pool area showers

Pros:

Very friendly waitress for breakfast and the food was varied and good.

Cons:

Our particular room was right next to a spasmodically busy road. There were times when it was quite noisy. We hadn't realised this would be the case when we booked.
If one were staying in the Hall itself this wouldn't be a problem. We were in more modern accommodation to one side of the hall.

Dissapointing
Pros:

Location was ideal for where we were visiting

Cons:

We were extremely disappointed with the quality of our stay. The hotel room was not clean, with cobwebs visible in most corners. We were also told that the room would have a kettle and tea/coffee-making facilities, but these were not provided when we arrived. A kettle was later provided, but we had to go to reception ourselves to collect it, rather than it being brought to the room as we would have expected.

The pool facilities were particularly disappointing and concerning. The water was freezing cold, and there were broken and potentially dangerous tiles around the pool area. This was especially worrying as we were staying with our toddler.

We also tried to eat at the hotel restaurant but were told that it was too busy, meaning we were unable to dine there. This was very inconvenient, particularly when staying with a young child.

Unfortunately, the general atmosphere and level of service were also disappointing. The staff did not appear particularly happy or welcoming, and on several occasions they did not seem willing or keen to help.

Overall, the experience fell well below the standard we expected. Had we known about the condition and quality of the hotel, its facilities and the level of service before booking, we would not have chosen to stay here, especially with our toddler

Great value for money, a real gem & would definitely return if I needed to stay in the area again
Pros:

Lovely location & setting. The rooms were huge with everything you need, including an iron and ironing board which was great. The shower had excellent water pressure & couldn’t fault the room or the stay. The hotel has a pool which is great, opens early which was brilliant with a 4 year old child who wanted an early swim (opened at 7am on Sunday). The breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had & the overall stay was excellent value for money.

Cons:

Pool facilities were a little tired and needed some TLC and the outdoor seating for the bar could be better especially as we had great weather for our stay

Charming, relaxing place for a break.
Pros:

An utterly charming, relaxing and beautiful place to be. Not ostentatious; just really nicely done. Great pool and a very usable gym. Lovely staff and atmospheric restaurant. Spacious room that was easy to relax in.

Cons:

A few bits haven't been refurbished yet, like the changing rooms in the spa. But as long as you're not looking for (or prepared to pay for) shiny new everything in place of authentic charm it won't spoil your stay.

Absolutely fabulous
Pros:

Breakfast was wonderful and plenty of it.
But it was the wedding break that topped everything it was like a proper gourmet meal. Absolutely wonderful

Cons:

Rooms not so hot, but the weather we are having can't be helped. Might I suggest just a top sheet on beds as the duvets were too thick and warm

Nailcote Hall visit 8th Aug 2026
Pros:

The room was spacious and had very good shower facilities in the bathroom with plenty of water pressure.

The morning breakfast service was top notch, served in a calm relaxed atmosphere setting you up for the day ahead

Cons:

A small minor point was that the extractor fan in the bathroom of the room during our visit was slightly noisy, a bit of an irritant if the bathroom was used at night.
