Design and art in Bath
Pros:

The location is perfect in the city center, the interior and design of the rooms is tasteful and comfortable and staff is really nice. I also liked the art on the walls and artist details, so you can contact them.
Short parking for vehicle unloading is allowed and long stay parking is close by. It is an ideal location for exploring this beautiful city.

Cons:

Breakfast room is a little small for the size of hotel and the breakfast itself was not as exuberant as one might expect. But perhaps I was a little bit spoiled by the high standard of the rest of the hotel

We just wanted our bathroom floor cleaned.
Pros:

We stayed here after it was recommended to us, but unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing.

When we arrived, there was hair on the bathroom floor. We asked multiple times for the bathroom to be cleaned, but it still had not been properly cleaned by the time we checked out.

At one point, a cleaner came to the room while we were there. We asked if they could come back while we were out, and the response was, “Well, this is the last thing I need to do before I go home,” while they were on their phone. It made us feel like a very basic cleanliness request was an inconvenience.

The hotel then offered us drink vouchers as compensation. I explained that I could not drink any more alcohol because of medication I am taking. I was told they would speak to the General Manager about an alternative.

Later, while my wife and I were sitting at the bar, a member of staff came over and tried to give us drink vouchers again. If a guest has specifically told you they cannot drink because of medication, perhaps don’t offer alcohol vouchers to them again.

The bar itself was also disappointing, with beer flies around the taps, which appeared not to have been properly cleaned.

When we checked out, we were told the General Manager would contact me within five days, particularly as the original issue with the hair in the bathroom had still never been resolved.

I’m writing this review 10 days later. I have received no contact whatsoever from the General Manager or hotel, only the automated email asking me to leave a review.

Poor cleanliness, poor handling of a straightforward complaint, and no follow-up despite explicitly promising one. Definitely not the experience we expected from a hotel that came recommended.

Photos are of the hair we found, if they just had someone come clean it, we'd have no problem.

Great location hotel could have been a lot cleaner and fresher
Pros:

Nice bathroom powerful shower

Cons:

The room smelt musky we asked if they could open the window and only the secondary glazing opened and window bolted shut so still no air and strong smell
Bedding was very poor quality
Carpet smelt throughout the hotel

A great short break
Pros:

Very convenient and central to all the tourist sites in Bath. Room very spacious. Friendly and helpful staff, from reception to the restaurant, nothing too much trouble.

Beautiful spacious hotel with unbeatable location, helpful staff, and excellent breakfast. Highly recommended!

Fabulous! Excellent location, beautiful room (with a bathroom alone larger than some hotel rooms we’ve stayed in! Excellent breakfast. We were upgraded to a larger room upon arrival, which was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel even stored our luggage after check out so we could enjoy exploring the city without luggage until our train left that afternoon.

Cons:

Some initial confusion about how to turn the electricity on in the room, but the staff helped us figure it out. No other complaints!

Great location close to the Abbey and Roman Baths. Good breakfast and comfortable room.

Cons:

Squeaky door to en suite bathroom which kept closing by itself- annoying! The directions to my room from reception staff could have been clearer. Upstairs corridors were a bit of a maze!

Disappointing
Pros:

The staff were good and friendly, the position was very good the rooms were clean.

Cons:

When you are in your eighties you cannot safely get in and out of a bath safely. We arrived before midday and were told that the room would be ready by 3. The staff should assess their customers and arrange facilities to suite them.
Next morning I explained the situation, they told me they would give me a room with a walk-in shower.
The room was much smaller and not have the facilities of the first room, e.g. no Fridge.
The remote control for the Tv failed, the replacement also failed. We left an hour before we wanted to, because sitting in the room was not an option. We had a long train journey and we were not in the best humor.
