Great staff, serious mold and mositure issue
Pros:

The staff, breakfast, and the location. The girl who greeted us was lovely, the night operator was top-notch and super helpful, and the breakfast staff and day staff were kind and helpful with everything we asked about. The fruit salad at breakfast was quite good, and the gluten-free bread options were appreciated. The location is great and the restruant and beach recommendations were too.

Cons:

The building has a serious mold issue. You can smell mold and damp upon entering the lobby, room 19, and room 17, which we were moved to. Upon inspection, mold was visible and climbing up on the blackout curtains, and water damage was visible on the ceiling and in parts of the bathrooms. The mold exposure in the space was so intense that we ended up getting sick by the end of our stay. The staff tried to the best of their ability to help; they brought the dustiest dehumidifier I have ever seen, tried offering up various rooms, and cleaning sprays for the smell, but retrospectively, when we saw that much black mold on the curtains, we should have left immediately because sleeping near it affected our airways/breathing. In addition, the bathrooms had no working ventilation and smelled like sewage (we saw this in other reviews ans are disappointed to report it is true). Again, the staff were kind and tried their best to help. They gave us sprays and sent cleaning and maintenance staff, but it still smelled so terrible that we ended up showering and brushing our teeth as fast as we could, and trying to use the bathroom as little as possible. Again, the staff is great, but the standard of general maintenance and overall awareness of moisture in their design at a place near the beach with known humidity and water issues is abysmal and dangerous for their workers' and guests' health. Step it up, FLH corporate.

Pros:

Stunning hotel in the centre of town. The rooms are clean and beautiful, staff are wonderful and we had a fantastic stay there.

Pros:

Excellent breakfast - all family members found their favourites. Useful to have coffee, tea and cakes available all day. Excellent locations and beautiful view from "Suite with a view" room. Lovely decorations and calm atmosphere although situated in the heart of the old town.

Cons:

Not a big deal but a mini fridge and coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice.

Pros:

Location was great. The layout and amenities in the room were fine.

Cons:

Sheets and pillowcases had red stains. The floor felt greasy. There was mold in the room. The hair dryer and the basket were moldy.

Lovely beach town, beds could be better.
Pros:

Très bon petit déjeuner et accueil chaleureux et serviable. Chambre de belle taille et qualité des équipements.

Cons:

Le lit n'était pas confortable et la ventilation ne fonctionnait pas bien : sans la fenêtre ouverte - et il faisait trop froid pour l'ouvrir - l'humidité s'est accumulée sur le sol.

Molto bello lo consiglio a tutti.
Pros:

Posizione centralissima, pulizia e camera anche se dava all’interno di un piccolo cortile, avevamo un tavolo e due poltroncine.

Comfortable stay
Pros:

Great hotel in perfect location. Very good and comfortable room, we had it with a balcony and its was perfect due to strong wind outside. It was well protected and you could enjoy the view and sun. I would not book breakfast there again, it was very simple and lacked local portuguese food like bread or local croissants. Coffee you can have as much you want and scrambled eggs were good.

lack of local fresh assortment at breakfast.

La ubicación

Cons:

Relación calidad- precio caro. Habitación con vistas al mar y con una terraza descuidada; además el mar se ve muy a lo lejos. No merece la pena coger esa habitación en cuanto al precio.Instaciones bien en general, buen desayuno y personal muy amable.
