The Old Quarter is exciting at first, but it quickly becomes hectic, loud, and overwhelming. Cafés and shops are everywhere, but this atmosphere exists throughout much of Hanoi, and taxis are very inexpensive—so staying right here isn’t necessary.
My experience at this hotel was disappointing. The room layout was awkward and cramped, making it difficult to move around. I was traveling solo but placed in a family-style room with multiple beds and a strange layout. There was no nightstand, outlets were poorly placed, the refrigerator barely worked, and the TV was dated with inaccessible HDMI ports.
The biggest issue was the air conditioning. Even set to 19–20°C, the room stayed warm during the day and only cooled slightly late at night. Noise was also a problem, with loud housekeeping early in the morning and poor sound insulation. I also experienced smoke odor late at night.
Staff was polite and listened, but the alternative room shown later was actually smaller and felt like a downgrade. I paid $75–78 USD, but the room felt worth closer to a lot less at least until they fix their problems. I would not stay here again.
I would have gave a one star, but the two stars was because the lady at the front desk was nice and listened but my overall experience was still not great.
Friendly staff, many spoke English. Breakfast was authentic and delicious!
This is a detailed review filled with objectivity as well as the impressions, feelings, and emotions shared by me and my wife. Email communication with the hotel was exemplary from the very beginning, and all our requests for added services were handled in the most convenient way for us.
Unfortunately, right after our arrival, we met a small issue with the taxi to the hotel. What could have set our stay off on a disappointing note turned into one of the best experiences we have had during our many hotels stays around the world.
Miss Selina is a one-woman orchestra. With complete naturalness and a beautiful smile, she relieved our stress and transformed our stay into something that wanted to visit friends who respect us and understand our needs without a single word. This woman is a treasure for the hotel, truly, for any hotel, because she is exceptional and one of a kind. We were impressed by her eloquence, grace, and sense of humour.
But everyone at this hotel deserves recognition, Felix, Ryan, and many others whose names we unfortunately do not remember, both at the reception and in the breakfast and kitchen staff. They are wonderful young people who take their responsibilities toward guests seriously while at the same time reducing the distance in such a warm way that no one feels the need to pretend anything. Instead, you can fully relax and enjoy discovering Vietnam’s wonderful culture and hospitality.
The location may seem questionable when looking at Google Maps, but nothing could be further from the truth. It is an extremely safe area with excellent access to most attractions within easy reach.
Cleanliness is exceptionally good. The elevator works perfectly, which is not always the case even in 5-star hotels. The room is compact with a comfortable bed, though the pillows were a bit firm. Towels were changed daily, which is not common even in top hotels. The room had everything we needed: a safe, a kettle, a well-functioning shower, a toilet, and, very importantly, hot water, which is often a rarity in Asia.
To sum up, this is an incredibly good hotel where guests’ freedom and comfort matter more than stiff, pretentious displays of “hospitality.” It was a wonderful experience that could truly stand for the best of Vietnam.
I must also mention the breakfast buffet, which is a real game changer. The Pho soup served for breakfast is on par with those offered in Michelin-starred restaurants. The buffet includes delicious fruit and a perfectly curated variety of dishes and starters. Everything is fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented. We absolutely loved the breakfasts at this hotel!
Conclusion: considering the cost of our stay and what we received, this is a 10/10 in every respect! We wholeheartedly recommend it.
This is yet another wonderful opinion about this hotel, following the previous above extremely positive one. Once again, it is a collection of superlatives. I want to emphasize that this hotel is made special by its amazing team of people, who truly understand their role but, above all, remain authentic and treat every guest with the utmost respect.
Of course, you can easily find higher standards in flagship hotels of large corporations, but this hotel has soul and character. Most importantly, it has a fantastic staff with whom you can build genuine friendships. The hotel is clean, tidy, and filled with smiles, always ready to help solve any problems. 🏨
A very important note: if you are looking for excursions, especially day trips, but not only, this hotel cooperates with very reliable companies. We could not have imagined more professionally organized tours and transfers to other cities or airports. It is convenience, safety, and guaranteed satisfaction.
Leaving this hotel feels like saying goodbye to very close friends. It was a joyful and wonderful experience.
Guys, you are the best!!!
sweet, nice and service-oriented staff
I had a fantastic stay at Paradise Grand Centre Hanoi Hotel. The location is excellent — right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore all the sights. The hotel itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and very comfortable.
What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and they went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. I would especially like to mention Emma, who was incredibly kind and helpful. A few days after we had already checked out, we returned from Cat Ba before heading to the airport. Emma kindly allowed us to leave our bags safely at the hotel and even offered us the use of showers if we wanted — such thoughtful service that really made a difference to our trip.
I can’t recommend Paradise Grand Centre Hanoi Hotel highly enough. Between the perfect location, excellent service, and the genuine warmth of the staff, it’s truly a wonderful place to stay in Hanoi.
Our room was a little bit small and the climatisation wasn’t strong enough. But other than that, everything was perfect! The breakfast was more than excellent and the staff (special mention to Celina) was adorable!
Excellent stay. Emma on reception was extremely helpful with recommendations too!
Good location, super friendly and helpful staff
The room was ok. Didn't look like a room you'd see In a 4 star hotel (looked more 2/3stars). The room didn't have a view outside instead, a corner was curtained off and behind it was what looked like a shaft. The room doesn't have enough plug sockets. If you use a travel adapter of a certain size, you lose access to one socket. I also don't like hotels that give mini shampoo/shower gel bottles and tiny bars of soap. Should just have large containers of them near the sink and shower. Breakfast had very limited vegetarian options and flies were seen when eating. The staff were extremely good and polite. The woman that works there too (might be the manager) would greet everyone and ask about their day. The place is located in an alleyway but is very close to all the action in central Hanoi.
Stay away!
Room descriptions are not accurate. The bathroom shower had mold and the walls with cracks.
Bed was falling apart.
Location is not too bad but since there are plenty of other options, don’t bother with this hotel.
Nothing about this hotel is worth it.
The hotel staff are friendly.
The facilities are a bit dated/outdated.
You can experience a decent rest at an affordable price.
Small rooms. Inadequate AC. Useless balcony. Not worth it. There are other better options at similar or lower cost. I would recommend to avoid this one.
P.s. : the hotel staff was top notch. Friendly, polite, cheerful, eager to help. 5/5 there
Avoid. Arrived tired and late in the evening from airport and they pushed me to cancel my booking.com reservation with the incentive of a nice room upgrade. Eventually the room was worse than originally booked online. This is not their first time doing this, please read all the bad reviews here on TripAdvisor. We cancelled rest of the reservation first thing in the morning and managed to get money back from those nights. We also did not get any receipts after paying cash and outside booking.com. Hope you find this review before reserving, we have spend 3months travelling through asia and this one was genuinely the worst experience.
Much smaller than the photo show... the balcony in the junior hotel suite, is not a balcony... the free breakfast is subpar.
Last night of trip . Had a room upgrade . Room was lovely, great style . Nice hotel quiet and in a great location . Friendly staff.
Avoid. Poor breakfast. The room I booked wasn’t available for me. Tried to downgrade me and offered lowered price. Made me cancel my booking.com booking so they don’t pay fees and I cannot review. Rooms were basic and not as pictured. Safe place, good location, but go elsewhere. Book at the Hanoi emerald waters hotel valley which is 2 mins away.
Excellent, compact hotel close to the centre of Hanoi. Very clean, staff extremely helpful. For us - apart from the hotel booking - they booked 2 private transfers and a 3 day / 2 night cruise in Lan Ha Bay and everything worked perfectly. Communication from the hotel to any questions was fast and efficient.
Excellent hotel, super clean, lovely room, friendly and helpful staff. Lyn was amazing and really went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comfortable
Central location in the heart of this exciting city

A disappointing experience – I do not recommend this hotel
I had an unpleasant experience at this hotel, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend it. The room we stayed in had obvious maintenance issues: the shower was constantly clogged, making it difficult to use.
Additionally, the breakfast was far below expectations – very limited options, questionable food quality, and some items even seemed stale.
What bothered me the most was the attitude at the reception. Instead of addressing the issues we reported, we were practically forced to leave a positive review before checking out.
I find this behavior unprofessional, and unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. I will not return, and I do not recommend this place to other travelers.
Dont get fooled by the presentation photos!! The hotel is very small, on a narrow street, extremely small rooms, with tiny bathroom, that got flooded at every shower, very used and smelly towels, old furniture, the bed and pillows very used, not comfortable!
Very dirty place!
I do not recommend the place!
When we left, they practically took our phone to rate themselves 5* on Booking, from our phone. Never seen this kind of action from any staff ! So dissapointing!
