There was a terrible smell in the room. Surfaces had visible dirt, sticky substances, cabinets in bathroom were cracked and stained. Lobby and hallways/stairways were filthy.
It was difficult to find due to minimal signage.

Not much.
We only had to stay here because we found out last minute after being out of town that we had no power from the storm that just passed.. upon arrival, the young lady at the front desk was to invested in talking to her significant other on her phone instead of helping me with checking in.. once we got in the elevator, a shady man that was at the front desk asking about vacancy 2 seconds earlier had jumped in with us and the young lady didn't even think that something was off with that. The room smelled musty and unclean, the floors still needed to be vacuumed, and there was no hair dryer etc for my wife that I've literally seen in any other hotel. The reason for me even writing this review is because I was out of power for multiple days and I had to scramble to stay in another hotel after this simply because I didn't feel safe leaving my wife on this property. There were people outside that appeared to be intoxicated of some sort just trying to chat with us while we are trying to go about our business, the front door was supposed to be locked and it wasn't, staff at the front desk couldn't be bothered to have any care about safety and security of their guests, and the parking lot gave an unsafe vibe. I know this isn't the ritz-carlton, but for being in Shelton, I shouldn't feel like I'm staying in Compton.. get it together
Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
I've never been to an extended stay hotel that didn't have rooms outfitted with coffee maker, plates, utensils, etc. I understand we could have asked for these things, but we didn't want the hassle. The pillows were too few and too old/lumpy.
I love the kitchen use
No cream on Sunday for my coffee
The parking
Room smelled like marijuana
There splashes of paint in the wall in the bedroom part and bathroom. The sheets and comforter felt damp. It was run down. We had the last room on the end of a long hallway. The breakfast offered was wrapped up muffins and oatmeal packs with coffee.
Dear Mimi & Shelton, CT Management:
I should have known better and read the reviews before booking!
If you are a family, or a decent human being that respects others and can function in society; DO NOT STAY HERE. First red flag should have been all the homeless looking people sitting around the property outside drinking and smoking pot.
There is trash and dog crap all around the grounds & in the parking lot.
I received a call from Mimi hours before check-in. She is extremely rude and should be fired on the spot! She somehow made it my issue that they over booked for the night. I was put in a Studio King on the 3rd floor. The room I stayed in showed evidence of damage to the door and walls, I am almost certain the cops kicked the door in at one point in time.
You walk into the Hotel’s non existing lobby and get smacked in the face with an odor of stale smoke, filth & body odor. Also, just as a head up so you are not alarmed, there is a large human trafficking sign posted at the front desk.
My husband, son & I were awake from 1am – 4am due to loud music in the parking lot and guests running up and down the hallways screaming and swearing and banging on doors.
It is not safe, doors are propped open, and people are coming and going all night. This hotel is used as “low affordable housing” and they only care about getting the monthly check from the government.
When we exited our room to check-out, there was a random dog at our door barking at us and no one was around. Maid service is non existing, never once saw a worker.
The website states newly renovated and breakfast included. The photos they have online are not from this location. I recommend going to Dunkin over getting a complimentary coffee at the front, as you most certainly will catch something. I am disgusted that I had my son stay in this DUMP.
Extend A Stay, DO BETTER & STOP PUTTING FAMILIES IN DANGER!
Absolutely nothing
The public bathroom on the first floor was so dirty and had no handsoap. I needed to go so bad before check in and used this and was immediately turned off. There was also a sign about human trafficking in the bathroom that was quite off putting. Dogs were barking, hallways smelled like weed and other gross smells. There were crumbs all over our floor and the pillowcases were stained. It was absolutely something out of a nightmare. We didn’t stay. I went to the desk and said absolutely not give me my money back we are leaving.
