Nice hotel, and even though they did their best, it was overpriced.
Pros:

The continental breakfast, the offering of wine in the evening, the fire pits were a nice touch. Parking was available in multiple locations, so that is good.

The staff was very nice.

Cons:

Although the property was well kept up. $888 for two nights was a bit much. We’ve stayed at many places in the Carmel/Pacific Grove area.

We stayed at the Carmel fireplace in the night before we check into this place and although there wasn’t all of the amenities, the price was less than half to stay there.

If I am going to pay over $450 a night for a room, it should be close to luxury

Immense value for a hotel near so many great locations in Carmel.
Pros:

Really close to Carmel by the Sea. Walking distance to so much. The breakfast basket in the morning was such a great touch and the free happy hour at night was a great way to taste new food and wines

Cons:

My particular room felt like it had a little less privacy than others dude to where it was and other guest traffic.

Highly recommended for an enjoyable stay.
Pros:

My sister and I had a wonderful stay at Horizon Inn & Ocean View Lodge in Carmel. The hotel was charming, clean, and incredibly comfortable, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment we arrived. We loved the convenient location, which made it easy to walk to the shops, restaurants, and beautiful Carmel Beach. The room was cozy and relaxing, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The complimentary breakfast and thoughtful amenities made our stay even more enjoyable. We made wonderful memories together and would gladly stay here again on our next visit to Carmel!

I really enjoyed my time at the horizon inn. I will definitely be staying here again in the future.
Pros:

The property is beautiful. It has that rare, authentic Carmel charm where you can feel the crisp coastal breeze from your patio, completely tucked away from the noise but still just a short, beautiful stroll from the heart of town.

Cons:

Parking can be a bit tricky.

Functional stay but good location although quite expensive
Pros:

Great location, very easy to walk to Ocean Drive and the beach. The fire pit area is nice and parking was handy too

Cons:

Stayed in room 111 and immediately noticed a very musty and unpleasant smell. The staff would not change our room - advising that the prior inhabitants had not complained about the smell - so we were offered a chemical neutraliser instead. We then had to move rooms for one night before moving back into that room as one of our party was pregnant and it wasn’t suitable for them to sleep in the room without adequate time to air out. Upon moving back to room 111 we noticed it is right next door to the house keeping office and can be very noisy.

Comfortable, accommodating and great location
Pros:

My adult son and I traveled the coast highway from Los Angeles to Carmel this past weekend. We previously stayed here in 2021. We were not disappointed in our return. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is an easy walk to many excellent restaurants. A wonderful place to stay.

Altogether a comfortable and pleasant stay, enjoyed the outside patio in evening!

Loved the afternoon wine and cheese happy hour

Cons:

I wasn’t fond of the breakfast basket delivered in the morning. I would rather have less items of high quality than more of “meh” quality. Use a local bakery in Carmel

Quaint Hotel in walking distance to Carmel . Lovely property with great service .
Pros:

Breakfast Basket was delightful ! Loved how spacious the rooms were and the location so we could walk to town was wonderful . Pool and Spa area with fire pit was very nice .

Hotel staff were helpful friendly and welcoming.
We loved the fireplace, the room was big, and the fact there is parking was helpful.

Cons:

We wish there were option to purchase drink / snacks, also we didn’t really like the breakfast baskets and the coffee.
