We had a view of the ocean from our balcony. Did not like the murphy bed. Would have been better just to have a regular bed and mattress. TV not working when we arrived, took two days to get another one. Water heater was not sufficient for two hot showers in a row.
It was a nice quiet place with great ocean views.
Everything was great. The view was amazing!
Had a very bad experience at the property, most of the stuff were not working as expected
On the beach practically. Good options of food nearby. Grocery store nearby. But would suggest hitting the costco before driving to the property. A food truck park is right next door with variety of options.
Property is a bit on the older side but overall neat and clean. Plenty of parking on premise. No restaurant onsite but can goto food truck park or other close by restaurants including the ones in resort next door.
Very calming place!
Very clean! Room was dated a bit but they made up for that because it was so clean. Resort pool and koi ponds were beautiful. Easy to get tennis/pickleball/putting equipment. Will definitely check out again if we can make it back to Maui.
The management team is extraordinary. Property grounds and room was impeccable! Fabulous view of the Pacific Ocean and Lanai …..wow. Numerous amenities and housekeeping was always on top of things
Best view ever! Loved to be as close to the water as possible and 40 feet is great. The carpet needs replacing and the unit is old. But I was fine with that. Was out walking and snorkeling most of the time.
Beautiful property! Loved the views & all the gorgeous flowers. Garden meticulously cared for. Great proximity to grocery, beaches, smaller restaurants. The beach that the property is situated on is not really swimmable, however plenty more in the area if you rent a car. The first 2 days we were awoken at 5am-6am with loud voices in the suite across from us, followed by a door closing loudly & person saying goodbye (later found out that some people live in this building). Coupled with construction noises between 8am-4pm, we were not finding the place very relaxing for our vacation. We requested a move through Expedia and were very happy they accommodated us, moving us to a much quieter part of the property.
We loved the view! The pool & hot tub was nice and clean, and we appreciated using the BBQs there. The unit we stayed in needed some updating and maintenance but overall it met our needs. The sliding screen door kept popping off the rail. The A/C was loud, our bedroom windows had lots of dust on top of window frame. Kitchen chopping & bread could be sharpened. The beach chair could be replaced, it was quite flimsy. One cushion on the couch had noisy crunchy plastic & broken foam pieces inside so we tossed it aside, replacing it with a bed pillow. Sofa bed was comfortable. A kettle would be appreciated in the kitchen. We were thankful for a later check out at noon (we requested). Would definitely come back here!
This place is amazing. We had all the stuff in our rooms we could want. Snorkels, fins, masks, and they even gave us Shell necklaces.
The beds were comfortable and we had a spectacular ocean view. I can’t wait to stay here again.
This was my second time staying at the Papakea. In my opinion it is better than the larger resorts because it is quiet and far more relaxing. I would have liked to have had an indoor mat to wipe my feet, as there is always going to be sand. I also feel that if a property is going to charge a cleaning fee, they should do the cleaning, not the guest. Still, I love this property and would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to relax.
My power went off and said they had contact owner won’t go pull brackets did offer me another iron because the old their was the one cousin problem lot cockroaches
Everything was great except the check in process
Unit was dated with uncomfortable furniture. Trash from previous guests was still in the room.
Quiet condo resort with great amenities. Daily activity schedule (ex. water aerobics), mini golf, barbeque grills by the pool, lounge chairs on the water, small sand beach, and amazing views. Very clean, slightly outdated furniture, but had a pull out couch and king bed. Kitchen came fully furnished. Washer/dryer and dishwasher with detergent along with Palmolive and a sponge and dish towel. Our unit had a set of beach chairs, beach towels and a snorkel set (no fins). Wall unit air conditioner takes a bit to get the bedroom cooled down as the bedroom is at the opposite end of the unit, but there was a fan available. Walking distance to the Times grocery store (much more expensive than Safeway though) and the Food truck park. Highly recommend the food trucks, dole whip at the pizza shop across the street next to Times, and shave ice as well. We wanted to try the bakery Papi Ohanas right in front of the resort but ran out of time, they have the best cinnamon rolls apparently and also serve take out pizza in the evenings. Most stores and restaurants close at 9pm, even on July 4th holiday week when we stayed. Kaanapali beach is an 8min drive with a parking garage on site attached the Whalers village mall, if you shop at the ABC store or eat at a restaurant they will validate for 2hrs, otherwise $8/hr. Overall amazing trip.
Very clean and located in great spot lots of food and shops within walking distance. For me personally I prefer the size of the resort it’s not overly crowded.
This was an ideal place to go and enjoy the peace and serenity surrounding you while there. People were awesome and always there to help. Ocean views were amazing and so tranquil at the same time. I look forward to a return visit in the future. Aloha baby!
Beautiful view from the balcony!!!!!
