Location
No ice machine no work out room as advertised bathroom dirty no coffee when I left Saturday morning
Good location. Friendly Front Desk Lady!
Very high price for a place that was not updated. Well used facility that looked like it needed updating. Not happy with the way the room looked. Tub is dirty , walls not in good shape. Fridge all dented. Garbage from previous Tenants still in garbage can. Gross! Never will recommend the place to anyone. However the Lady at Front Desk was very friendly and helpful.
The room was so disgusting that I didn’t even stay. There was poop in the shower, the bed mattress was torn up with a huge gaping hole. I left immediately and needed to find a different hotel to stay at.

The weather is awful but the service I received from the hotel made it all better. So warm feeling inside and greeted with a smile from Rene. Great customer service
The place was very dirty
I have stayed at Extended Stay several times in the past, and enjoy the benefits of having a fundamental kitchen in the room. I made reservations through their web site, at a rate that was $20-$30 less than neighboring hotels. I was looking forward to being able to make a fresh pot of coffee, late night snack, and warm breakfast in the comfort of my room.
NONE of that was possible with the current state of the Eden Prairie property. It started at the front door when their handicapped door opener didn't work. At the desk, there was a sign saying the attendant would be back in a few minutes. I waited about five-minutes, and then decided to go to my car to get my suitcase. I waited another 5-minutes, then called out. After 15-minutes (provable via their video recording of the front desk) the attendant came out of a nearby room.
He was attentive to the check-in process and I was on my way within a couple of minutes. Unfortunately, my key-card would not open the door. Back to the desk. He told me that the locks sometimes don't work, and to simply leave my card in the room lock for "...a minute or so...".
Back to the room. Put the card in, and after about 30-seconds the light turned green and the door unlocked.
My first surprise was the lockset on the bathroom door. The door had been kicked in, and the lockset was being held in place with some sort of white caulk.
I entered the room, and found the wire rack shelf in the recessed area for hanging clothes, and put my suitcase on the shelf. I turned around and the suitcase fell off because the support bracket under the shelf was gone - holes in the wall showed it had been there.
I looked around and noticed the light on one side of the bed had turned and was upside down. It was so loose that I struggled to 'balance' it in the upright position. The light on the other side of the bed did not work at all.
There was an iron in the wall mounted bracket, but the ironing board was gone. In the bathroom, there was a wall mounted bracket to hold a hair dryer, but the hair dryer was gone.
I decided a cup of coffee would be perfect. I opened EVERY cabinet, and there was NOTHING. No coffee maker, no plates, no bowls, no cups, no silverware, no pots / pans, NOTHING.
Back down to the front desk. The clerk apologized, and said he would get me a coffee maker and some basic kitchen supplies.
A few minutes later he brought a coffee maker and three packets of coffee. When he left, I noticed there was no basket to put the coffee packet it. Back to the front desk. He apologized, and said it was the only coffee maker he had. He promised to bring some plates, bowls, cups, etc.
In about 10 minutes, he knocked on the door, and he had arrived with a laundry basket (with dirty laundry), and a few fundamental kitchen items sitting on top of the dirty towels.
I asked about where I might find an ice machine. He informed me they did not have one. "What about an ice cube tray"? He explained that they don't have any of those either.
I mentioned that the microwave was 'flashing' and it said I needed to set the time before it would work. He came in and tried for several minutes, but could not figure out how to set the time (I had also tried, and couldn't figure it out).
Looking out the window, I noticed a bent damaged window screen laying on the ground outside a neighboring room.
It appears management at this location has 'sold their soul', focusing on discounted rates for longer term rentals to transient contractors (there were dozens of commercial vehicles in the parking lot).
The desk staff was polite and apologized, explaining that there was nothing they could do. When I asked what had happened to the maintenance, they offered no explanation except to say there was nothing they could do. I asked if there was another room available, and they simply said "No".
I hope that Extended Stay is not having similar problems at other locations. When I checked out, they were cordial but offered no adjustments or corrections to my bill. When I asked how long this had been going on, the young lady at the desk said, "...as long as I have been working here...". Another gentleman behind the desk said "We know about the handicapped doors not working, but the wiring is bad."
This facility has gone from a very nice hotel, to a blue-collar hangout of tough looking individuals.
Bottom line - this is NOT what you will expect from Extended Stay. I'd suggest avoiding this location.
Bedroom area was comfortable.
The bathrooms seem a bit grungy, could use upgraded tubs/shower heads and new caulking. Kitchen appliances seem outdated.
Close to the airport and city center
The carpet is dirty😬
No room service until You’ve been there for 2 weeks.
I put my can with trash in it outside my door for the help that was in the next room to throw it out and put my can back in my room. I came back from work, the can was back in my room with the trash still in it.
I checked out and went to Hyatt Place.
Very slim breakfast, not even a piece of fruit.
The cabinet door fell off, the handle to the sink fell off, no hair dryer, stains on the carpet, and cockroaches present in the room.
I didn’t even get to stay because they didn’t have my reservation since I book through a 3rd party. I wouldn’t have even wanted to stay if I could it smelt like a casino. The front desk person was disrespectful and unhelpful
The people on site were lovely and very kind.
Not a single thing to complain about.
I wish I could give 10 stars!!!
If you’re considering staying here, let me tell you, book immediately. I’ve stayed at other places before, and none of them come close to the warmth and true hospitality that Renee brings as the manager here at The Extended Stay.
From the moment you walk in, Renee makes you feel like more than just a guest, she makes you feel seen and cared for. She’s hospitable, kind, respectful, and always welcoming with a smile. What stands out most is how thoughtful she is. She remembers the little things, she communicates clearly, and she goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is not only comfortable but memorable.
No matter the situation, Renee jumps right on it and handles it with grace. You can tell she genuinely cares about the people who stay here, not just the job. She’ll work overtime, always ensuring that everything gets done, never cutting corners, and always keeping her guests’ comfort first.
Housekeeping is great! They go above and beyond to make sure you have linen and keep the rooms and common areas clean. I have been able to get the best sleep since coming here. I’m glad I chose this location until I settle in. Whenever I need a place to stay I have always come back to the ESA hotels for the past 20 years in different states. I trust them. The rates are affordable especially if you want your own space and privacy with a kitchen.
Thank you, Renee and the Staff for making it welcoming and taking care of me. Everyone here is so kind and thoughtful. This is what true hospitality is all about... especially when you’re spending your hard‑earned money. Renee is the kind of manager who turns a stay into an experience. If you’re lucky enough to book a room here, you’ll understand exactly what I mean. She sets the bar for what an Extended Stay manager should be.
Thank you, Renee, for all that you do. People like you make all the difference. -Aisha
