The lady at the front desk was great. I think her name was Megan (not sure if I spelled that right or if that was even her name..it's what I remember). She not only knew her job but everyone else's too. One of the reasons I picked this hotel was for their pancake machine. My kids love it. Anyway, when we went down for breakfast the pancake machine was off. I asked about it at the front desk and Megan investigated it. I heard the lady attending the breakfast area tell her they were out of the mix. Megan didn't just leave it at that. She started looking through the cabinet and quickly found some. Day saved! Pancakes may be a little thing but Megan turned what may have been a disappointing start of the day into a good start to the day. Thanks.
To tell you the truth, compare to the first two hotels we stayed at on our trip, this hotel was perfect. It may all be relative but I don't have anything to complain about.
By gas station
No hot tub when told on here there was one
Right off the highway with quick access to gas and anything you’d need before hitting the road.
We were looking forward to the pool but it was clear this pool doesn’t get cleaned and it was so filthy that people were able to write words on the pool, including profanities. The pool would be nice if you couldn’t see the grime everywhere. Please clean your pool, it’s really disgusting.
It is close to event I was attending.
N/A
It was convenient to get to the university
There was never any staff at the front desk.. only a sign that said they will be back shortly? But they were never there
The breakfast was only cold pastries and cereal and yogurt. No hot food or pancakes as advertised
In the gym, the treadmill was not working and it was very unkept
We had a room for 3 booked and an insufficient amount of towels in the room
The bedding for the pull out was very wrinkled and didn’t look clean
l've stayed at so many HG properties over the years and I come back because I have come to expect a certain standard. A Holiday Inn Express isn't the fanciest hotel, but I have learned to expect a clean and comfortable stay. This one was striking out everywhere. It's clear that they've tried to do some renovations, but there are lots of important details missing like towel bars in the bathroom and places to plug devices in on the night stand. Honestly, if these cosmetic things were the only issue, l'd give it 4 stars and call it a day.
Unfortunately, it's obvious pretty quickly that there's a cleanliness issue. Or perhaps a reno job gone bad? There were tons of questionable spots on the carpets and the tile floor, some even looked like mold near the base boards. The room smelled very musty upon entering as well. There were also some gaps at the room door! had to fill or cover with towels or paper towels to ensure privacy.
To top it all off, I took probably the quickest shower ever because of the grimy shower curtain and the family of spiders on the ceiling. I don't even blame the housekeeper team. When I was out and about I saw just the one cleaner. Call me crazy, but 3 floors of rooms plus common areas is too many for 1 person, even 2, if we assume she had a coworker on the clock with her.
All my linens were at least clean and the staff were professional and kind, so I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1.
Very easy and a good location
The Hotel Was Clean, My Room Was Very Well Maintained, And The Entire Experience Was Pleasant.
A Special Thank You To Charity At The Front Desk. She Was Polite, Respectful, Friendly, And Very Accommodating. Great Customer Service Really Makes A Difference, And She Made Me Feel Welcome From Check-In.
My Only Minor Complaint Was Breakfast. The Pancake Machine Was Out Of Service, And As Someone Who Doesn't Eat Pork, There Were No Other Breakfast Meat Options Available.
The staff was great
It was one of the dirtiest hotels we’ve ever stayed at. The bathroom was dirty. Also smelled like mildew hair on the floor toilet look dirty.Floors were dirty tables were dirty. Really need to follow up with the housecleaning.
The room was clean and appeared newly renovated. The AC did not work properly, this was disappointing. The snack area was very low on choices.
It was clean and the beds were comfy
We had to switch floors after getting settled in our room because kids running up and down the halls and slamming doors and we had this same problem last time we stayed here, not much to choose from with breakfast and the pool STILL BROKE 1 Year Later, we wanted to swim both trips we made here a year apart and couldn't, won't be going back
It was very clean and the staff was super nice and even complimented me on the mannerisms of my kids I appreciated that
The pool was closed
Not much for the price
Room wasn't ready when I arrived at 6pm
The breakfast
Pool was closed
The price for one night was very high
Bed was comfortable
There was a broken pump on our soap dispenser. No one was at the desk to get a towel. The elevator has a strong odor that was unbearable so we had to take the stairs b
