I booked this stay in April 2025. Two days before our arrival I received an email from Hotels.com reminding me of my booking at Comfort Inn & Suites in Ruston. When we arrived, after traveling for 12 hours, the hotel was closed for repairs/renovations!!!! Hotels.com NEVER notified me the hotel wasn't open. Hotels.com NEVER notified me there could potentially be a problem with the reservation. I later found out the hotel had been closed for 3 months!! WHY did Hotels.com allow me to book a hotel that wasn't even open!?!?! Needless to say, my daughter and I had to scramble to make alternate arrangements and of course couldn't speak with anyone at Hotels.com as the only "contact" feature was a useless chat. I have been a member of Hotels.com for MANY years and I'm shocked by the lack of professionalism, customer service, communication, and follow through. When we did finally find a new hotel, the price was obviously much higher than what we originally paid due to the fact it was a last minute booking. Do better Hotels.com, leaving travelers stranded is NOT an option.
Arrived at the hotel Wednesday evening only to discover the hotel had been closed for over a month. Had to find a hotel room and paid over double. NO communication was received on the closure.
Loved everything about this hotel from the staff to the location
This hotel is closed!!!!! We had to find another room in a different city!!!!
When we arrived at the location it was closed for repairs with no prior notice.
It's closed. No message sent. Expect full refund.
The hotel is closed!!! Emergency repairs caused the closure?!?!?? Please refund immediately! I am so upset to have reserved this for a graduation and it was closed!!! I never got an email or text from Travelocity warning me!!!
we arrived from Houston on evening of Thursday, May 1, 2025, to find the parking lot in Ruston, Louisiana, abandoned, with a flimsy handwritten (misspelled) cardboard sign taped to the front door reading
"closed, emergency maintenance, contact third party"
we received NO heads up notification that we would not be able to check in on Thursday. We had to go through a long process of talking to AI at exlpdia.com and then FINALLY a live person in Asia that comped us a room at Travel Inn. Why didn't anyone in the entire company inform us ahead of time that this location has gone belly up?
Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was cozy, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great. I'm glad the other hotel cancelled my reservation.
I am very disappointed in the services hotel.com provide. The GM meet me in the parking lot stating the hotel flooded on March 28 and hotel.com was notified, but I was never notified. I recevied notification up until the before I was suppose to arrive as if everything was fine. I even had an online chat on 5/1 requesting a copy of my reservation be emailed to me again and I was not informed of the flooding. So at the last minute I had to find other accommodations and most of the hotel were booked because there was a graduations that weekend which was the reason I was in towm. This type of customer service is unexceptable because while I was waiting others can up who had the same issue they were never informed.
no one was at the property, i called multiple times. i am out of 167. VERY UNHAPPY
When we arrived The property was closed and under construction. The hotel FAILED to notify their guest. We had to find another hotel to book. So frustrating
I had a reservation for this property. When I arrived it was shut down for repair. No one contacted me and I had to find another place to stay at the last minute.
We arrived on the day of our stay to find the hotel was closed down for repairs. While I understand that things happen, we received no communication from the property or Expedia ahead of time, or after for that matter. After driving for several hours we were left scrambling to find a room and ended up staying 45 minutes away. VERY UNHAPPY would be an understatement. Totally unacceptable that we couldn't at least be notified.
Hotel was closed when we arrived at 11pm. Absolutely no notice but according to the sign on the door a water pipe had broken and the entire property was dark. No one around, no one to share information…I go to Ruston 3 or 4 times a year but will never stay there again!
Closed.
🤕
the hotel was closed no stay allowed would have been professional to let me know before I arrived.
We didnt even find out that the property wasnt checking anyone in until we arrived at check in to notice that there was a CLOSED sign due to emergency maintenance. All other local hotels were booked up so we had to book towns away at a higher property (motel). Expedia lied and said they'd refund and pay the difference of the 2 hotels then ended up only refunding and paying the difference in the room charge excluding taxes and fees. We lost money in the process then Expedia ended up trying to rectify the incident with that amount we loss in credits to be used within a year instead of applying it to a trip I already have planned. Very displeased with the entire process communication was lacking and I had expected to be reimbursed all extra expenses incurred because of the hotel closure.
The property had a problem with burst pipes which shut down the entire hotel but they didn’t inform incoming guests. I arrived late in the evening to find I had no accommodations. There was no information posted at that time so I had no idea what was going on. Luckily I was able to find a room at the last minute, unfortunately at a very high rate. Too late to search for anything better. Very unhappy!
