No room service! Had to get food from their "Market". I ordered a breakfast sandwich and the bacon was incinerated. Inedible. Also ordered a fish and chips from their Bar and that was horrible. The fish was dry inside the burnt outside crust. Also inedible.Completely unacceptable.
Chose it because it was located near our event, but ended up really loving the room, our view, the restaurant and the staff.
Close proximity to the convention center and very clean.
This is a great property if you are visiting the Portland area for business or pleasure. The hotel is conveniently located with public transport available as well as valet. If you are a World of Hyatt Globalist, the value you get at this property is awesome, with a nice breakfast and rooms with great views.
Great location and super convenient getting to other parts of downtown Portland since there was public transportation right out front. All the staff we came in contact with were very friendly and helpful. On our 2nd night, the room next store was very rowdy, called the front desk and within 10 minutes I heard the security guard talking to our neighbors then all was quiet. I appreciated the quick response. We liked the added perks that come with the hotel, especially the transit passes. The Marketplace was perfect to grab a quick bite, souvenir, toiletry etc and the staff here was excellent. The property was very clean, modern decor, and spacious. Self parking was $35/day which we didn't mind paying since there was charging for our electric car. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.
This hotel is located in a prime location in southeast Portland. It is right next to a Max stop, and you have a convenient way to get around the city without the use of a car. Hotel check-in was fine, the front desk only had one person the entirety of my stay. The people are all dressed in the Portland aesthetic, casual and flannels. The hotel is one of the newer ones in the area, and the room design is reminiscent of Tokyo. The bathroom is small and definitely cannot hold more than one person at a time. If you are traveling with a group and you want privacy, there is a sliding door that separates the door, bathroom, and refrigerator and the hanging space for clothes (there is not a closet) so if you need to leave when someone is changing there may be some negotiation that occurs. The hotel room is nicely appointed and has faux wood floor. The lighting is a challenge throughout the room for putting on makeup. There are plenty of outlets for plugging in to charge things. I did visit the gym, it is big and nice but is primarily equipped with free weights, waling machines, elipicals, bikes and one stair machine and a multi-use pulley system weight machine. There are few weight balls and mats for stretching. On my first night, I turned on the water and it came out light brown for a while, I found it odd (I had never experienced that in a hotel before) when I stepped in I completely wiped out because it was beyond slick in the tub to the point I could find absolutely no footing and caught my self on my left side on the side of the tub. My back ended up bruised and index fingernail split in the middle but I managed to get myself up. I did let the Hyatt customer service know online and reported it to the front desk in the morning. No one followed up or seemed at all concerned. This completely soured my view of the hotel. My suspicion is that the tub/shower had not been cleaned, hence the brown water, and that there was probably conditioner residue remaining at the bottom of the tub. The other drawback to this hotel is that it does not have its own parking structure. You have to park behind the hotel in a parking garage that is shared with the convention center. You then have to walk across the street, and on our check-in, it was raining (which is usual for the Pacific Northwest 9 months of the year) so you may have to maneuver your luggage across the street and up a slight hill to get inside the hotel. The hotel does offer valet parking for $45 a day. The self-parking fee is $35 per day, and there is also a $25 daily fee being charged as a "destination fee" at the hotel. It is meant to cover "premium wifi" your two bottles of water in the room when you arrive, and gives you a $15 bar credit, but you can only use it if you charge to your room. The hotel is great for location and ease of getting around the city via max and for staying if you have events at the convention center or Moda Center. The customer service left much to be desired.
I found the hotel clean and accommodating, except for the parking situation. The parking lot attendant refused to let me use the hotels parking garage, even with my room reservation and card in my possession. I had to discuss the problem with front desk staff, who immediately corrected it. However upon returning to the parking garage, I was met with a stubborn attendant again that argued until reluctantly letting me use the garage.
The location was great, close to down town, with easy access via a tram. Plenty of food choices nearby and for the most part very friendly and accommodating staff. The hotel was gorgeous and there wasn't a single other thing that bothered me the entire stay. Theres plenty to do and see in the area. Overall a pleasant experience.
The Hyatt at the Oregon Convention center is an excellent venue with nice modern rooms, clean restrooms, well kept ballroom/meeting spaces, and very kind and welcoming staff. I would come here again in a heartbeat knowing what nice location and friendly people are waiting here.
This hotel is so convenient - steps from the light rail (Max) and across the street from the convention center. This made everything accessible. Rooms were great and the staff was extra helpful. This made my conference a bit less stressful, and I always welcome that.
heart of Portland, easy walk to any food places nearby and local stores, atmosphere was beautiful. rooms were clean, spacious, and featured a TV with cable and cast streaming. Room walls are a little thin and you can hear people down the hall but it was never a big issue. Services were amazing.
I had a great experience at the hotel. Staff were super nice and welcoming. The services were top notch. I really liked the small market in the lobby.
This hotel is adjacent to the Oregon Convention Center, so it’s very convenient.
The hotel had serious staffing issues while we were staying there. They canceled maid service one day because too many maids called out sick.
They had no bell staff, so we were on our own with luggage.
Other nickel and dime issues: if you arrive early and want to check in, they charge you $10/hour for early check-in. That is unheard of.
The lobby bar closes unusually early, especially with 100s of conventioneers looking for entertainment.
Otherwise, it’s not a bad hotel. There are just too many little things wrong for me to recommend it.
Very close to the Moda center
$35 to park your car at a hotel that you paid $200 to stay in for one night seems a little excessive.
Sweet location for Moda. We walked and zero issues. Some decent places within walking for food and desserts. Would probably always stay here for Moda.
