Savoy Hotel Mactan Cebu near Newtown Beach

I arrived late and very very tired to Savoy Hotel after a long trip. At the check-in counter, ‘Jeremy’ welcome me with a smiling face and his words of ‘Welcome’ change my tired mood. Check-In was quick and efficient. And he takes his time to give me the information that I needed to know. Very helpful in connecting my wi-fi service and my questions. Thank you Jeremy for your amazing service, friendliness and hospitality. You are an asset to Savoy Hotel.

We were among the passengers affected by the Jetstar flight disruption from Cebu to Brisbane on 14 December 2025. We are a family of 4 my wife, our 4 year old daughter, my 68 year old mother, and myself. We were travelling with multiple pieces of luggage. We departed home at 1:30pm from south of Cebu. Jetstar announced the flight cancellation at approximately 9:20pm, after we had already completed the check-in process. We were then required to retrieve our luggage from the carousel and transport it onto the bus, which was particularly challenging given our circumstances. We did not arrive at the hotel until almost 11:00 pm.

Upon our arrival at Savoy Mactan, we were warmly welcomed by Dominic, who immediately made us feel at ease and treated us as though we were at a home away from home. At that moment, it felt reassuring that Jetstar had at least made the right decision in selecting the hotel after such a difficult evening. Dominic kindly escorted us to the reception area, where Chammy greeted us with a warm and genuine smile, making us feel truly welcome. I would like to formally inform the hotel management that staff members such as Dominic and Chammy are invaluable assets to the hotel. Their professionalism, warmth, and hospitality significantly eased what had been a very challenging night for our family.

We had a wonderful stay at the beach. Even with our Baby we were able to ask for help to get a place in the shade. A special thanks for the extraordinary Service and Support of the colleague Jean-Marc Lauan (MJ)! You made our stay Even better.

We had a really great dining experience at Savoy! The staffs are very accommodating, especially Elisha and Pearl. Quality service!

Great stay near the beach!
The hotel has a very good location—just a short walk to the beach and surrounded by many restaurants and places to eat. The neighborhood feels safe and peaceful, which made our stay even more comfortable. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the staff are truly accommodating and welcoming. Special thanks to Sir Girlou, Marty, and of course Ms. Joalyn for their excellent service and hospitality. They really made us feel at home. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing stay in a convenient location.

Christabel and Jane were very helpful at Savoy, especially working with me on reservations. I look forward to working with them on my next trip.

Love the initiative of lessening plastic waste. Best if they can also provide other dispensers per area and not concentrate in one location alone.

Disappointing Check-In Experience
Unfortunately, my experience at the Savoy Hotel was affected by very slow customer service at the front desk. The check-in process took far longer than expected, with no clear explanation for the delay. For a hotel of this reputation and price point, I would expect a more efficient and organized check-in experience. The lack of urgency and communication made the arrival frustrating and set a poor tone for the stay. I hope management addresses this to improve the guest experience.

The atmospher and the vibe really made a very good impression. Miss Trisha Abellana is one amazing and dedicated person. She guided me all throughout and was very transparent on just about anything else. The team was super helpful, cheerful and thoughful to always help, assist and provide anything for our company. Indeed, i am beyond words! Food, facilities, provisions, everything…. You got it all!

We booked 3 rooms. 2 on the 18th floor and 1 on the 15 floor. We can’t be on the same floor as it was fully booked on our checkin date. It’s so incovenient that we have to go down to the lobby just to go to the other floor. The breakfast buffet is not worth it. Not much variety and they are so slow in refilling and even saying that they run out of milk. Ridiculous! The room is so small and they say it good for 2 adults and 2 kids but it’s too tight to have 1 adult and 1 child in 1 bed so we ended up paying for 2 extra beds. We would never come back in this hotel as it’s not worth our hard earned money. Though some staffs are helpful.

The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our one-night stay with my family, greeting us with smiles and handling check-in smoothly, made us feel right at home!

The room is perfectly fine and well cleaned.

Horrible customer service. Staff was constantly misleading me on things either because they have no idea what goes on in the hotel or just lazy.

I show up to the bar when I arrive, lady tells me its closed. I ask what time it closes, she says 10. Its 950, and she rolls her eyes at me. Then the staff gi es me wrong breakfast times for my fre meal, nope, not thier problem and give me garbage foode to make up for a buffet I can't eat.

Never staying again.

Really good hotel. Staff super friendly and helpful. Amazing beach area, even if not directly at the hotel. Took us three minutes to walk there.

We were very satisfied and happy with the service especially to Miss Sham at the FO.
We were well taken cared of and the staffs were all very warm and welcoming.

Our 3 pets (small dogs Japanese Spitz, Mini Pincher and Pitzu were welcomed as well which made us very happy 😊.

The food was delicious as well (breakfast/dinner buffet) 😋

Easy access to and from airport, Ambience is very comfortable, Rooms are standard but can't recommend for family gathering since every room has the same bed settings (for two). Crews are helpful. Price is reasonable.

Wonderful, well managed busy busy breakfast. The staff is the friendliest and kindest group of people. SO enjoyed our time here. With love and great appreciation to Savoy, Machtan Newtown.

This hotel is a great choice for anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable stay. The location is perfect, with plenty of amenities within walking distance such as restaurants, convenient stores, pharmacies and supermarkets. Their beach is walkable or you use their shuttle to take you there. The beach has a lovely view and great amenities. The hotel itself has a lovely vibe, with most staff being friendly and accommodating. Our room was a good size, with a comfy bed and excellent air conditioning. We felt that it was a great value for the price we paid!!!
Few things to improve: When I booked my hotel room, I also requested transportation from the airport. However, upon arrival, I realized I had no information about the pickup location or the driver's contact details. This was particularly challenging since we arrived at 1 am after an international flight and had no means of communication. An airport porter kindly assisted us in contacting the hotel, and we eventually arrived at 3am. To improve the experience for future guests, I suggest providing clear instructions and contact information for the transportation service.
During our check-in at your hotel, we encountered an unfriendly staff member named Katrina at the front desk. Given our stressful experience at the airport, we were expecting a warm welcome. However, Katrina failed to greet or smile at us. As the face of your hotel, I believe it's essential for your staff to possess excellent communication skills and a pleasing personality. I hope you'll take steps to ensure that your staff receives proper training to provide top-notch service to all guests, regardless of their appearance or background.
It would be great if hand towels were provided in each room without needing to request them. We experienced an issue where we asked for some, but the cleaning staff took them away and didn't leave new ones.

Stay at savoy for 1 night kasi cancelled yung flight namin and it was a great experience all the staff are all nice and friendly from the front desk to security guard and also the bellmn who deliver our luggage Reydin OJT. Definitely we would stay at saviy if babalik kami sa cebu
