Cody room
Way over priced for what it is.
I booked a room here for one night this past weekend. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the room type I had reserved versus the one I received, as it was the last room available. On top of that, I had a very noisy neighbor with a baby crying throughout the night, which made for a less-than-ideal stay. I was understandably disappointed and shared my concerns with Lynn at the front desk.
Lynn was incredibly kind, listened with genuine empathy, and made sure to communicate everything to her manager, Kendall. When I spoke with Kendall the following day, she was already aware of the situation, showed sincere concern, and took immediate action to make things right. That level of attentiveness and care truly stood out.
Sometimes things don’t go as planned, and issues arise; that’s inevitable in hospitality. What matters most is how those situations are handled. Lynn and Kendall exemplify what great customer service should look like; professionalism, compassion and accountability.
I will certainly be back on my next visit to enjoy this beautiful property and the outstanding service they provide. Keep shining and continuing to deliver a world-class guest experience.
We had an amazing time at the lodge and loved taking the electric Volkswagen Bus into Town for dinner and shopping
The valet and driver were very nice and accommodating. We enjoyed dinner at the Michael Mina restaurant on our first night
The food , service and atmosphere was amazing. We need to acknowledge that Taylor, who works at the front desk and drives the VW bus was so much fun, has a great personality and made our stay very special. Definitely will be back !
Fantastic doesn’t do justice to the incredible stay my daughter and granddaughter had at this most welcoming property. Audra and her whole team from maintenance to the restaurant, maids and front desk were all so kind, warm and professional. This is there third time here and will always be there home away from London when they visit.
Warm and cozy ambiance, we loved the fireplace in the main lobby and in our room! It was cold and rainy during our December trip. The two restaurants within the hotel were outstanding. Self-parking was excellent. Best part: a kind staff person was extremely helpful in the evening before checkout. I needed extra bubble wrap for two bottles of wine I packed in my suitcase. He found it in the back office, and was so happy to help. A great way to end our stay!
We are Bay Area residents that went over for the night to Sonoma and stayed at the Sonoma Lodge.
The front desk staff Kendall , Marran, and Jesus were extremely accommodating, patient, and friendly while helping an exorbitant amount of guests!
They’re wonderful and welcoming as well as the dining staff and valet / shuttle team.
I appreciate the staff going above and beyond to accommodate our needs and making it comfortable, so that we can enjoy our get away stay.
Highly recommend and hope to come back.
Outstanding service. Kendall and Jesus at the front desk went above and beyond to fix a points-booking issue and upgraded us to a perfect room for our family of five. The resort is relaxing, with great pool and spa amenities. TrainTown across the street was a big win for the kids, and there are excellent dining options nearby.
This place is truly special. We first stayed here 15 years ago for our rehearsal party and wedding in Sonoma, and returning for our anniversary was just as magical—if not better! We stayed in a private little cottage, enjoyed relaxing moments, rode bikes, did wine tasting right in the lobby, and were treated to a complimentary dessert at dinner. The experience was unforgettable and perfectly nostalgic.
Excellent stay and experience! We almost didn't book here after reading two recent negative reviews (who actually seemed affiliated with one another). I am so glad we didn't listen to them! It honestly seems as if they stayed somewhere else! This property and its lobby are beautiful! The restaurants: Benicia's Kitchen and Wit and Wisdom are excellent. We consider ourselves "Foodies" and are used to elevated cuisine...they met our expectations! The wine tasting social hour was a nice touch! The room accommodations were lovely, clean, modern, cozy and wonderfully comfortable. We have stayed at many 4 and 5 star Marriott properties and this property met Marriott standards. Finally, the front desk staff was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again!
This hotel cannot be getting these high stars. It's a total dump. Our room was considered a suite, it's a room with a "patio" with a bush for privacy. The room smelled terrible. The fireplace didn't work, the bed was a least 20 years old, the coach was an oversized chair. Housekeeping was nonexistent. They left dirty rags in the bathroom. They took out the extra roll of toilet paper. They didn't make the bed, or bring extra water. And the obviously didn't vacuum because we found two worms in the room when we came back.
Room service was another disaster. It was called farm to table breakfast. It literally was served in a microwavable plastic bowl. Plastic silverware, two paper napkins, in a paper bag. $90. For two people. Nothing fancy. No drinks only water. It was luke warm and was delivered in 5 minutes. They didn't even have time to cook it.
We tired multiple times to call the front desk during our stay however no one ever answered. When we tried to get our car from the valet, ( he was also the bellman) he was on dinner break so they gave us the keys and told us to go get our own car.
We were planning on staying four nights, but we left after three and flew back home to Florida. This hotel is so disgusting, I feel like Marriott should refund us money.
My husband and I went for a Thanksgiving getaway and the experience was wonderful! The staff were phenomenal, and the breakfast menu was outstanding! Special shout out to William our server at Benita's Kitchen.
We had a great three day stay in one of the cottages. Our room was a tad dated but super clean, cosy and quiet which made for a great night’s sleep. We also got a chance to meet Rusty, the neighborhood cat, who likes to wander over for visits. He was adorable.
The spa is great and well worth a visit. It has four pools and a super relaxing barrel sauna. We enjoyed breakfast daily and had a great dinner at wit and wisdom. Also appreciated the little extras such as daily wine tastings and passes to Sonoma Fitness which offers great classes.
This place is a dump! Stay far away from this disgusting highway motel-like hovel. The staff, if you can find them, have awful attitudes, no interest in helping a guest and even less sense of hospitality. Our room smelled bad, the carpet had to be 20 years old. The furniture and bed were from the '80 and an orange cat kept scratching at our door and rushing in when we opened it. The location is terrible. Near high-tension electric transmission lines, across from a strip mall and adjacent to an auto repair station. Marriott should be ashamed of this dump. Their website is a sham. The photos must be from the 80s when this place was new.
Had to write this review to specifically highlight how special and healing our experience was made by Kendall Smith, the Front Office Manager, as well as every other team member we met, including John, the Guest Relations Manager.
We originally had a trip planned for The Lodge a few days later already, but booked a last minute additional trip over the weekend after learning of some extremely heartbreaking personal news - a very late stage abortion for my wife after an extremely poor fetal MRI and ultrasound diagnosis due to a very rare genetic disorder.
I let the staff know about the situation just as a heads up in the Marriott app if we appeared unusually upset or sad, and Kendall specifically made sure to immediately go above and beyond for us to make sure every part of the trip was as enjoyable and healing as possible for us. She upgraded us to a secluded cottage suite where we were able to relax in solitude, and when we arrived, had written us an incredibly sweet and thoughtful card and also left us a beautiful spread of chocolates, sparkling waters, and a fruit basket.
When we checked in, she was there to greet us personally and made it clear that if we needed anything at all, just to let her know and she'd make sure anything that could make our stay better would be provided. She absolutely followed through on that, and despite this being a resort property where late checkout isn't guaranteed even for our Platinum Elite status, the team made sure to make it possible for us which was extremely appreciated.
The last day, when we went to swap out our keys for the late checkout, John, the Guest Relations Manager, similarly went out of his way to emphasize that it was a pleasure to have us stay there and that anything we needed, they were happy to assist with.
We received the same level of care and compassion from literally every single other team member we met and interacted with, and this experience truly cemented the Lodge at Sonoma as one of our absolute favorite hotels in the entire world for taking such good care of us at such a difficult personal time.
We'll be spreading the positive word about The Lodge to anyone we ever meet from here on out. Thank you again for everything Kendall and the entire team!
From our check in experience, we knew we were going to have a comfortable stay here at The Lodge. Our concierge was very kind and personable— really made sure our anniversary trip started off right!
Parking is convenient and easy. The room is cozy and comfortable. the adjustable AC is really nice to cool our room during the day and to heat it up during the colder night. After a long day of exploring the Sonoma Coast and Armstrong Redwood Forest, the outdoor tub and plush pillows really melted the exhaustion away.
Huge shoutout to William and the team
at Benecia’s!!! Really making sure our morning before going on another hike starts off strong! He and the team checked in on us throughout our breakfast, and were extremely kind. Our coffee and waters were always full. Truly such a genuine and attentive service. Thanks again, William!!
Can’t wait to enjoy the rest of our stay!
Ate every morning at Benicia’s restaurant! William was amazing! So accommodating and nice! Food was delish too! Def will be back!
