I showed up and the hotel was closed. I was not told about this and had to find another hotel
The hotel was not up to the standard to of a Courtyard Marriott. There were multiple issues, TVs did not work, elevator were sketchy, no hot water in the shower/bath. Beds were good and the A/C works that’s the only positive.
DO NOT STAY HERE! This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I travel for work and had around 150 nights in hotels in 2024 and this was by far the worst experience that I have ever had. To start, the elevator is broken and takes multiple attempts for the door to close and the alarm sounds before it will fully shut and move. The lobby and hallways are gross which led me to think I should check the bed and bathroom before unpacking and luckily I did. The first bed had stains all over the linens. The second bed had dead bugs underneath the blanket and on top of the fitted sheet. If I would have arrived earlier I would have switched hotels immediately however, I traveled all day and didn’t arrive until 1am so I had to tough it out for the night. The employee was nice enough to let me check several other rooms, one of which had the drain plug out and someone else’s hair in the shower, others had mold in the bathrooms, and they all had stained linens. Needless to say I checked out before heading to work in the morning and switched to a different hotel. They still charged me for three nights and did not answer any of the times I tried to contact them. I called the Marriott Titanium customer service who has informed me that they are still waiting on a response from the hotel general manager a week later. Listen to the reviews. Not only is the hotel disgusting but they will also inappropriately charge you and steal your money. This is an embarrassment to Marriott.
I have reached out to Marriott Customer service who also cannot get ahold of the property manager. They sent them my case 3 times to be resolved and the property manager continues to close it without resolution. This has been confirmed by a customer service supervisor. Not only is this property an embarrassment to Marriott, but so is the fact they cannot get a response from their own property manager or resolve an issue for a loyal customer who averages over 100 stays a night at their other properties. One week later and they still cannot get ahold of their own employee and give me the full refund they have requested. Two weeks later and Marriott still cannot get ahold of their own property manager. I finally got through to an employee who told me the manager would arrive in 15 minutes. Called back 20 minutes later and they rejected my call. Called back several more times and they let it go to voicemail.
Worst Marriot ever ! Marriot needs to pull their nose from this establishment. Elevator not working properly, no hot water, door key/ lock not working properly, bad need of remodel. Housekeeping just comes in room. Multiple issues, not a Marriot experience.
This hotel is THE ABSOLUTE WORST HOTEL. There was a toothpick in the pullout couch pullout couch had stained my first room smelled like mildew. A lot of the rooms had tapes on the door and were open. The elevator would not shut until three tries the water does not get hot. It stays cold they don’t vacuum the floors I found a roach in one room. This hotel is just not it. It’s really scary. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Upon arrival elevator was not working. Elevator did start working but when using, the door opens and closed 3 times before it will finally go. Remote for tv, room phone, one bedside light, not working. Roaches were present.. Son changed room due to non working items as well. We had told them we would be using gift card. They said they would do on check out but needed the card for deposit. Upon checking out, the person at desk was trying to figure out how to reverse and put on gift card we had. After waiting a while, we decided to leave as they said they would resolve in 30 minutes. I called back after an hour and still no luck. Called again and no answer.
We were also charged for 3 rooms on credit card assuming due to our son changing rooms. When they didn't resolve, we called Marriott customer service and then we called the Marriott Bonvoy card and filled disputes. Property has had 14 days to resolve and haven't. Be aware.
The elevator is broke , the phones are broke , the tv is broke and no hot water
We were inconvenient from the moment we arrived. These were our issues:
-Our reservation was given away
- it took us about 45 mins to actually get a key
- we were given the key to someone else room
- Front desk went to check another room and walked in on someone else room again—stated it was due to housekeeping not doing there job
-Black mold behind the wallpaper in room—yes we had to breathe it all in—didn’t notice until the next morning when we had better lighting
-Mold spots in the bathroom ceiling and around the walls at the top
- Hot Water had a yellow color-looked contaminated
-Hot water stopped working the next day
-Toilet backed up
-Maintenance came about an hope before check out and gave us a key to another room that was suppose to have hot water. When we checked the water there was no hot water in the new room
- Fitness center equipment did not work
- Pool was closed
- The bistro only had eggs and yogurt
- Elevator was scary and opened on its own before moving
- General Manager or the District Manager has yet to call about my experience as requested.
Front desk clerk that night and morning were nice.
-
No hot water, non-working TVs in room 5(maybe because they were made before 2008), front desk doesn’t answer the phone. Waste of money, avoid.
This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had! The hotel staff were completely incompetent at checking me in even though I had already checked myself in on the app. After 30 minutes or so, the man who was “helping” me said he needed the night manager’s help and she poked her head from around the office and said she wasn’t decent to come out and help. I asked him what she said and he repeated it, as I was shocked why she didn’t have clothes on. She never helped. Finally after 45 minutes I was able to get the room key from him. The hall smelled like weed, the room door didn’t lock properly as in the door wasn’t shut completely and the deadbolt didn’t lock. The shower was full of black mold. I called the front desk 3 times with no answer. I called customer service on corporate line for help. They were able to reach the hotel after 2 unanswered calls. She told Erik the state of my room and that I didn’t feel safe and wanted another room. He never called my room nor came to fix the lock or check on me. I was told I was getting a refund and my card would not be charged for the stay because I was canceling after what happened. However they still charged my card and there was a second charge for an unknown reason that I have to dispute. Horrible experience!!!
Absolutely awful. Marriott should be embarrassed to have their name on this property. The elevator did not work properly. The hot water was barely lukewarm. The television couldn’t get the basic channels. The air conditioning was stuck on freezing. There was mold in the shower. Breakfast was not free and not really available. Stay away from this property.
The only thing that was good about this property was the bed. The staff was a mess, the place was dirty, and I took a cold shower with 5” of water in the tub and a shower wand that drizzled cold water down my back.
The absolute worst hotel I have stayed in ever. Lift doesn’t work, carpets never been cleaned, no food available, pool is green, and AC is just breeding bacteria and stinks of mould. Stay away!!!! I recommend the hoilliday inn when you check out of this hotel after checking in.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! The hotel has black mold and our room door did not close all the way. We noticed that most of the doors on the second floor including ours looked like someone used a crowbar on the doors. The elevator wasn’t working. We didn’t stay there. We immediately checked out.
First of all there was only one elevator and it didn’t work, so we took the stairs to the 3rd floor. Then we get to our floor and half of the door frames and doors look like they’ve been kicked in and damaged. Once we got to our room and opened the door, the smell of mold hits us hard. We were so exhausted from traveling that we were still going to stay until I pulled back the comforter to find a pubic hair. This is by far the nastiest and most unsafe looking Marriott that I have ever seen. We immediately grabbed our stuff and went to the hotel next door. I will be calling Marriott corporate about this location.
If you are a meeting planner do not book this hotel. i was charged for 3 stays that were cancelled, and it is now 3 weeks that i can't get receipts- for 2 weeks when you call this hotel it goes to voicemail- yes a hotel with no human answering the phone?? This week someone answered but they only answer in the morning for about 2 hours- then back to voicemail- apparently ROY is the manager here and everything must go through ROY who never returns calls or emails. i have called Marriott who were no help at all. I am based out of Ohio so i can't event go into this hotel to solve the problem.
This is perhaps one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed. The property is dirty and in disrepair. The housekeeping is poor and doesn’t follow normal Marriott standards. The elevator has been vandalized and looks awful. The staff really doesn’t care. Worst of all no morning coffee available in the lobby.
I will not stay here again. Corporate Marriott needs to take note of all these reviews. They are accurate
Room was ok. Wallpaper peeling, paint chipping in places. Tv and remote would not work. Ice machine broken. Not a freat experience
Avoid at all costs. This hotel is filthy. I stayed here one night before having to cancel the remainder of my stay due to a hurricane that hit the area. I was promised I would not be charged for the remaining nights and it still hit my card. It’s been months pleading for a refund and even had Marriott’s case solutions team involved.
Every time a refund attempt would be made, the manager canceled it before it would clear my account.
If you do decide to stay here, keep an eye on your credit card and bring your UV light.
Staying at the Courtyard by Marriott in Beaumont was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Honestly, this place needs to shut down, remodel, and figure out how to meet basic Marriott standards. When you first walk in, the lobby gives a decent impression, but that’s where the charm ends. Once you get a sense of what’s really going on, it becomes clear why the place is nearly empty.
Every complaint I had read beforehand turned out to be true. We stayed on the second floor, and of course, the ice machine was broken. I even witnessed guests being told to just go behind the bar to grab ice themselves. The pool? Completely green. It looked more like a pond than a place anyone would want to swim. And the gym was unusable, cluttered with boxes that blocked access to equipment.
What really blew my mind was what happened at checkout. When I headed downstairs at 11:15 a.m., there wasn’t a single staff member at the front desk. Meanwhile, a group of homeless individuals had made themselves comfortable, watching TV and relaxing in the lobby without any interference. It’s clear the hotel has a serious problem with management and security.
This location is a disaster, and I cannot recommend staying here. In fact, after reflecting on the experience once I got home, I realized I paid way too much for what I got. If you’re considering booking here, save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.
