Nothing
On our arrival we were greeted by our amazing host Rachel, and of course the adorable Mia, with a glass of bubbles and a room upgrade to the Pinot Cottage, which after 3 days on the cycle trail was very much appreciated. Our accommodation was warm and extremely clean, and had all necessary amenities. The breakfast which included homemade preserves, was delicious. Rachel was the perfect host, and chef, as we discovered when dining on her superb dishes the following evening. The location was quiet and only a short walk to the town centre.
Location good.
Some info on what you're entitled to do in the lodge on arrival would have been helpful, as we were the only people there at that point and didn't feel at all comfortable. One teabag each in our room, no coffee or milk.
I didn't expect breakfast cereal at a B&B that describes itself as gourment.
Handy to town.
Expensive, no milk in fridge and continental breakfast minimal.
We took the self contained modernised unit with balcony in wonderful natural garden.
The interior was tastefully done to a very high specification & all amenities were available for use...
The host Rachel is a lovely soul & a brilliant chef so the evening meal options would be a must when we return again in the very near future..
The lodge is a short 5 minute walk from town centre and 15 minutes to vineyards therefore location was ideal....
We felt so at home & would recommend you stayvhere when travelling to Martinborough..
My partner struggled to straighten her hair in front of mirror as bathroom didn't have plug socket so a small mirror on bedroom wall may be an option to contemplate to alleviate that issue ?
Location and friendly reception
All ok
We stayed 7 nights and found Rachel very easy to get along with. Had lovely breakfasts every morning. It was like home away from home. We enjoyed sitting outside in the garden of an evening and having a wine. Only 5mins walk from the Centre of Town. Relaxing place to stay. Very clean.
There's nothing we didn't like. Felt very comfortable here.
Had a wonderful 2 night stay in a wonderful garden. Rachel cooked us a gourmet meal (extra cost) that was beyond excellent. Toured 2 wineries and would recommend Tirohana Estate for a meal or high tea.
Well equipped self contained cottage in good location (walking distance to central square).
Food was beautiful host was welcoming
Couldn't stay longer had to return home
Rachel made us feel right at home and so did the furry friends, Mia and Forty. It was lovely staying in a BnB walking distance into town. The rooms were spacious and private and the vege garden was lovely to look at. The food that Rachel creates is amazing. Breakfast and an aperitivo are included with your stay. We were lucky enough to have a trust the chef meal with her - out of this world delicious.
Nothing really, the only thing I can say is that the bathroom floor was a bit squeaky in our room but that is very minor.
