We loved the location, the easy access to the river was amazing… you get to enjoy it throughout your stay without paying the fees that you would have to at the tenorio volcano park.
It was very clean and simple. Amazing staff, great breakfast while enjoying the view… tucans!
Location was fantastic! Access to the river was awesome.
We ate breakfast at the restaurant (would have eaten dinner as well but it is only open for breakfast and lunch). The food was ok. They had gallopinto (rice and beans) which tasted like it was a day old, no eggs and no cheese. Not really a traditional breakfast. Fruit was good. The river itself makes it all worthwhile!! Staff was friendly and helpful!!
Access to the cabins themselves is tricky. You have to park at the top of a hill and walk down a very narrow and steep loose rock incline. My 85 year old mother who was with us was unable to walk it. They told us we could drive but I was unsure if the car would make it back out without 4-wheel drive. They ended up allowing us to drive in a different gate closer to the restaurant and walk to the cabin from there. The walk was more doable but again, loose rock, uneven ground. Cabins are old, and the ground underneath has shifted creating cracks in the tile and made the cabin floor uneven. The cabin is one room only and bathroom. There are 4 beds in the cabin, one little table and a rattan loveseat. There is nowhere else to sit. It was clean and sufficient for one night. The view from the cabin was blocked by trees, shrubs, bushes. The walk to the river takes about 5 minutes (longer with an 85 year old!) along a winding loose rock trail. The incline is not as steep thank goodness.
