Had a really lovely experience here! The hotel is beautiful, and really central. Amazing value for money considering the location! Food was incredible, amazing selection of teas also. Sally was fabulous, nothing was too big of an ask. We’ll definitely be back! <3
Lovely afternoon tea. Can’t believe I ate it all.
Absolutely fantastic service from Sally. Friendly and fun.
Sally served us in the tea room, I arrived much earlier than my friends and she immediately put me at ease, served me tea earlier and explained the menu. Sally was so warm, funny, thoughtful and kind and this tremendously added to a lovely reunion/get together for us.
Thanks Sally!

I had a wonderful cream tea here, excellent quality and the best gluten free scones I've ever had! But the star of the day was Sally 👏 so professional and at the same time very welcoming and friendly! Thank you so much Sally, you made my visit extra special! Highly recommend!
Sally gave excellent meal recommendations and service. She is a credit to the Abbey Hotel and Tea Bar. The soup was delicious. Very friendly, welcoming and offers good gluten free options. Five stars.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and can highly recommend it! The staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and always helpful with any requests. My room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, providing the perfect place to relax. The food was also fantastic—everything tasted fresh and delicious. Overall, great value for money and a truly pleasant experience!
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Meghan at the reception desk was very helpful. We asked many questions and she answered all with a smile. Sally was all over the hotel. She waited on us at breakfast, then again in the bar area, and was very friendly even though she was so busy. A beautiful hotel in a beautiful city.
The location was wonderful and the room was comfortable and spacious.
Air conditioning was not working very well, but we had fans that helped
Great area and location
Reception staff was great.
The room was OK but expensive and not worth it in my opinion. Shower leaked all over the floor and wasn't very clean. Trow on bed had brown stains on it. Fireplace had markes and coffee tray was sticky. Breakfast was expensive for what it was. It was very busy and they had run out of a lot of pastry and fruits. Staff not very attentive. Asked for extra coffee twice and didn't get it so left.
We stayed at the Abbey Hotel for one Sunday night. The staff were friendly, the room was spacious & clean and the breakfast was good. The two star review is due to an absolutely terrible nights sleep. Our room was on the first floor of the hotel at the front so we expected some street noise etc. what we didn’t anticipate was that the Sleight Magic Bar a few hundred yards away would have customers drinking & chatting outside and loud booming bass music until 3am! The hotel windows did little to muffle the sound. The rough night was compounded by the bed being hard & uncomfortable and the pillows being so poor that putting one over my head didn’t offer any comfort or muffle the sound from outside.
Apparently the Sleight Magic Bar is open Thursday to Sunday nights so if you’re staying at the Abbey over those days then pack your earplugs!
As a family of 3, we enjoyed a wonderful stay in a spacious suite with 2 bedrooms with lots of room. While spread across a few different classic buildings (not all of which have lifts), the interiors were stylish and comfortable. Optionally included breakfast was great quality with good variety and very friendly service. Location is convenient walk to the train station, the center of the city, and many attractions. A wonderful place to experience the local flavor of Bath.
Great location. Charming ambience. Helpful friendly staff.
Our stay was a mixed bag. On the pro side, the staff was kind at registration and let us check in early during historically hot weather. Breakfast had a lot of options, including ordering hot meals from the kitchen. The rooms are well decorated, clean, and comfortable. The location is fantastic: right in the middle of Bath and close to the Roman Baths, very near the train station, and near shopping and tons of restaurants.
On the con side, the biggest irritation was the slowness for coffee at breakfast. Most days it was 10-15 minutes, but one day we waited 30 minutes. One day it never came. I understand it comes from an espresso machine but the tables were never completely filled in the breakfast room so that alone can't explain the slowness. If coffee is a ritual for waking up and starting the day on the right foot, this may be unacceptable to you, as it was for us. The AC in 1 of our 2 rooms couldn't keep up with the heat which is somewhat understandable and never got unbearable. The rooms were relatively noisy, hearing guests just walking above us and also talking beside us. Surprisingly louder than most places I've stayed at in UK.
Excellent choice of cooked breakfast
Great location right in middle of Bath. Excellent rooms and facilities
Nothing
Outstanding location, very friendly and professional staff, great atmosphere - lovely for a weekend break!
Our room was lovely but the bathroom looked a felt a little tired - not a grumble and it was clean but it could do with a re-fresh.
Great location Friendly staff
