Clean, affordable, great hospitality!
Pros:

Everything was easy and comfortable about the property. The check in was easy and the location was walkable. Everything was very clean. For the price it was superb. I appreciate the personal touches and it was easy to communicate with the host. I used my own mobile networks so I cannot speak towards the wifi.

Cons:

The only thing for me was the location, as I had a conference at EMPA (swiss materials science and research institute) on the other side of town, but it was a nice walk back through town to get there, and the buses are nice, so not really a problem.

Perfect for the purpose
Pros:

Location was perfect with a beautiful uphill walk to HSG, rooms and toilets were clean, mini fridge was appreciated. I was particularly happy I had 4 pillows of which 2 were down filled. There was an extra blanket in the room if needed.

Cons:

My only suggestion would be to install a bit more light at the key boxes and an automatic light in the stairwell for guests arriving at night.

Affordable and comfortable to access Appenzell area
Pros:

The property was always clean and it never felt like I was sharing facilities with other people. The host was lovely and wanted to make sure my stay was enjoyable. Very large rooms and a comfortable bed. The location was good only a 25mins walk to the train station.

Cons:

To be honest , the rooms look like and feel like you are in a hospital … be careful ! He have a big dog and always wanted to bite , I open the door for asking where I check in and if he would not be in the moment there the dog wanted to jump on me and bite me, he had drool on his mouth, I think he's rabid.

Ich wurde von 2 DrogenAlkohol Junkies belästigt. Nie wieder gehe ich dort hin.Und das CHECKINN ohne Personal funktioniert auch nur mit ganz viel Aufwand. Insgesamt zum kotzen hier.

Lovely place near the centre of St. Gallen
Pros:

Great value, the owner is a lovely guy from our interactions over chat, and the accomodation is no frills but exactly what you’d expect for the price in Switzerland. It was kept nice and clean during my stay and was quiet being shoulder season. Met some lovely people as well! The washing machines and dryers being free of charge was also amazing! If you’re exploring St. Gallen on a tight budget and just need a comfy place to sleep, this is a great option.

Cons:

Unfortunately due to another guest misusing the microwave, it was broken during my stay, but has now been replaced. I unfortunately could not get the automatic coffee machine to work, and the non-stick pans had seen better days, but these were only minor points.
