Great location, comfortable bed.
Floor not cleaned from previous occupancy, remnants of balloons and stars on the floor.
Great location right in the centre of town and close to everything. Good functional room and bathroom.
Fairly good value by modern standards.
Generally poor noise insulation. Lots of slamming doors from other guests leaving early in the morning. Could hear TV from another room clearly.
Small lumpy pillows.
Not proper double bed but 2x singles pushed together with huge hard seam.
The location of the hotel was great and we had access to everywhere in really good time
In regards to value for money I thought it was great value. I felt the room was very small and the bathroom was very small
Great hotel, friendly staff and great location
View was amazing and staff very accommodating
The building and room was run down in comparison to when we stayed the year prior. Room had scuffs and chunks missing where suitcases had, bathroom had water stains and scuffed paint. Customer bathroom downstairs also had wallpaper peeling off the wall.
Multiple electrical problems too.
Breakfasts were excellent=freshly cooked to order.
Evening meal mediocre. No ambience in dining area.
Location was great
It was very expensive for what it was.
I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. It’s not the kind of place that blows you away, but it does a lot of things right and makes for a genuinely comfortable experience.
The room was clean, well-kept, and had everything I needed for a short stay. The bed was comfortable. The amenities were solid—nothing particularly standout, but everything worked as expected. Breakfast was decent with a fair selection, though not especially memorable. The location was convenient, making it easy to get around without any hassle.
Overall, it’s a good choice if you’re looking for a reliable, pleasant place to stay without expecting anything too luxurious.
Think the booking.com nightly rate is pretty high considering.
Currently lift is out of action in hotel- not sure how long this has been the case.
Saturday evening was spent listening to the local young lads music outside the front of the hotel in their ‘super’ cars!
We stayed on a sunny weekend- Car parks suggested by hotel were full so had to park in Charlottes Street car park - was a walk but fine for us.
It was just like I remember. The hotel itself is stunning — spotless rooms, comfortable beds, and a relaxing atmosphere that makes it feel like a true home away from home.
What truly made my experience nostalgic, though, was the incredible staff — especially Sally in the restaurant, it was nice to meet her again. Her service was simply outstanding, she was warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. She went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and well looked after at all times. It’s rare to experience such genuine hospitality.
I can say this was one of the best hotel stays just like last time, thanks to the amazing team who clearly take pride in what they do. I will definitely be returning the next chance I get and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and exceptional service.
A comfortable quiet room in a great location for a 24 hour visit to Bath. Front of house staff are a joy to deal with and always make you feel welcome. Breakfast choice is wide-ranging and provides a great start to the day.
The bathroom basin push button plug never worked properly and needed replacing.
Hotel is in a prime location being just short walk from Bath Spa train station and overlooking the pretty Bath City Parade gardens. The hotel is very close to the historical streets of the city centre with the Abbey, Roman Baths and the many independent shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity.
The hotel is in a charming old building and is on several floors. High ceilings and large windows give the impression of an airy, yet cosy premises. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with abundance of amenities including well-stocked tea/coffee making facilities, large flat screen tv and comfortable queen size bed. Modern Shower and bathroom facilities included a range of towels and bath robes for guests.
Lift was out of action during our stay which may have caused inconvenience to more senior guests.
Transactions in the hotel bar are by card only and generally incorporate a 12.5% discretionary service charge!! (For bringing drinks/food to a table? Not convinced)
However this practice sadly now appears rife in the UK!
Great central location, our room was clean and comfortable. Comfy bed. The breakfast was nice, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend and would stay again using a Secret Escapes deal!
