Words cannot describe how incredible there staff is at the THE SPA. I had the wonderful opportunity to getting a massage from Charlotte who was the most incredible and gifted person I have ever met in a SPA setting. Charlotte provided the most amazing experience and from the moment I met her I new I got the right person. She gave me this massage that was so incredible it took me such a long time to write this review because I am still glowing from it. The massage was seamless and it felt almost magical as her talented hands massaged away all the stress and tension. I am planning on returning to THE SPA just so I can get another service with Charlotte.
Walls are paper thin so you can hear everything next door. On complaint, one of us was moved to overlook the parking, and I was told I could have a room at the back of the property. I emailed to complain and no response.
This is a great place close to the plaza in Sonoma. We’ve been coming here for years and it’s always fun and comfortable. We were celebrating my parents’ anniversary and hosted our dinner at the property. The food was pricey but good, not great. We got the room in the back and it was perfect! Fireplace privacy and plenty of room for 11 people. The cottages are great. It’s not snobby but great place to spend a weekend!
The food. Pricey and not great but that’s true for most of Sonoma except for 1-2 places
An excellent experience. I had some concerns regarding the rooms, based on reviews. I contacted the hotel to learn more and came to understand some 3rd party sites had provided incorrect photos, so guests were unhappy. I had the opposite experience. The front desk team of Jesus and Lili could not have been more helpful. I let them know what I was looking for and it was accommodated. The service in both onsite restaurants was excellent. The vibe is very chill, very Sonoma. Not Napa crazy.
If you are going to relax and enjoy yourself this is a great location.
The room was great. Had a balcony, which we love. They have a concierge which helped us get access to some of the wineries. The hotel property itself was beautiful. There was a market close by which was convenient for us.
The property has two restaurants, which was nice. A little pricey. It would be nice if there was a cafe or coffee bar that offered pastries or something on the lighter side.
We were in the area for a wedding, and we spent 3 nights here with my two married children and their spouses. It is a great property with Tuscany feel. Got upgrades, free breakfast which was excellent. We could get a late check-out. Service was good. The only thing that is a drawback is dated rooms and their cleanliness.
Loved this hotel. We asked for a different room to the one allocated and they found us a great room in the main lodge. The hotel has a really nice feeling about it, staff are great, and the rooms and public areas are lovely. Breakfast was very good as well. Would highly recommend
Staff was outstanding, room was very comfortable.
Hot tub had only one jet working and not very well
WILLIAM and the staff at the Benicias kitchen went above and beyond. Everyone at the lodge was more than cordial but friendly and kind. They cared about my mom’s birthday and made great additions to our trip. Lovely facilities including the pool and restaurants. Such a lovely place!
Location is okay
Zero service and hospitality
Too overpriced for that
Rooms are not in good condition
Stay in the cottages if you want a quiet stay. Spacious with adequate storage and self parking very near. Check in was very rushed by a young girl - felt like she wanted to leave asap - missed a couple of items that we had to ask about later on. Would have been nice to know that the menu at Benicia restaurant changes at weekends (very limited) and then closed early on Sunday so that wit and wisdom had business for their overpriced Easter brunch!! We would not have done this if we were told about the changes at check in. Pool area is nice when it’s quiet but of course, screaming kids arrived and ruined the atmosphere - must be awful in the summer!! Room comfortable but they skimp on towels and foam pillows weren’t that firm. Close to the square and a nice walk in. Trolley service available but only after 2pm. Much better restaurants in town and less expensive than wit and wisdom.
Cody room
Way over priced for what it is.
I booked a room here for one night this past weekend. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the room type I had reserved versus the one I received, as it was the last room available. On top of that, I had a very noisy neighbor with a baby crying throughout the night, which made for a less-than-ideal stay. I was understandably disappointed and shared my concerns with Lynn at the front desk.
Lynn was incredibly kind, listened with genuine empathy, and made sure to communicate everything to her manager, Kendall. When I spoke with Kendall the following day, she was already aware of the situation, showed sincere concern, and took immediate action to make things right. That level of attentiveness and care truly stood out.
Sometimes things don’t go as planned, and issues arise; that’s inevitable in hospitality. What matters most is how those situations are handled. Lynn and Kendall exemplify what great customer service should look like; professionalism, compassion and accountability.
I will certainly be back on my next visit to enjoy this beautiful property and the outstanding service they provide. Keep shining and continuing to deliver a world-class guest experience.
We had an amazing time at the lodge and loved taking the electric Volkswagen Bus into Town for dinner and shopping
The valet and driver were very nice and accommodating. We enjoyed dinner at the Michael Mina restaurant on our first night
The food , service and atmosphere was amazing. We need to acknowledge that Taylor, who works at the front desk and drives the VW bus was so much fun, has a great personality and made our stay very special. Definitely will be back !
